While I do appreciate the fact that they added Ethereum to their website, the main reason I use Ethereum is to hold ERC20 tokens for cryptotechnologies that I believe have a solid foundation and roadmap. Without support for these tokens, I do not see myself switching wallets for Ethereum holding.

I suspect that it's part of their longer term plan. I think they are rushing to tap the Ethereum market and position themselves. The fact that they don't have an ETH block explorer yet tells me the same. I think they'll have support for ERC20 tokens in the coming months, as well as a block explorer. If not, they don't know what they're doing (or why Ethereum is relevant).

Well, I also think that blockchain started receiving them because of platforms in the ethereum has an idea that will be a heavy contender ethereum bitcoin which also has the possibility that a replacement would be the ethereum bitcoin. It's just that this is still some mystery news must continue supervised and followed, the main thing now is the most important for us is that in order to get a profit then it should definitely work hard and smart. So it would be much better to think of how to get a lot of advantages in the ethereum, bitcoin or for future savings.

Hi,
I never created an ETH wallet on blockchain.info. Yet, after logging in to blockchain.info, I found an ETH wallet there with some cash in it (with which I have had nothing to do!), and a long list of ETH transactions listed there (lots of money, long history, also from long before the addition of ETH).
Can anyone explain this? It looks like a very unsafe situation...
Thanks!

Lol I wonder how long until people realize these dumbasses can't be trusted with your trustless assets. Oh well, just keep popping your money in until they lose it or it's stolen from them good luck sheeple. Maybe try googling blockchain.info scam or blockchain.info algorithm etc. It's a good lesson.

Sorry, but I don't quite get it. As someone who has been using their service for quite long, it was unsettling to hear that people might have been having trouble with it. However, as you said, I google "blockchain.info scam" and came up with absolutely nothing about it. I also googled for "blockchain.info algorithm" and once more nothing out of the ordinary was present. I would like to know what exactly you are referring to in case you are right, but I have not seen anything concrete about it.

The good thing is I was able to easily exchange some bitcoins for ether on blockchain.info but the rate left a bald taste in my mouth. All in all a good development.

Damn! I miss this damn thing I was able to send my bitcoin already to an exchange and I was hoping to have some ETH, anyway I know that this will be stable as good to go.

After all Blockchain.info is a business house and they must have seen the potentiality in the Ethereum market. The inbuilt exchange which they are offering will be an added boon for the users as well as the company itself. The biggest worry about blockchain.info is, they don't give access to the private keys.

They sure really are seeing a good market for the ETH users and as MEW is the most popular one, I guess they want to beat it.

One of the biggest online wallet incorporating Ethereum proves that the ethereum market is on the rise.
Though many are skeptical about it as I see the negative remarks, I find it a good solution for bitcoineres who want to enter the ethereum market without the hassle of downloading a wallet.

I got the email too and have noticed they added the ether wallet. The best part what I like is, they have a inbuilt exchange between Ether and Bitcoins. This will help marginal traders to interchange between the two cryptos all in one place, and since it's in the same place, the exchange is supposed to be instant too.

Welcome

Today morning i got an email from blockchain anouncing that they are now accepting ethereum.
Blockchain members now have option in their wallet to receive, send, transfer eth. What are your opinions? Have you interacted with newly added currency?

Their move on having an ethereum wallet alongside with their BTC wallet is a good one especially on their current users. My only concern here is if you can export your own private keys from their website with just few clicks. Please understand that I haven't used their wallet since then so I don't know how they handle their private keys or if they even provide one for their users.

... It's funny how whatever I try to do, there must be some error just waiting for me.

Please don't break SegWit!  Cheesy

haha I can become a villain, going around using and touching stuff so they break. :'d  Tho I've resolved the problem, more precise, my wallet address was the problem. So that's resolved for now.

This is really great news, Blockchian.info is one of the biggest BTC wallets and the best one for beginners to use now that it's also supporting ETH is great. I might shift back to using blockchain.info wallet if make a dedicated ETH wallet.
Why did you quit using blockchain.info before? it's better if you use mew. if or when their front end is down you won't be able to send your eth unless you have private keys, do they allow private keys export?

they do but as much as I know only from imported addresses. and right off the bat, I'm getting an error while trying to exchange btc to eth saying "Failed to load exchange data"... It's funny how whatever I try to do, there must be some error just waiting for me.

Why would I use a service that requires me to create an account/login and stores my private key when I can do everything (even ERC tokens) on MEW using just my private key which is locally stored?

Yes, i logged into my blockchain.info account this morning and saw the same notice.

Previously i've had to either use myetherwallet which was developed by mostly anonymous people and a pretty fragile reputation, or i had to sync my wallet manually which would take a crap ton of bandwidth and disk space(and time, obviously).

But this is perfect, a simple wallet for ethereum investors that just want to have convenience in storing their coin.

I wouldn't recommend storing anything above 10 ETH on the web wallet though, it's not as secure as a good old paper wallet/desktop wallet.

I saw that today too. I'm not really sure what the purpose is since it doesn't seem like you can exchange back and forth between BTC and the other, so I guess I'll it's really doing is just saving you a step of switching from one website to another just switch from one wallet to another or maybe they're simply trying to integrate some of the stronger coins together.

How about ETH based tokens? Does blockchain.info support the tokens like myetherwallet?

so far it doesn't seem like they are supporting them.
but i believe it may be a feature they are going to add in the near future. this wallet for ethereum is very new after all. it takes time and if there were enough demand for it, i am sure they will do it.

I am interested in will this option allow to move tokens on that Ethr address on Blockchain.info or it is just for Etherum coins and that is it?
