For those that don't know, these in my opinion work so much better from a internet connectivity standpoint.  No longer do you have to run an enet cable to each miner as you do on the AntMiners.

They use a raspberry Pi3 as a controller running a version of OPENWRT with cgminer preloaded and a nice web interface to configure, view status, etc.

Each *controller* can support up to 4 of the AUC3 (which do not come with the miner, instead I believe one is included with the controller if you buy a controller from canaan).  Don't overlook this step if you are just getting started with the Avalon 8s.

Each AUC3 can support up to 5 miners

This means that a single rPi3 controller can support up to 20 miners on a single enet connection.... Or if you want a wireless connection.

Bottom line, the miners come with a single cable that can connect to an AUC3 or to another miner (they do not come with the controller or the AUC3)
The AUC3 plugs into the rpi3 and can support up to 5 miners per each
The rPi3 can support up to 4 AUC3's for a total of 20 miners
enet plugs only into the rpi3, not the individual miners

The easiest solution is to just buy a controller/AUC3 from the guys at BLOKFORGE, but they are so much more flexible than the AntMiners IMHO.

(one final note, if you have 741s or 821s, you can not mix them on the same controller, 7s wont run on 8s and 8s wont run on 7s.  I already know this as I have 741s and 821s

Does the controller come with the 841??? I'm not seeing any documentation.
no that got changed with the 821.  The only thing included is the i2c cable that would be used to connect to the AUC3 or another miner

If buyers of the first or second 821 batches wish to order contact us and we can pull up original order and offer a discount to offset previous prices, that is coming from us not canaan.
How will this work? Email or PM you? I got 2 of the Feb 821's and a discount towards a couple of the 841's will be perfect.

We have been negotiating with Canaan for the past week, and hoped to finish prior to sale yesterday, but we are going to launch new pricing today, and credit back those whom have purchased the 841 batch thus far the difference.  If buyers of the first or second 821 batches wish to order contact us and we can pull up original order and offer a discount to offset previous prices, that is coming from us not canaan.

At this price they will move fast...

Blokforge is by far the best distributor I have ever dealt with.  No questions asked.  Seriously, customer support both here, email, and phone is unmatched.  They are USA based in Arizona, and always willing to fix any silly mishaps that may happen.  Anyone who thinks there is a better distributor out there is absolutely insane.  You can't even get a miner fixed from bitmain half the time and they aren't even IN the USA.  Blokforge on the other hand... you can literally pick up the phone, call, and a live person picks up to answer any questions.  Even if blokforge was more money I would PREFER to go through them than anyone else because I feel the level of service they give their customers is unmatched.

Well done Blokforge, pricing is trend setter for 841. After seeing hardware manufacturers gouging consumers for "latest tech" someone has perspective. Although I'm in the same boat with 821 pricing but that's the market. Am I happy no, but supply and demand. We decided to buy or not buy, knowing that new tech is coming or jump in right away. Those who say to trade and hold the same applies, think of those who purchased at $20k BTC valuation at this point in the market. It's about anticipation and timing. Still happy with 821's for now at least but the $3k price was hard to swallow.

I can attest Blokforge ships straight away. Never had a delay and typically product arrives at expected in condition expected.

I didn't pay 3600 thankfully, it wasn't first batch, I tried to get one of those but the website didn't load. Still paid more for an 821 than what the 841s are going for. It's doubtful that I'll ROI my 821 with the difficulty increases.

Also I should be getting it soon my post wasn't about shipping, point is seeing the 841s priced that much cheaper is a slap in the face. It would have been better to buy bitcoin.

BTC being down is beside the point. He paid $3600 for an 821 and it hasn't arrived yet. When it finally does in a month, he realizes he's never going to break even on it as difficulty will be even higher by then and will continue going higher. At least if he bought BTC outright, he doesn't lose anything as long as he holds it until BTC comes back. Whereas the 821 miner will lose value day by day as it earns less & less until it becomes obsolete. And to make matters worse, Canaan is shipping out the new 841s the same time as the 821s and at a lower price. He can't even sell his 821 at a 50% loss as who would buy it when there's a more efficient 841 on the market.

If this is true it was not ordered from us, the first batch has been long delivered by now, as well as the second batch.  Next month is the 841 batch.  Not trying to argue, just do not feel people should thinking we are not shipping on time when ever batch we have shipped early to date.

Am I seeing things or is the 841 priced much lower than the 821? 841 ships out in only a month too...

I'm still waiting for my 821 (which will likely never pay for itself now) and the 841s are that much cheaper and only a month away?! I should of just freaking bought bitcoin because this is ridiculous.

Send us an email.....

Based on a whattomine you wont see ROI in year at current pricing for BTC and what Canaan has for the 20x 841 setup which doesn't include PSUs when you factor out the controller price. Given Blokforge is a retailer you can expect an extended ROI calculation as well with increased retail pricing. My estimation is retail price for these will be around $3.6k per unit w/o controller, AUC or a PSU.

edit: of course if BTC goes up, demand goes up and price for equipment goes up.

Well below this..
