There is a place for them... Services. Not much point having an empty sub for ten job offers to go in.

That's quite right. The service section is perfect for job request etc. Maybe the signature campaigns should have their own section.

It's shit like this that the community isn't taken seriously.

"No we can't have a jobs board because there aren't enough jobs posted"  (.... because we don't have a jobs board!)

"But what we really need is a section for signature campaigns!"

Give me a break guys, seriously.

A board could be made, a year from now this could be a great resource for job hunters and hiring managers in the Bitcoin space.  I don't know if you noticed,  but 100's of millions of VC capital is flowing into Bitcoin,  that means jobs,  that means the potential to grow our little economy here, real economic value,  that means people earning in Bitcoin (hopefully).

Bitcointalk could help propagate that,  or,  it could direct jobs posts to the cesspit that is currently services.   Hmmm,  100k a year dev position,  OR  do my homework for 0.01 BTC..

In all seriousness,  i can't understand how this could not be a thing.

We want a bitcoin economy right?   Tens of thousands of Bitcoiners gather here right? ... and spend tens of thousands of hours here right?  Yeah, you guys are  right,  doesn't sound like a place for any jobs to me either...

Then put them in the Services section. A few posts isn't enough for an entire sub but if there's clear demand then a section will likely be considered. At the moment job requests/positions are few and far between.

That's true, but you may not know as to how large it may actually be unless it's there. A separate section encourages ppl to post in them. Perhaps, the "services" section discourages job postings. Community-based forums like BCT (i.e conceptart.org, polycount, etc) that I've seen include a separate job board section even though they know that there are sites out there that may do this in some way or another, and they are quite popular. It helps job seekers and job providers and even those who may not have previously considered a job or providing a job. It encourages growth in the bitcoin workforce!

I support OP's request.
Job related threads are scrolled away from service threads.

In my opinion you should hire employees on one of the many freelancer pages given by the www. It's not necesarry for this board here. The Service sub-board suffices.

concept art and polycount are art forums. It is more natural for them have a job board due to its nature. People produce art things and make a jpb from it.

Bitcoin is a mean of exchange, not something that produces stuff.

Sure, but bitcoin is in a lot of ways like art. People can develop it and other cryptocurrencies and build infrastructure and services that are inspired from it. Bitcoin is different from another "mean of exchange" if you mean things like US Dollars, Euros, or gold. People can't create or expand on these means of exchanges. They're just there. Also, this probably has to do with the fact that fiat money has been around for a long time, and services and jobs revolve around it without us thinking much about it. On the other hand, cryptocurrency is relatively newer and there's not much infrastructure out there yet. Cryptocurrency has a lot of opportunities in it. I would argue that it is a lot like art at this point in time. It is a medium in which new businesses and ideas can get inspiration from.

They go in the Services section. Don't really think there would be enough interest at the moment for a dedicated Jobs board but maybe in the future. There are also already several bitcoin job sites (just google 'bitcoin jobs').

I dunno about that,  i'd like to make a few WTH postings myself and i'm sure i am not alone..

People looking for work in the space i am sure would post as well..

It would be a nice idea to have a proper section, services is a bit vague so you tend to get businesses posting up offers as well and there's of course the sig campaigns too.
