I would like to see a rematch as well as I think Bohachuk will make the right adjustments in the second fight.

Heading to the championship rounds, I thought the fight was up for grabs, and I was right. One judge had it a draw, and two judges scored in favor of Ortiz, who took the championship rounds. I'm sure they are going to run it again. The fans enjoyed the game, and both fighters believed they had won the fight.

All I know is that in every championship fight, the champion always has the luxury of a rematch, even if the fight is one-sided; the fight is too close to call, they have to run it again. We never know if we could even have a trilogy with these two fighters.

Or in a championship fight, judges favor the champion in close rounds. But yes, as we see the fight, Bohachuk started hot and really putting great works against Ortiz and that knockdown as well. But it shows that Ortiz has the heart, I would compare him to Victor Ortiz who is a power puncher as well and similar style, the only problem with Victor Ortiz is that he doesn't have the mentality, he succumb to pressure and so he lost.

Unlike Vergil Ortiz, when the going gets tough, he elevated his game and so he preserved his record and now the interim champion. Hopefully, they could run it again and and produce another classic fight for us fans.

^^ Yes, if we look the numbers, definitely Ortiz did up the volume of his punches and try to steal the rounds from Bohachuk.
So for me, it could be very well a draw as the judges doesn't have the benefits of that numbers and if we look at it, was really close and hard to see who is going to win.
Even one of the judges have it draw, so we might be right in what we see in this fight.
And it was like a close quarter fight that we expected from this powerful punchers. They did give the fans the fight that we wanted for and we can see them standing at the end of the 12 rounds to appreciate this two warriors. But unfortunately, there could only be one winner.
I would like to see a rematch as well as I think Bohachuk will make the right adjustments in the second fight.

I saw the number of this fight and it looks like Ortiz really pour it on the last half of the fight specially in the championship rounds as he might have seen that he is behind the score card and so I do agree that this is a fight of the year candidate. And great coach and trainer as well, Robert Garcia did push Ortiz in his fight and give him the right instructions and motivation to carry on the last 3 rounds to win.

And specially in this kind of close fights, the loser will cry that they have been robbed. With that, the camp of Bohachuk is demanding for a rematch from Ortiz. Not sure if Ortiz will give that as there could be no rematch clause and for sure Ortiz is looking for the next big fight as there are a lot of great fighters in this division.

As what trainer Robert Garcia said in an interview that if Vergil Ortiz won't be facing Terrence Crawford then a rematch with Bohachuk should be made as soon as possible because that recent fight was inconclusive to some fans, i mean if could go either way and the rematch could settle the issue once and for all.

For those who wanted to see the numbers here it is below,

And it shows that Ortiz really up his punches output thru rounds 8 and up. Most likely this is also what the judges show and thus they give it to Ortiz. But yeah, it was really a close fight as what fans expected and so I would definitely agree for a immediate rematch.

Anybody who had seen Bohachuk before knew he would be more competitive than what the odds were saying. This fight was toe-to-toe and could have been fought inside a phone booth. Bohachuk scored two flash knockdowns and almost pulled an upset.

Many people will feel like the Ukranian was robbed by the judges, but there is no obligation for the judges to score a round 10-8 in his favor just because he scored a knockdown. Vergil was not badly hurt and still looked better in those rounds. The way those rounds were scored could have swung the decision either way.

The fight deserves a rematch, but if Turki Alalshikh has his way, Ortiz will fight Crawford next. Ortiz might not be ready for Crawford, but Crawford is getting old and might be declining, so now is the time to step up and see what he is made of.

At least this could have been a draw, because that's what my unofficial scorecard is. Yeah, it was a fight that we expected, those two fighting meeting in the middle and throwing bombs. Bohachuk really looks strong in this fight. I wouldn't be surprised if there will be a rematch here.

154 lbs is pretty much stack up I would say, Ortiz, Crawford, Tsyzu and then we have this contenders who are really very big punchers. Fundora as well lest we forget are another specimen at super welterweight.

Let's see the plans of the Saudis here, I wouldn't complain if  Turki Alalshikh will have Crawford vs Ortiz next.

This will be a hell of a fight. Both boxers have very high KO rates, so most likely, this won’t last 12 rounds—you shouldn't blink while watching. I haven't followed this particular division closely, but judging by the records, I believe Ortiz is the more popular boxer. However, I think I might bet on the opposite side if the odds are attractive enough. After casting my vote in the poll, I can see that Ortiz has more votes, so it seems he really is the favorite.

This is by far, Ortiz’s toughest test in his career. His 100% knockout rate is an impressive accomplishment, but if we analyze his record, his best win is against Egidijus Kavaliauskas. We can see that his record is a bit inflated. He is still a very good fighter with incredible potential. Bohachuk’s record is very similar. He has a lot of knockouts but it’s not the strongest resume.

On paper, this could be a very close fight, but if Ortiz is the talent he was being hyped up to be then we will see a new champion crowned.

Ortiz is the most marketable opponent available for Crawford, outside of Canelo, so if he wins convincingly by knockout I’m sure that fight will happen next.

Right, although Ortiz doesn't have that much fight because of his health issues, his best wins is against Egidijus Kavaliauskas, the same boxer that really gave Crawford a great fight and we thought that Crawford was damage. But Crawford did deeper and was able to overcome Kavaliauskas.

Still a lot of names at 154 lbs, but if Ortiz win, that is a big possibility that Crawford is willing to fight him. Unless Crawford wanted to go down to 147 lbs as we are not satisfied with his performance at 154 lbs. There could be Ennis at 147 lbs, but if he stays at 154 lbs, then there are a lot of good options for him.

Vergil Ortiz giving respect to Bohachuk going into this fight, he said that he is ready for a full 12 rounds and that his knockout streak might end because Bohachuk is a tough fighter. He mentioned that he has sparred him for 50 rounds so he is more familiar how durable and strong and ready this dude.

So he is not taking any precautions and so he have trained very hard and ready to go full distance. If he wins here, there are a lot of names that he might face in the future. Crawford is a newly crowned champion and then we have Fundora and then Tim Tsyzu. Who knows, Charlo might go back and reclaim his glory at this division.

Quote
“Oh, fuck yeah, this has fight of the year potential,” said Ortiz. “I've been waiting for fights and opportunities like this. We had some setbacks, but I feel that we are better than ever now. This is the perfect fight to showcase it.

“We always have the plan to go the full 12 rounds. I'm not going to be able to stop everybody. I wish I could, but the reality is that I will not be able to take everyone out, and this guy is most likely going to be that guy.”

And most likely the winner of this fight will face Crawford?

I mean we have seen the performance of Crawford and although eh beat Madrimov, we are not that impressive by it. So who knows, maybe this the interim champion here is willing to face Bud now.

This fight is going to be this weekends and so with that, as per Stake here are the odds,

As both are power punches, might be good to bet on a knockout here, just depends on who we are going to pick here.

This is the battle between two of the hardest punchers in the Super Welterweight division, one with a 100% knockout percentage and the other with an almost perfect knock-out ratio.
Vergil Ortiz Jr 21-0-21 will be fighting Serhii Bohachuk 24-1-23 will be fighting for the
WBC INTERIM SUPER WELTERWEIGHT TITLE AUG 10 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada

Wow this one is difficult to predict both were looking impressive recently, as to Bohachuk is on the roll defeating Brian Mendoza for WBC interim junior middleweight and in the contrary Vergil has a couple wins against who are nowhere near top-level fighter. It's easy to say that Ortiz had a lot of power behind his game and has been more than enough to beat the level of opposition his promoters feeding him, but Ortiz is not built to throw a lot of punches and his technical game were still the same but Bohachuk shows a lot of potentials to win this fight as he had an excellent amateur background in Ukraine before he become a pro around 2017. If Serhii's objective is popularity and fame, then fighting Vergil Ortiz is the right decision especially if he dominates the fight.

In the end of the day, I can't wait to see these fight! Good luck to both fighters, it'll become sensational

But if you look at the odds, it's not difficult to predict because Bohachuk is almost 3:1 underdog. So regardless if both are knockout artist, it boils down on the talent itself and odd makers are putting Ortiz as a big favorite to win here.

It's only the ML though is available from the sports book that I check and hopefully they could list like the Over and Under that might be very attractive for some bettors. And as per our experience, usually when the fight is about to get closer, we might see more options for us, like the per round as well. So hopefully this is the case in this fight and as per the ML, I will be looking for Ortiz to score a knockout win, and as I have said before, this is a going to be a war.

Ortiz Jr. is a beast with an insane KO record, but Bohachuk's definitely no slouch. This is a tough one to call. I'm leaning towards Ortiz by KO just because of his momentum, but Bohachuk's got the experience and power to pull off the upset.

This is going to be an electrifying match, it's sure to be a high-octane showdown. So expect fireworks from the opening bell.

To date this will be Ortiz toughest opponent as they have a similar record, and we have seen how impressive Bohachuk against Brian Mendoza, so yeah he is no slouch, although there is this argument that Mendoza is not really that great and that knockout he scored against Fundora is just pure luck.

Sure, high-octane fight and so it should live up to the billing and then we will see the winner facing Tim Tszyu as this is the original schedule, Ortiz and him.

So I'm also leaning towards Ortiz here by knockout here.

It's interesting that Bohachuk is Ukraine as he carry it in his trunks and if it happens that he upset Ortiz, we would have another Ukrainian champion in the record.

Ukrainians are in the winning streak right now, however, Bohachuk might fell short here, in my opinion.

Vergil Ortiz is young boxer who started his career as boxer quite smoothly from when he was teenager, but he has made very satisfying achievements and has achieved many wins so that his knockout ratio is very high.
All his wins were by knockout and of course this is quite success for young boxer like Vergil Ortiz, this title fight might be quite an important fight for him and could improve his record.

But on the other hand, Serhii Bohachuk is also fighter who has had pretty perfect career, in fact he has had many great achievements at young age, I think they are two great fighters for super welterweight.
This will be great fight and is definitely title fight that many people are looking forward to, I can't wait to see Vergil Ortiz fight and if he can complete his overall knockout victory with this title fight.
If Vergil Ortiz manages to win again like in all his previous fights then it is clear that he will be the only fighter in the super welterweight class who is undefeated and maintains winning record by knockout ratio of 100%.

I watched Bohachuk's highlights here,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deuYEdCNOLY

Yeah, he had raw power, but I think it needs more polishing, and the quality of his opponents as well and that's why it is easy for him to score that knockout. I don't know but I will give Ortiz the advantage here. But for sure, this fight is going to be exciting when two boxers with that kind of power face each other.

Nobody comes close to Vergil; he is just so dominating. Bohachuk could be the right guy who's up to the challenge to beat Ortiz.
It is time for Ortiz to step up the fight and challenge the best fighter in whatever division he is in; he is already a polished fighter, but injury and fighting low-level fighters have kept him from achieving a lot.

I guess this is because Oscar protected his record; Golden Boy's way of promoting his boxers is not suitable for many boxers. They fight boxers that they can easily beat, taking a lot of time for them to shine.

I have mark this fight I'm sure its going to be a slugfest but Ortiz will eventually take this fight and will fight Crawford for the title.

Correct, it's going to be a slugfest as we can see that the records of this two are impeccable and the knockout ratio is very high. And when we have this kind of boxers facing each other, chances are we are going to see a great fight and trying to hit each other head and score a knockout.

And I do agree that it's about time for Ortiz to step up the competition and his promoters have been protecting him for so many years. Although they've already created some hype on him, still though not much of a great fight throughout his career. So this could be his real big test and we will know how Ortiz will be challenge and react against a fighter that has that kind of knockout power like himself.
