Definitely not, because I tried to find all information related to Google but they didn't seem to have created any projects, they didn't even have a plan to create cryptocurrency for the company. their. Maybe someone has tried to name it like google to create hype for their project

So, the general line of thought seems to be, They just changed the name to profit of the brand?

The thing is, they are around since 2017, and have offices up, logos, meetings, and all that... As someone pointed out, there is Toogle Zoogle etc etc, from what i have seen thou, the moment someone tries to launch a search engine on a name like that they would get sued up and down by Google.

Any TM lawyers around? How can a company set up a search engine with such a similar name with offical offices in SG, and NOT get sued? This a trick id like to know about.

I am not with Boogle, nor do i have any affiliation, this thread only serves as information.

I saw the Boogle project a while ago and immidiatly noticed the similarity to, of course Google.

Was wondering how they could legally put out a search engine with such a similar Name.

Does anyone know if or if not they are affiliated with Google, how they were able to acquire Boogle.com? (Recently) And if they are not affiliated, how are they legally able to do it?

I did try reaching out but no information was provided by either side...not to mention, they currently have a $7bn market (for their entire coin supply).

Found their pitch and wp so on here https://dmh.co/index.php/9-featured/26-welcome
They also seem to have a youtube/twitter/fb none of which is very informative, Not what a 7Bn project ussually looks like.
Of course not, if Google launched the cryptocurrency then surely they will create huge hype in this market. I stay in this market often but haven't heard any news related to it. And I also think that google will never create cryptocurrencies at the moment because it's not really necessary

If they were google, we would definitely got an authentic source of the project existence. Since google has never shared anything, I think they are not affiliated with google. Just because the name is near to google does not mean it is from google.

They recently switched from Boogle.io to the mainpage Boogle.com, from what i can see claiming to have simply purchased Boogle.com

The thing is, i cant imagine Google not winning if they sued Boogle, and unless they are partnerd i cant see how they wouldnt do that.
Thats like if i opened a company called Chevolet, as my car brand. Or a social network called Lacebook, thats simply not gonna happen.

Reason for making the thread (to be clear) is because my attempts at asking for info where simply ignored Smiley. (+ i think if someone just creates a 7bn market and dosnt announce on here, that people dshould know).
If Boogle outcry try to confuse users that they are Google, passing like they were the accual Google and doing illegal stuff like stealing Google users information,... If not, I don't think Google would care about them.

Don't you think if they were affiliated to Google that Google would've made the word blast with the news? There's no affiliation here to me it's all for awareness purpose for the new search engine.

Yeah Boogle is a browser that has own blockchain. Its just imitating Google design but totally different from it. Ive try using it and its fast also. Maybe because their browser is new. Also theres a chance to earn BOO tokens which currently traded already and has been listed on CMC. I think this isnt a bad project at all considering the info of their team and everything about it. I do hope they launch a bounty campaign here in forum.

So its more like Brave browser.

Well that is cool since they are competing for a large company.
They have the courage to do it.

But I find it better when it comes to being unique. They just changed a one letter in the name.
Hoping to see something better about them.
Will try it out later.

Maybe they want to mislead people to visit boogle and not google Grin

Or maybe that is their strategy to use that name.

If Google wants to launch its own coin, they will give an announcement to the public, and they will invite so many clients that already use their services to the crowdfunding. I think there is no correlation between Boogle and Google, and maybe they want to create something different.

Nah, I don't think that this is related to Google in any shape or from. The people behind Boogle are just using the name of Google to hype their project simply as that. $7 billion? that's the first red flag already, so I wouldn't even put a single satoshi on this project. And once Google find out about this project, lawsuit might follow, there's even a https://boogle.com/, same name. So this project is not to be trusted, IMHO. But thanks for bringing this up to the community, I guess this serves as a warning as well.

They also seem to have a youtube/twitter/fb none of which is very informative, Not what a 7Bn project ussually looks like.

First you have to ask yourself, do Google really need this or not?

Obviously, they have tons of money at their disposable, so I don't think that they will just go and join cryptosphere right now just to get some money from investors. I wouldn't be surprised if this project will go and run away and pull an exit scam. So I will advise everyone to stay away from it so that you won't regret in the end.

If it was Google so why they use Boogle instead of Google? No reason for it. Maybe that they buy the domain Boogle.com and using the similar name as Google to boost their project.
It sounds like but the name doesn't really matter at all. Facebook has Libra and it's far from its original name so it's not that a big deal for Google if they choose Boogle.
Thus, we are not yet sure if this is really them.

Google is copyrighted to Alphabet Inc, while Boogle is not. It's an old marketing technique to create something similar to a well-known company and Boogle is doing just that. For your information, foogle.com, hoogle.com, toogle.com or even voogle.com is not available for buying and they are termed as premium in some domain marketplace. Also these domains don't have any website associated with them. So apparently, some domain flippers have bought such domains to resell. Not necessarily, they will have to be affiliated with Google for that!

the concept is as useful as the Google search engine, I don't know if it will be widely used or desirable, considering that Google is the number 1 search engine in the world and there are still many that are no less famous like Yahoo, Amazon or other sites.

This is crypto world, a place where anyone can become a developer and steal big companies name to deceive investors, this boogle have nothing to do google, if the project is from Google it won't be too hard to figure it out, it will be plain to everyone

They are actually real and being traded on Digifinex  Grin
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/boogle/markets/

The domain has been around since 1999 according to whois, that's two years after google was registered. I can't find any article that says Google sued Boogle since 1999 so I guess it was legal.

I bet Boogle was purchased or someone partnered with the original owner to turn it into another Brave/BAT project.

This means that they are not really from Google? There were rumors that Google will also have its venture in cryptocurrencies that's why some can't avoid thinking that projects like this might belong to Google.
But, we don't know if it's from them or not. We have to wait for their announcement if they are already in.

Of course we have to wait, just making the thread to see if someone out there happens to know more. + I like theory talk especially when im bored...

I find it extremly unlikely that a company like Google would let someone use Boogle as their search engine brand, if they are not a sub-co or affiliated (Partnered).
I've googled actually the word Boogle and there's an actual relation to them. Let's wait for someone more knowledgeable about the things that Google does or knows more about this Boogle.
