Thanks... just sync'ed v2.2... the database needs some optimising as it takes a very long time to load the blockchain on start-up(not talking about downloading and sync'ing).

There are some interesting topics being discussed over in the HBN thread - those code choices will most likely end up in CAP. The memory issue was mentioned along with block count... Good read:

Can someone confirm the latest wallet version?

The latest listed here is v2.1... but there is a v2.2 on Github.

Thanks!

https://github.com/Tranz5/bottlecaps/releases

I run 2.2.2 but either works. I remembrer a checkpointing fix between the two.

Cryptopia coin info lists: v2.2.2.0-g418187240-Caps2.0

Hi everyone. Just to let you know not dead, still here. Over the next few months I plan to do some with on HBN. If (and this is a big if) I am able to I will try also push some of this over to CAP. But if others want to take my commits and bring them over that would be a good thing.

I'll post here as they happen see if anyone else want to help, or if it is just talk.  My guess is 2018 - 2019 for the final set of commits, with some early ones in 2017.

Welcome!

CAP is listed on poswallet.com voting list.
We need 1000 votes for opening this new market. Please vote weekly.

Thank you for the work you did to get CAP on Cryptopia before Cryptsy imploded.

I'll definitely get signed up on POSWallet as soon as I can get in and post a screen shot.

There is some CAP sitting below 30 on Cryptopia if anyone wants to snatch some.

Interesting things might occur soon with bottlecaps Wink

What things ? Do not burn our bottoms...tell us the BIG news... Smiley

I could go for some interesting things. With no developer to drive hype or to quote another dev 'code away sell walls', interesting would be good.

Is there any pools out there for caps ?

Have been looking around, as hash-to-coins and multipool does not like caps any more Smiley

Looks like CAPS has died a slow death
instead of going out with a bang!
So sorry CAP - RIP

slow wallets lead to slow deaths.
user experience is everything - if the experience sucks you wont get users.

personally i cant shake the suspicion its the gigantic near 2 GB blk and index file sizes.
while 'modern' windoze filesystems support very large files, i suspect something in the
windows or C runtime support internals gets very bogged down when dealing with large sizes.

be an interesting experiment to see if things speed up if the block/index files were limited
to say about a Half GB.

i havent noticed any other usable altcoin wallets using giant block files, perhaps there's a reason for it...

DMD has about 1 GB but is lightning fast - they have upgrades
and are in the process of another major upgrade. Would be nice
to see a new developer come on and upgrade the core. There is still a huge community

hmm, which verison of DMD is fast ? i'd love to see one.
2.1.0.4 is slow as fck, like many pos coins.
fast wallets (fast sync) in my scale are NLG, BLC, GRS etc

What is BLC?
BTC and LTC are also fast.
Do you hold any NLG?

Join The Blockchain Revolution In Logistics

How could this be done?

It is not easy to get new users with the slow sync and large blockchain. A new chain with updated code and a webpage could attract more people. I guess there is a lot of bottlecaps/fallout fans around.

Can't avoid blockchain bloat. Just look at bitcoin..

bump TRUTH see above ... CAPs want to launch a spinoff?  DAG chain?

also ... get on POSW ... 2 stake pools is near assurance CAP survives and thrives

A swap to a fresh chain would  solve that problem.
