First and most importantly go to your appdata directory and make a backup of your wallet.dat - don't skip this step.  Name the backup wallet-backup7-10-14.dat or something.

Second startup the wallet in terminal with the salvage wallet switch. So if the exe is in my documents I would type this into terminal:
Code:
documents/bottlecaps-qt.exe -salvagewallet

This should rescan your wallets and hopefully your coins will show back up.  If not let us know.

Thanks for answer, presstab.

My result:

What next? Thanks.

Sorry for bad English!

Tranz!

I withdrew from Cryptsy 2014-07-04 07:10:25 2536.80973425 CAP.
Coins came and confirmed (to my Reserved Wallet).
Then I sent 600 CAP from my Reserved Wallet to my PoS Wallet.
But after a while CAPs were unavailable in Reserved Wallet and in PoS Wallet.

Wallets synchronized. Wallets version - 2.1.
I waited a few days, but...
I'm lost 2536 CAP. What to do?

Help, please! Thanks.

If max reward is 1000 should I split my balance to 12.000 CAP blocks ((12000*200%)/24=1000) to get max possible PoS reward?

Best thing to do is consider max stake age of 45 days.  My formula would then be:

1000 = X * (2/365*45) --> 1000/(2/365*45) = X --> X = 4055.556

You could also change your stake target to be 15 days (the min stake time) but you are more likely to run into the max subsidy because it hardly ever stakes at that time.

Stake weight is a fairly simple calculation

(Block Age - Min Stake Age) * # of coins in block

So if I have a CAP block of 100 on day 16 then it will be: (16-15) * 100 = 100 weight

So big blocks build weight faster.

Would it be beneficial to the coin for your combined stake weight to promote the successful staking of your oldest block rather than just itself?

i have 8 blocks each around 2500 and have the same deposit date on my wallet that i transferred from Cryptsy

but only one block stakes 2 days ago and the rest didn't stake yet.

What is making me think is how come the other blocks didn't stake while they are all deposited at the same day around 10 min between each transfer.
You have an experiment running that will demonstrate "variance" pretty well.

As I understand it
The stake weight is a mechanism based on time  - the actual reward is a weighted lottery based on luck.

In my TEK explanation above I was pretty gob smacked to get a reward for a 17 TEK blok in ~1 day ..
I was expecting a couple of weeks as the stake the two blocks had come from the month prior had taken ~27 days and for that the block nearly doubled (~2 months of 40%).
but either way your first block staking diminishes your stake weight (the two new blocks are immature)
I haven't looked seriously at the mathematics, your weight might assist your oldest block or just a mass of blocks with weight raises the chance of any individual block staking.
That's one for Tranz - Presstab and the guys that really get into it.

Hello,

I hope someone can help me understand staking with CAPS.  I've had my wallet open since stake date initially started.  My stake started at 4 days, then went to 2 days, then 1 day, and back to 2 days several times.

When do I officially receive the coins from staking?

Also, there is no straight forward answer on nearly every other POS coin through Google search.

Thanks.
Sounds like you have a relatively small stake weight (slowly growing) which is in competition with the network stake weight (which is constantly changing).
There is in absolute time to stake that 4 day / 2 day number is a guestimate of a 50% chance, so only use it as a guide to how much competition there is going on in the network.
In the long run it doesn't matter as the longer a block waited to stake the more reward it gets.(ish)

I can give you a pretty clear example from my TEK wallet which has very sparse blocks unlike my HBN wallet which has 100s constantly staking

I had two small blocks of ~17 coin mature at the same time, one staked a day later an earned ~7TEK (~40%) the other waited for another 4 days and received ~7.8TEK (~45%),
So all is good, a bit more for the extra patience.

The only down side of the extra days waiting is that in the long run compound interest is lost for a day or so each staking round so every now and then its worth recombining your blocks
into larger ones to take the load off your client if you have 1000s of blocks and keep your blocks staking relatively quickly.

Ah ok, so just continue to wait, right?  I started with 150 CAPS to see how I like staking...

this just happened like 2 hours ago my time- nvc?

this is just an old reference in the debug outputs.

you should indeed read cap there

Meaning this is just a display overlook in the debug section? Or is it a client wide internal overlook (meaning i thought that the debug section was just that a debug of the whole client and more)?

Just 2 lines of code.

And now it is updated!  Cheesy

May the force bit with you.

Yep. Confirming v2.1 works for me.  Thanks for all your work on this Tranz.  I see a lot of improvements since v1.52.

The only issue I'd like to report is a highlighted message at the top of the Overview page stating that "Info: Minting suspended due to locked wallet" when in fact the wallet is unlocked and staking.

Thanks I actually meant to remove that, as we now have the staking icon.

Removed this message.
