I'm sure you have been testing different pools.

Also I just realized, with a little single running at 30 ghs you should be making 0.17355231 per 24 hours and not .23, how did you come up with that number?

Eclipse said I was running at 40gh/s

As Zanatos said, a pools reported hashrate is just an estimate. Your miner was probably having really good luck, finding lots of shares. Wait an hour, and Eclipse might report you as having 20GH/s. What does CGMiner say your hashrate is?

The fact is, 30GH/s should average 0.17BTC/day. So your estimated earnings of 0.15 are pretty close, and as you continue to mine, it will level out even more. As I mentioned earlier, your first 24-48 hours might be lower than expected, by after a few days you should see some consistent income.

Pool luck also has a bit to do with it. You might have good days, you might have bad. We all know you're a greedy bastard who wants every single bitcent out of your pools, but that's not how it works.

TL;DR Stop whining about a 0.02BTC loss in one day. Just set it to mine, and leave it alone. It will eventually average out.
Ok, now I get it.

Thats just an estimate depending on how many shares you submit in a certain time period. I have had my 10Gh show as much as 24 before because my miner was working, but the reporting was behind.  When it finally caught up and calculated how many shares I submitted it thought I was cranking more than I actually was.  Look at your miner and the hash rate its putting out for a better accruate measure of what your rate is.

I'm still encouraging you to test btcguild. I think PPS adjust the payments to the average pool luck. If the pool has had too much bad luck it will pay less because it doesn't have the btc to pay. Therefor payments on the largest pool are much more predictable, and it usually has better luck than smaller pools.

I started using slush in 2011. I used it until deepbit became more popular and after I test it I realized I was making more btc there. After that the same thing happened with btcguild.

Whats the point in no fees when you are getting 35% less than you should?

I don't want it to seem like I'm doing nothing. I've been switching pools, I just started btcguild an hour ago. We'll see what it's like ending 7:30 tomorrow. Thanks! Cheesy

Still not making the amount I should be!  Angry
Making 0.15BTC when according to the hashrate calculator and the charts at eclipse I should be making 0.23BTC!

I'd run at Eligius with that much hashrate and if you plan on mining for a long time, if the variance with luck bothers you then you can eat the 3% fee and join BTCGuild with PPLNS. Like others have said, there isn't much you can do with the Single outside of flashing it. It might help if you installed some better fans or got a AC, At least it will make the hardware last longer.

Update:

I'm going to split the reward among everybody. I'll pay the transaction fees. It won't be much since the .05 (maybe .08) bitcoins are gonna be spread. I'm doing this because it's not fair to leave people out. Leave your bitcoin address if you can haz donatez!

Any way to increase my performance on pps with my current bfgminer script?! What more can I do to get the most efficient amount of bitcoin is the question. I run my little single bfl miner 24/7 if that helps

I dont believe so.  You arent using any GPU's thus nothing to overclock. I havent seen anything out there about how to flash the firmware on single yet (unlike flashing a Jalapeno) so pretty much they are what they are.  90% of the stuff in your config file can be deleted as they are for controlling GPUs and have no affect on your single.

I split between BTCGuild (PPLNS) and Eligius.   Both pay out NMC so that's a bonus.

BTCGuild seems to be a little more lucky due to it's HUGE share of the network, but Eligius is good in that there's no fees.  Both give me similar results.  Both are pretty solid as far as reliability is concerned.  Eligius' stats are work-in-progress, where BTCGuild's stats are slick.

I have 90GH/s (with more coming. Hurry up!), and I split it between 3 pools. Use "balance" rather than "load-balance". It works so much better.

I use Ozcoin, Slush, and BitMinter, but you could use 50BTC, BTCGuild, EMC, or any of the other major pools. Each one reports right around 30GH/s, which is to be expected. Actually splits the hashrate fairly evenly, which is nice. It's also nice that all 3 pools get the same hashrate, and pay out roughly the same amount over the long-haul.

Remember that DGM can take a day or so to fully ramp up your earnings. Similar to PPLNS (which is also an acceptable payout method, IMO), DGM pays you for previous rounds. As soon as your pool finds a block, your payout for the next round is not set to zero, but instead carries some earnings over from the previous rounds. When you first start mining, you have no previous rounds to add to your payout, so you will earn very little for the first day or two. Then the opposite is true: you can stop mining on Ozcoin DGM right now, and you would continue to get earnings for the next several hours as Ozcoin finds blocks. (EDIT: Example: Ozcoin just found a block. It's been 2 minutes, and I already have an estimated payout of .024BTC for this round that just started. It carried over part of my score from the last round into this one.) It ends up evening out in the end. However, this can take a week or more to balance out. You will be paid for your full hashrate, but it will take some time.

And lastly, if you give it a week, and you still don't think that your pool is treating you fairly, try switching pools. giving the new pool(s) a week, and see if anything's different.

NameCoin is aproximatly +2% to your profit

Good Luck  Wink

Load balancing is enabled in bfl miner.  Does load balancing mean that it's hashrate divided by number of pools in the .config file? This is my bfgminer config. Should I "load-balance" : false, so my hashrate doesn't spread accross over 3 pools since I'm using pps? I'm leaning towards; yes??

My goal is to list a few pools in the config so if one goes down another will pick up my mining work. UNLESS there's a benefit to load balancing!!

Is that why I was getting such poor rewards with dgm mining??? Because I had 3 pools listed with load balancing???

Miner Setup And Reviews. WASP Rep.
I would use slush's pool. Great owner and a great pool.
Also the software used to run shouldn't matter. I would recommend trying both and comparing stability etc.

50btc seems legit. I don't want to pay any fees I don't have to so btcguild's 8% commission "pps+commission" seems out of the question. I'll give 50BTC a try.

What is better for my 30gh/s little single. BFG Miner or CgMiner? I'm guessing it doesn't matter?

If the pool you are mining on is weak or gets DDOS, You will bleed mining profit.

you can always use --failover-only in cgminer to have a backup server/pool in case it gets ddosed...

50BTC.com on pay per share netted me the best payout while mining!

Go check out 50BTC.com man. You'll be happier there!

I'm not the only fan, check bitcoincharts, most of the btc comunity uses btcguild, and it has being like that for a long time, I figured there must be a reason for it...

Other than that it works quite well, my jalapeño should be doing 0.0422 at current dificulty and I get 0.038/0.04 (depending how fast he decides to hash) every 24 hours... You actually get what its advertised, and never experienced a down in service since I started using it...

Lately with the difficulty increasing rapidly I being having tough luck with PPLNS even on btcguild that has the majority of the network, so I switced to pps and never looked back...

If anyone has a better pool feel free to mention it here...
