After ico oftentimes a week or a month after, and sometines no distribution happen when turn out to be scam project. joining bounties needed much patience it takes a while before you see the fruit of your hardwork.. If you want to avoid waiting too long choose bounty that nearly to end but expect little rewards for that.
Awards are paid mainly within 15-45 days after the end of the ICO. But it happens that there are rascals, such as Envion, who since February 14 can not pay the received awards to their participants.

It depends on how long they will held their ICO period. There are bounties that are taking 1-3 months or longer and for those that are cancelling their bounty, they can see that they won't reach their hard/soft cap. Is take week or month, or sometime cancel bounty.
Bounty distribution usually takes 1 month after ICO, depending on the project you are participating, if bounty fails mid way it seems rare, it seems to move to web bounty platform like(bountyhive, bountyplatform, etc) and there is a special notice from bounty manager in post bounty.This is very common because it requires proper analysis and auditing to be equitable division.
