^^ Let's see about the outcome of the lawsuit and counter lawsuit, I'm under the impression that this case will be dismissed or throw by the judge.

Let them settle the score in the old way by fighting in the ring.

I saw though a video of Ryan trying against Anpo with the speed bag, it might be prior to his reported injuries though. So all thing points to Ryan right now to proved that he had suffered. And as per Bill Haney,

Did that Oscar De La Hoya Golden Boy handcuff break his wrist? 🧐

Or did he pull out because he couldn’t hit that
153 pound exhibition limit?” 🤷🏽‍♂️

https://x.com/BillHaney77/status/1869073119300006293

And Ryan Garcia responded like a Gangsta,  Grin

https://x.com/RyanGarcia/status/1869252707577651388

But I do agree, one way to really settle their difference is in the ring with a rematch. And if Ryan is sure that he is clear then he should allow himself to be supervise under VADA and test him unannounced and get blood or urine sample.

At least he can proved that he really didn't take any performance enhancing drug in their first fight.

Speaking of Ryan Garcia, Ryan Garcia Hits Haney With $7.5M Counterclaim

Quote
Ryan Garcia has filed a $7.5 million counterclaim to Devin Haney’s lawsuit, which accused him of battery, fraud and unjust enrichment.

Haney’s lawsuit came after Garcia’s failed VADA tests for Ostarine. Ryan’s win became a no-contest, as he received a year ban. Haney was dropped three times in the Garcia fight. Garcia also failed to make the 140-pound weight limit. Haney’s commercial brand suffered. Devin vacated his WBC Junior Welterweight Title. This was after only Top Tank made a purse bid for his WBC mandatory Sandor Martin.

https://www.fightsports.tv/ryan-garcia-hits-haney-with-7-5m-counterclaim/

And I don't know what it took Ryan months to make the counter claim. Perhaps we wants to make sure that he has proved before filing this counter claims. In any case, the drama still continues with both parties are they took it outside of the boxing ring right now and go to court.

But the last laugh though is still with the Haney's as they are the first one to file the case and they really took it personally when Devin Haney gets humbled as he gets knockdown and lost the fight and getting his 0 taken away by Ryan.

Ryan Garcia seems like he's paying the price for the insanity that led up to the Haney fight.  He caught how many lawsuits since that fight?  I guess Logan Paul dropped his Prime lawsuit after Ryan was making nice on social media.  He's lucky because that could have bankrupted him.  This Haney lawsuit seems more to me about saving face and trying to salvage his legacy.  Fighting people like Rukiya Anpo isn't going to do much to help there, but hopefully we get to see a good knockout.

It just weird though, I think he only caught one lawsuit and it was from the Haney's themselves. But from what I read,

Quote
Garcia’s attorney claimed after the Haneys called their client a coward and cheater for not agreeing to a rematch requiring Voluntary Anti Doping Association drug screening, “[The Haneys] may want to settle personal scores, but their abuse of the judicial process and harassment of Garcia has cost Garcia to the tune of millions of dollars and they must be held accountable.”

https://www.essentiallysports.com/boxing-news-ryan-garcia-counterclaims-devin-haney-for-seven-point-five-million-in-damages-per-reports/

Haney wanted a rematch, but Ryan doesn't want to because they will have to VADA testing. And probably this is the reason why they file the case in the first place. We thought that Haney doesn't want to go for a rematch, but it was the other way around.

For anyone who saw the video fight between Ryan and Haney, people see who won the bout. Regardless of those lawsuits and all, they fight and we saw how the beat up goes. Devin showed how fake his records are compared to the guys Ryan fought. If they fight again, Devvin may have prepared well for Ryan's left already but we shall see.

Cancellation of fights is a trend in any combat sports. For all we know, Oscar may have something to do with this. Maybe he wants the exhibition under the Golden Boy Promotion?

This exhibition fight is so secretly, that wikipedia has no information about it Cheesy
there is, you just didn't seach well.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_in_Rizin_Fighting_Federation

What is in Anpo head or what is he planning? This summer he fought Manny Pacquiao and lost (however it is draw in records, as Manny did not KO him). Now Garcia. Wants to have a fight against every popular boxer ? Cheesy Wants to have a draw against Garcia, and then tell everyone that he, a kickboxer, had a boxing fight against top boxer and did not lose ? Cheesy
Anpo is obviously in it for the money. He wasn’t even the original opponent for Manny - he was just a replacement. But now he’s benefiting from that opportunity as he gets to fight Ryan Garcia, a very well-known boxer. Even if he can’t beat Ryan, the money is already guaranteed, and it might open doors for more fights in the future.

Exhibition fights are just for entertainment. If we don’t enjoy them, we can simply ignore them.

I was looking more in Ryan Garcia page and found nothing Cheesy A secret fight that should not get outside Japan Cheesy Its two weeks before the event and so little info about Garcia vs Anpo fight. It is not even n the card. 3 title fights, that enough already to make event huge. Adding a boxing fight with such a huge star, he would drag lots of attention from event main stars; such huge star needs more promotion, or like I've said, it will be a secret fight Cheesy

It’s hard to ignore, honestly, since Ryan is such a popular boxer. As fans, we naturally want to know what he’s up to during his suspension, and here he is.. probably bored, looking for action, and wanting to beat the boxer who hurt his idol, Manny.

If I’m interested in this fight, it’s mainly because I’d love to see Ryan teach Anpo an unforgettable lesson for hurting an old legend.

"I've been eagerly preparing for my upcoming exhibition fight in Japan, training hard in Dallas over the past several weeks," Garcia said on social media. "Unfortunately, I sustained a hand injury during training and returned to Los Angeles to be seen by the doctor."
Source

So this one isnt cancelled but its been delayed on early 2025 on which it is really that already long. I do agree that Anpo might not be a fighter but this man could
possibly make some good fight if not taken up seriously.

I don't think Ryan will cancel or back out of this fight; the ban will be lifted in April, so an exhibition fight in February is a conditioning one to take out the rust in case The Golden Boy sets him up for a tough fight in his comeback fight, and if there's a rematch against Haney, he needs to be in tip-top shape.
I also agree that Anpo is not an easy fight; based on what I saw in his fight against Pacquiao, he is a hungry, disrespectful fighter, so its a match made for these two fighters both of whom are hungry and disrespectful.

But as reported and confirmed by Golden Boy, that Ryan didn't ask for their permission to fight in Japan with Anpo. And we all know that Ryan has a binding contract with Golden Boy so there is some question whether he had that injury or maybe he was advise by his lawyer or anyone close to him that he shouldn't go with the fight as he might get sued by Golden Boy.

In any case, his suspension will be up till April, so he really needs to take some tune up fight to shake that ring rust and this could be that one for Ryan. Unfortunately, it's not going to happen and if his injuries is real, then he will have to wait then.

Forgot about Garcia, saw this topic and remembered, that after he has won (later turns that he has lost, but everyone remember Devin Haney as cry boy), he was suspended for one year after doping was found in his blood. As well as he was expelled from WBC. All that has happened this summer if I am not mistaken. And it was a case when he has smashed hotel room, wasnt he sentence for several months or a year? Now he fights in several weeks. How did he got his license back? How this even is possible?

He is still under suspension so he hasn't get back his license. This is just a exhibition match for him so there's no need for him to have a license and this fight is going to be held in Japan not in the US and not under any supervision of any governing body.

Another high-profile fight gets postponed due to alleged wrist pain suffered by Ryan Garcia. I have not heard of a fight being cancelled for this reason before, so it makes me wonder if there is something more to this. Ryan might not have been training properly and, with only two weeks to go, could be looking for an excuse to delay the exhibition. Anpo might not be a world-class boxer, but if you are not taking the fight seriously, then he is capable of making you look bad.

Maybe they just need more time to come to an agreement with Golden Boy. Whatever the reason may be, I am really skeptical that an injury is the real cause of the postponement.

I am trying to look for some links about this postponement news about Garcia vs Anpo exhibition fight because of some wrist injury. I dont have much some track with Garcia past injuries and making postponement. I do agree somehow that there's possible reason about delaying it out or having some conflict with GB? I did make out some search about this and find this one.

Thanks for the update, but for me, Oscar stopped this s**t, hehehe, and it was very obvious since Oscar didn't had the blessings of this fight right?

No, he hasn’t gotten his license back yet, but he can still fight since this is just an exhibition match, which doesn’t require a license.

This could serve as his tune-up fight because once his suspension is over next year, he’ll be fit and ready to fight, having stayed in training. I’m sure he won’t take Anpo lightly as we saw him fight Pacman, and he’s got some power. That motivation will help Garcia avoid rust despite the one-year suspension. In fact, if this exhibition happens this month, I think we’ll see more from him next year.

Thanks for the update, I would only speculate on the latter, that Garcia didn't ask the blessings of Oscar Dela Hoya for this fight and sure enough they will have to find a way to get out of this fight, and not they are citing a wrist injury.

In any case, if they want this to make formal, then include Golden Boy in the negotiations if Ryan still wanted to make this fight before his suspension could be lift off in the 1st of second quarter of the year. And if he is truly injured, then it's too bad, he need that to be fully healed before he comes back in the pro rank again.

Probably this is just another story board that Ryan Garcia wanted to bring out so it will create more hype in bringing Pacquaio's name in the table. But it has nothing to do with the fight, it's all about the money that he will be making. Ryan might have been offered like $5m-$10 here I reckon. And with that kind of money, you can't really refuse as Ryan can beat Anpo easy.

I don’t know, we’ve all seen how Pacman struggled against Anpo, and now people want him to fight Ryan Garcia? Honestly, I don’t see that happening. No disrespect to Pacman, he’s a legend, the only 8-division champion... but let’s face it, he’s not young anymore, so (really i doubt) beating a young and former champion like Ryan? That’s a tough ask, even for him. Age catches up with everyone, even the greats.
It's different though, as much as we love Pacman, it seems that he didn't train hard for this fight and the weight class perhaps maybe too much for Manny. And obviously the age and inactivity and Anpo did hit Manny a couple of times. But here is totally different, Ryan is still in his prime, although didn't box obviously because he is still under suspension, but still though he is boxer and so Anpo might have a difficult time dealing with Ryan's speed and power. Although Anpo started to trash talk which he didn't do to Manny. So says F** Y** to Ryan during the press conference so let's see if he can back that trash talking or be another knockout victim of Ryan's power.

I'm looking for the latest update on this fight if the fight will push through but the latest update was two days ago, we haven't heard on Oscar Dela Hoya on what his stance, and since both fighters are raring to go, I'm sure Oscar will give in because he doesn't want Ryan to be inactive for a long time as it will harm his condition when the time for him to fight top contenders in his division.
If the fight happens I have Ryan winning probably by knockout, if he is not restrain from hurting Anpo, I have seen Anpo fight and he has a weak defense that Ryan offense can easily gets in.

Yes, his stance is obviously no go for this fight as he was not informed.

But maybe if Ryan or any of his representative can talk to Oscar for sure they can sort things out and make this fight official. But let's see, it looks like the Japanese that handle this fight has made everything already, so it's hard to back it out.

Of course we will have Ryan here winning by knockout, although the fight is at 153 lbs and we haven't yet see Ryan moving as high as this weight class and maybe he can't carry his power on Jr. Middleweight.
There’s no way GBP would say no to this fight, it’s a guaranteed moneymaker for the promotion. Why wouldn’t they approve it? Plus, Ryan can easily handle his opponent, so there’s no real concern about him getting injured or delaying his return after the suspension is over. Maybe GBP just wants us to keep talking about it to build more hype. And you know, the more hype the fight gets, the bigger the chance it’ll generate higher revenue.
