@FinneysTrueVision - True, Davis has a lot of options in 135 lbs, but everyone is busy fighting other fighters. Perhaps his team wanted him to stay busy this year and doesn't want to wait. Davis has a history of not making weight, so now at 140 lbs, he will be comfortable or at least doesn't have to cut weight.

This is a match to watch almost an even match, I expect a knockout here and it could go either way, Barrios has a height and reach advantage both of them can knock their opponent with one punch I have seen both fighters in their highlights and both Davis and Barrios have a good resume this will be Davis biggest challenge so far and so is for Davis, whoever wins here could treat this as a legacy win and will be lining up for bigger paychecks in their next fights.

I've watched Barrios highlights and it seems that he has the ability to throw a right hook + overhand right, it's in between and this is his power punch. And then he also has this body shot that put his opponents down grimacing in pain.

But he doesn't have a good defense except moving his head left and right and Davis might exploit this loophole. So credit to Tank Davis for stepping to 140 lbs and fighting one of the best.

I'm not too excited about this fight. Tank has some great options at 135 but he continues to avoid those fighters. He is only fighting secondary champions to polish his resume but we know the WBA just hands out titles like it's nothing, they have 3 champions per weight class. It really does not mean anything that he is a "world" champion in 4 weight classes. If they want to make him a pay-per-view star and selling out stadiums then he should be fighting against legitimate champions.

He can't avoid those 135 lbs, sooner or later those are going to move up as well. Teofimo Lopez for one has shows intentions to go to 140 after the Kambosos fight, so we will see. But I agree that this is a cherry pick fight for Davis. The solid WBA champion is Josh Taylor, they just have to give up another so called belt and now Davis has the chance to annex that and call himself a three division champion. And I want to see if he can take a punch as well coming from a legit 140 pounder, which might re-hydrate to 150 lbs fight night.

that might just what Davis thinks but barrios isn't easy. barrios is a very careful fighter and will just wait to counter. he could be thinking that way because barrios aren't as famous as him. wanna see Floyd's face when Davis lay flat on the floor.

it's not easy to come out of the comfort zone like moving up a weight class. some boxers can't adapt quickly and resulted in a loss.

I agree, this is no push-over fight, Barrios will still pose a threat to Davis. This is his first time to move in weight so he has the disadvantage here. Barrios will use his reach advantage for this fight for sure and will not engage Davis in close fight because he knows the power.

Davis could be the clear favourite when betting odds are available, but I would say that Barrios is a live dog here and Tank shouldn't underestimate him. This is Barrios division, so for me this is just as exciting as Taylor vs Ramirez fight in this weight class.

One thing that caught my attention is that Barrios is tall, at 5'10'' in height so obviously, he has the reach and height advantage against Davis. No doubt that Davis can carry over his power in this division, as his monicker, Tank, his body is so compressed that's why he got his power. Plus he has the speed as well.

This will be a tough call, but I think Davis will pressure Barrios here, just like what he did against Leo Sta Cruz. So this will be an action pack fight, and I will go with Davis as well to win by another upper cut knock out punch.

Obviously, I would go with Davis here. I’ll place my bets on him. I just hope that greater odds will be given by the bookmakers for this match. Good luck!

Pre-match voting looks like Davis will be the favorites here.

Although that was just based on the fan's view, it's still a good reference. Good luck hunting good odds for Davis. Barrios on the other hand is already specialized in a 140lbs weight division although adjustments should be easy for his opponent, the Tank.

Do you think, which of these fighters the odds will favor?
The Tank is in favor of this match in my opinion. He already has his advantage coming from the lightweight division against Mario. But we all know that they both have given great performances in their previous fights. Both of them are undefeated and this is where a record will surely be ruined (unless they will have a draw and I don’t think that is possible).

Well, I am waiting for the time where the winner will be announced and will fight against Mikey Garcia.
Mikey Garcia dreams of not just fighting against Manny Pacquaio but also with the winner of this match. That is why I am eye-in on this match very much as it would be connected to great times in boxing. Going back, people say that what Tank is doing is almost the same as Manny Pacquiao’s past moves. Fighting title holders on a different division might be cool!

Hmm, it's a match to look forward to, if I have to bet, I believe Barrios will have a win here, Barrios has a slight advantage over Davis as you would say, but I think it will be a real match difficulty. As we all know, Davis really has the talent and the nerve to win if Barrios is careless. Davis was also really reckless when he decided to change his weight class. Although he won the old weight class, this move can really create a turning point for both of them.

Gervonta "Tank" Davis decided to go and move to 140 lbs division and is going to challenge undefeated WBA regular champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios.

We all know that Davis is one of the 4 kings of the 135 lbs but it seems that he will leave that division and try to get his hands for a third belt in 140 lbs.

The big question is if he can bring his power in this weight classes and it will be interesting that we have Taylor and Ramirez fighting for unification this weekend. Josh Taylor is the WBA 140 lbs super champion.

So we might see the winner of Taylor vs Ramirez fighting Davis too in the future.

It will be another big fight for Davis, but I think he can win against Barrios via knockout as I believed that he can carry his power and he will be comfortable as there's not much of a weight drain to meet the weight.

Betting odds are not out yet.
