Based on the current markets, very unlikely and to be honest I do not wish that fast acceleration at this point. I hope to see the price climbing up slowly slowly as long as possible. When the growth starts to accelerate, we know what is going to happen.

Price gaining slowly is best for any commodities including cryptos. The faster the price gains, the harder it falls. It is best for the growth to be slow and be consistent.
I highly doubt whether we will see 1000$ mark for bitcoin this December.

At this point , the only thing that I see achievable is 800$ or 850$ at max by Christmas . I mean It could happen If something triggers it otherwise It should stay as it it or increase a little bit.
As you said too , If it increase too much and too fast then It will go to the ground faster and we don't want to see that , there is nothing better then an increase with stability.

I predicted around 800 dollar and we are there about right now. Today we just passed for a moment just above the 800 dollar on C-cex; I think it must be possible to get 1000 dollar for Christmas next year. That should be nice.

CCEX is an exchange that no one takes seriously. Even not when the price there reaches $900 tomorrow. That exchange is just too insignificant. I think it's surely possible that somwhere next year we'll finally see 4 figure prices again. It gives the price enough time to build up support levels to make reaching $1000 very likely. I just hope we don't see more hacked exchanges....

just one more week until Christmas... dont think we will reach $1k.... $800 maybe....
Yes, I think so, only one week not could probably could reach $1,000. It looks like this will occur in 2017, however this is a good time to buy a bitcoin, I'm sure the price will continue go up.

I'm losing my hope now that the price of bitcoin will reach $1,000 before the Christmas eve. So my another hope is to accept the fact that bitcoin is possible to reach $800 before the end of the year. And let's just hope for the next year to come that bitcoin is going to reach that $1,000 mark.

It could happen overnight, though if it is going to happen at all, it will likely take more time than that. Some two months ago the price had risen from $600 to over $700 in just a few weeks, so the prices of either $900 or $1,000 wouldn't be something out of the ordinary. That said, we should still be glad if the price just reaches the $800 level by the New Year, then we could hope that in the new year it will finally take the $1,000 barrier.

But we have now only almost a week before the Christmas day come. No more hopes for $1,000 and now its better to aim something lower than that is more acceptable and yes $800 is. And the price now is, $786. $14 dollars more before it reaches and we have still ample time that it is going to happen before Christmas day.

800 is realistic price for Xmas for the moment don't think it will be over or near 1000 by Xmas no way it can happen in just one week
in just 2 weeks to be exact. I do agree, now we are on 800 so it is really achievement the prices getting higher and higher! Well 1k is very impossible in just 2 weeks it will stay at the line of 8 by the end of the year. Well we cant really predict if that will happen that it will be in 1k by the end so lets just watch/

Will we find this gift under our tree?

It will be good if I have a tree as at Christmas and that gift just show up all of a sudden. I will be more glad to see that happen because looking at the grand, its really moving in that direction and its something that will be close to that if we can't achieve that but the most important is not meeting that at Christmas but keeping it at that or even higher after that...

If I were you, I wouldn't just take for granted that we will reach the $800 level by Christmas. Right now the patterns are quite similar to how it was before the block halving when we were about to reach $800. People were speculating about it to happen within an x amount of hours, but we all know what happened after that. First let's reach $800 and settle above that level, and repeat the same thing when we reach $900, and after that we'll start speculating about reaching the $1000 level.

But today we don't have the block halving right around the corner. Many people had been warning in the spring and early summer of 2016 that the price would drop right before the halving just because traders would be fixing profits they had obtained from the rally that lasted almost 9 months since the fall of 2015. In my view, there is no plausible reason to think or expect that the price should fall almost 200 dollars again as it did after the July halving.

Chances are there for it to happen, but yes, just because the chances are there, or the situation is similar to a certain extent, it still doesn't mean that it will actually happen. But as it stands right now, the market is waiting for someone (big player) to pull the trigger. It's that, or traders will dump out of boredom. But then again, I didn't say it will drop $200. It's impossible to say such a thing as Bitfinex was part of the problem for that drop. Sub $700 is what I am focusing on.

It seems to me that traders are just waiting for a serious correction because we have been on the rising trend for over three months already without a major correction. I refer to early September when the price had started its current rally from around $570 per coin, an aftermath of the Bitfinex incident. Ironically, I myself placed piles of buying orders from just below $700 and down to $650.

The highest I think it can go right now is $850 before Christmas, the way the price is trending as of the moment but hitting the $1000 mark is really far fetched.

Christmas will be a few more days to arrive. Well, many of which have to be prepared at the time, especially bitcoin. I'm not sure at the time of Christmas, bitcoin prices reached a price of $ 1000, but I would argue that the price will not be much of a price of $ 1,000. Well, the price will go up very quickly before the end of the year, I believe it  Grin

This is every ones waiting for to come this coming Christmas season yet to those who anticipated they will get frustration of what will happen.

so better not, but then guessing of bitcoin for this coming year is for sure higher than now because of fast or rapidly growing or increasing value of it.

The possibility of crossing the thousand dollar mark by Christmas is a real possibility but you can never expect the price would be stable by the time because you would see massive sell off if the prices crosses the magic figure.

What the he11 are you talking about !? Christmas time is almost here and crossing $800 will be success! Who think about investments now? If Bitcoin will reach $900 in March will be very good result for everyone!
Most users in the forum want to see a big rally and earn some money out of it, I don't think we will reach it but there is nothing wrong with dreaming with that happening since everyone could use some extra money in Christmas.

Some things will never change...

I would be happy if we can hold 750 for at least 6 months. It would be an remarkable effort.

I don't own enough for me to start spanking it over such a thought.  It certainly would be nice--and it's most definitely possible.  I almost went to the beach last year at Christmas, because it was about 70 degrees F in New England.  You just never know.

No I don't think so. $800 seems a strong resistance so I only see two possible scenarios: a stable price at the current level, or maybe a small correction around $750.

For Xmas price realistic is to hit little over $800 to go over 1000 is little to much at this point. Dont think we can expect to see price goes over 1000 but to see 800 is really realistic in 10 day we can expect to see that price over 800 maybe in some range of 820-850 that would be great and good to see.

I agree that a realistic price for Xmas is to cross the line of $800 if it has the ability to surpass its annual high of $781. A sky-scraping price it is possible after a short time to lead the bitcoin price to go down. In my opinion is better to have small and steady raise of the price.

It gonna be little more than that but over 800 is for sure no doubt  about it
I also think we can see 1000 just in end of next month January
