What a joke adding dash scam. Are BTC-E even that big news these days?

I'm pretty sure anyone who wanted a sack of scam coins could have picked them up in the last 2 years.

BTC-E adds coins that provide incentives pay them bribes to be listed.  That's why Novacoin is there.

Novacoin is there because it is an old coin - early 2013. Back then there were only a few dozen alts, and BTC-E listed them all (and then delisted the non performers). Then in about Oct 2013 they stopped adding new coins. So lots of coins that had a lot of volume at one point (Doge, Blackcoin, Dash, etc) didn't get listed.

They were concentrating on the Bitcoin market - but seem to have decided to get back into alts again.

BTC-E did not list all coins available.  You must have confused them with Vircurex (the Cryptsy of 2013)!   Grin

IIRC, BTC-E admitted Novacoin bribed them, outrage ensured, and they finally agreed to burn their bribe coins.

Btc-e had added their first new trading pairs in years.

Today they announced adding eth and dash paired to btc.

Seems like they want to be in on the volume.

I remember what happened to Ftc after they added it too xD

Dash will be as successful on BTC-E as Terracoin was!   Cheesy

DASH has been getting some attention from Russian scam exchanges like Livecoin.  Those holding ~free instamined Dash are probably using them to pay for listings in order to pump the value of their remaining bags while dumping them on greater fools in new markets.

Monero wasn't instamined, so any listing bribes must be contributed at full market value by the community.

Since everyone now knows all about Dash's instamine and emission-reduction scandal, it's volume is shrinking and future is gloomy.

BTC-E will delist Dash for low volume in less time than Feathercoin lasted.   Cheesy

Ha Smiley Save your post coital pillow talk for later.

Now to be serious. It is good for you guys you got there. Well done. However, watch out that this recent up tick in dash price was not them accumulating and now they start to gradually dump out over time.... let's wait and see.

BTC-e probably doesn't add coins on a regular basis in order to avoid stuff that happened to cryptsy (if their story is true).

They only use seriously vetted software to make sure nobody gains access to their systems through leaks in the wallet software.

Not sure why they added dash, but then again, it is one of the higher volume coins so that is probably the reason.
Odd,  Dash does so little volume on yobit that half the time my orders take forever to get filled.  Most get only partially filled.   But maybe that's just yobit.

You do realize that Dash's trading volume on YoBit is less than 0.1 BTC? Smiley

P.S. Dash already up by ~10%.

Not surprised that they added ETH as it has nice volume and will likely continue to. I do not really follow many alts, but DASH seems to have a pretty decent trade volume. I hope this does not add to the childish arguments between DASH and Monero...both communities are annoying with the constant bickering.

Nothing surprising in their decision, though personally I don't like Dash for several reasons. I believe that they will list other coins as well.

it is actually pretty surprising to me. not because they have added these coins but i am surprised why they added these coins "now"?!

dash has been traded for a very long time and the price and volume was a decent value, and ETH goes without saying that this coin had the biggest hype which lead to the biggest pump and dump of this year so far. they have missed a lot of trading fee in the past couple of months.

It could be surprising if you expect cryptocurrencies to survive for a few more years. Exchanges like BTC-e, Bitstamp, OKCoin and Coinbase are running serious businesses (though Poloniex surpassed them all (of course I'm not claiming that Polo is not serious!) Grin), and I believe that they are here for the long run. You must be very cafefull in order to survive in cryptoworld. Every decision can be vital for your future.

Wow, this is very unexpected! I thought they'd never even consider adding anything other than what they had over all the years.

I believe there are far better alternatives for this, but not with a huge enough marketcap/liquidity.

When BTC-E started (back in 2012 I think), they added all the alts in existence at the time, even devcoin was there. I think the last alt to be added  was Feathercoin in 2013, and they removed some of the older non-performing coins.

Then they stopped adding coins. Doge started in Dec 2013, when that huge bitcoin surge to $1000 was building, but I think BTC-E decided that Bitcoin was going to break out and there was no more need for alts, and refused to add any more (and didn't add doge).

So it means they've changed their mind in a fundamental way - they arn't sure that Bitcoin is going to win, and they're hedging their bets...

All we need now is for Coinbase to add alts and we know that there is trouble brewing for BTC.

interesting view, i didn't consider this till now.

Why would they add Darkcoin?  Didn't Finex de-list Darkcoin because nobody used it?  My theory is that the shady Russians wanted some type of mixer for their scandalous activities and aren't convinced a monero wallet will ever come out.

Exactly. Doesn't matter that monero offers total anonymity, it will never go anywhere as a currency or a store of value. They simply forked their tech and never progressed with anything except bugfixes, no marketing and also no features.

and no decent wallet.

there's no doubt that ETH and DASH are projects of much different calibre (just look at the code!) compared to crippled coins alive only on this forum and only thanks to some obsessed (or paid?) troll

This is what I thought  Wink
