I lost a lot of money when I transferred bitcoin to BTC-E. I came across an article on Google ‘how to by litecoin with bitcoin’  I was able to transfer money in but when I wanted to take it out they wouldn’t let me; they came up with excuses asking me to wait and then they wanted me to scan my ID. I knew then it was a fraud and that they were not only going to refrain from giving my money back but they probably wanted to do identity theft. I had over 6700 in litecoin; Can someone email me and try to help me get my investments back?

You are entitled to your opinions but don't call anyone here a troll. Lots of people have no access to their funds because of BTC-E issues in the past and after the recent shutdown and we will definitely continue planning our course of action together.

Such a bunch of trolls, never seen anything like it.

If you had bothered to read the updates on the BTC-e site   https://btc-e.nz/news/5

you would know that the support ticketing system is supposed to go online sometime later today for the first time since the site was resurrected a week ago.

Yet you persist with such nonsense as if there has been some giant scam going on.

The only giant scam I can see is the FBI seizing the btc-e.com severs in the first place under a dubious search warrant.
Where is the legal battle against that?
Why did OKPAY suspend the BTC-e fiat accounts? Where is the law that allowed them to do that?

Ok, I have updated the website a bit:

http://btceclaims.github.io

We are an independent community of previous BTC-E users who have been affected by hackings, scams or the shutdown of the BTC-E exchange. Together we discuss the best course of action.

If your BTC-E account was hacked any you lost funds due to security vulnerabilities with the site and the "customer service" department refuses to even reply or provide details, what is your best course of action?

Option I: Legal Action
Option II: Community Action

They need to hire better English speaking support staff.

That is one issue. What's worse is that by our estimation there are hundreds or even thousands of unsettled claims. Whenever there is a dispute their claims department tends to stop replying and then there is no recourse.

This is a serious problem and one that we will try to rectify. It is not just or fair that their business has the final say or right to ignore claims at will. They are running a traditional business and not a DAO and need to be held accountable for faults that occur on their side.

I sent an international wire to btc-e.  They credited it to my account, but they froze withdrawals for a month.  I emailed them and they responded "Hello, please attach SWIFT document" for the wire.  I called my bank and they don't know what btc-e is talking about.  They were like, there is no such thing as the "SWIFT document."

Plus, it's weird that btc-e responded to my question about frozen withdrawals by asking about the wire.  They already received it, as acknowledged by btc-e and verified by my bank.

So I sent btc-e a copy of the receipt from the wire, and I sent them the federal tracking number.

This is not a dispute yet.  Presumably I will be able to withdraw my funds, although I might have to wait.  I am posting because I would like feedback from others who have dealt with btc-e support.  The way that btc-e handles support tickets is strange.  Maybe it's just a poor command of English.  I opened a corporate account with them, had to contact support and similarly experienced a mystifying email exchange..  Their messages were so terse and cryptic, I had a hard time finding out what exactly they wanted.

Hi there Birr,

Sorry for late reply.  Have you been able to make a withdrawal yet?

Sorry I haven't been paying attention to this thread.  Yes, they enabled withdrawals.
I think there are others like me, whose difficulties were resolved, but didn't think to come back on this thread and report it.

I never lost any money there but I have heard that they just rob people when they need extra btc. they are old school scammers and if I ever get robed by them I will come here and give you all the story and I'll join the crusade. Let's not let btce rob anyone anymore tho. If you have been robbed you should post here and help others out who are in the same boat.

I have seen many complaints myself and there are so many disputed claims in existence, which is why I decided to start this group.

I have tranfer 3 deposits total 365000 usd to the bank account of Mayzus Financial Services Limited (according to the btc-e instruction) on Apr 22, Apr 23 and Apr 24. But I do not receive the money in my account until now. My bank told me the 3 funds have been sent. Btce support told me their bank account do not received any one deposit and he promised to check with bank on Apr 28. But today (Apr 29) I have no reply although I ask btce support several times.
Where is my money? How can I take my money back?

My btce account: shangguanyq.

Hi Shangguanyq,

How is it going with the deposit?
Is the support still not replying to you?

25 and 26 are no working days. Was a sepa or a swift? time is different. from what country you sent the money (on relative big amount banks are suspicios..)? I only know that i've read a lot of complaints about btc-e, my experience is positive, i never had problems in 3 years (i never made bank transfer in/out but all the other methods yes).
and i think smoothie gave you the right advice... I'll never transfer so much money without a little trial before!

Good lord, why would you ever send 365,000USD to a bank you are not near?

Why not send smaller increments over time and that way you limit your risk?
