This is something to be happy joyous about in the face of adversity which is not limited to hackers, competition, unfavorable market volatility couple with the numerous clients all over the globe with different needs and interest. In the world of crypto currency exchanges lasting 5 years is a solid achievement but would still like to see better support @ BTC-e. I can say i have never had any lasting problems thoughs.

I'm too late to come to know about 5th Anniversary of btc-e. I don't believe they have successfully up for 5 years and continuing as one of the major exchanges. Continue the same and bring more trust.

Who knows, how old is Coinbase? Though not an exchange (in the true sense of the word), but I think we can safely compare its age and longevity. If I remember correctly, BTC-e had been hacked once in the past...

But did anyone succeed at attacking Coinbase?

I'm just saying as i recall, but mt.gox, tradehill, and btc-e are the only ones i remember using back then. Suffice to say, only btc-e is alive and kicking from them.
