I can see that you are still like a newbie, try to read what others have posted before making your own post because what asked has been answered just in the beginning of this thread. The winter talked about is not about weather, it is about crypto bull and bear market, that the bear market is getting longer and still likely to get longer before bull run will start.

What's so hard to understand? This doesn't look cryptic at all. Elon is simply saying that what's happening right now in the market is something that will affect Bitcoin, but it will survive. However it might take some time. This is pretty much self-explanatory. Everybody is seeing the prices falling because of the FTX fiasco. FTX is a big ship. Its sinking will definitely create a big swirl that might pull down other crypto companies as well. All this of course will have effect on the market, Bitcoin included. It might take a year or two before we can fully recover from this.

I think so too. because if you look at it now, the world economy is going down, so it will take a long time to get back up again. but of course no one will know about the future because sometimes market situations and conditions are difficult to predict.

I still do not understand why people listen to Elon Musk. He has proven time and time again to be a huge nothing-burger. He is a completely narcissistic egomaniac with half baked inventions that do not hold water long term. Do people still think he is some sort of genius? He does exactly what Steve Jobs did. Hypes up his products and his own image without having achieved anything himself. Sure, he duped people in buying his products but being a sleazy entrepreneur with no moral compass is not impressive.

I very much doubt Elon Musks understands Bitcoin or its potential. If he did, he would not be hyping memecoins.

Long bear market.
That's all he meant to say so brace yourself and be patient with the market as we don't know how long this bear market will exist for this season.
It may take another 2 years and it will just come to an end when the halving comes and that's the cycle where we usually say the uptrend comes. And hopefully, when it comes, you and most of us have stocked up a lot of bitcoins even not a whole of it but, just a great accumulation that we're able to buy and DCA while it's on a bear market. You actually don't have to figure it out because even if Elon is influential to the market, no one can beat this market and he's just giving an opinion, not a fact about the bear season although it's fact for bitcoin.

I don't think so, if you remember before, Elon Musk having fun on his Twitter-like tweeting some random tweets about Dogecoin or any coins even Bitcoin and you can see the price is moving every time he tweets.
He got knowledge but I am sure it's not that really huge, but we must also believe with Bitcoin because this billionaire guy is also believing so, it's also a relief that he release this kind of statement.

That is the meaning that Accardo told you, that it could take much longer time before this present bear market is over, but no matter what Elon Musk said, bitcoin does not depend on any one speech or tweet, the bear market may be over soon, it may take longer. Do not let anyone discourage you to invest at low price like this.

Surely, not only Elon but even any president will not be able to make any impact on the development of bitcoin but in this situation maybe Elon is making his point and he is cheering the market, which is also a good thing.

I also agree with his thinking, winter this year will be harsher and possibly longer than any previous cycle because we are going through unprecedented things economic crisis, inflation, war shows almost no signs of cooling down, so it is hard to say that the bear market will end soon.

Crypto winter came, but it will leave, one day or the next it will leave, and that’s the thing that matters. There are way too many people who acts as if it won't and the price will stay low like right now but that’s not true. Same is basically said by Elon, maybe tomorrow, maybe a year from now, maybe two years later, but one day we are going to see the bull run again and the price will be above ATH again, we will see 70k per bitcoin and more.

This is only matter of time, we don't know when it will be but we know it will happen. Which is why buying bitcoin is not such a difficult situation for any of us, we could just buy now and wait until that bull run eventually comes.

It may mean we have to remain patient in dealing with the situation in the crypto market that has not improved so far. The crypto market may continue and provide opportunities for us to invest in many potential coins. But you don't need to take it seriously and you should be able to find other information about the real market situation because we know what Elon is like. If you can analyze what is happening with the crypto market, you can already have a good picture of what is really happening and need to be prepared if this continues.

What that means is that you should not be listening to Elon Musk or people who make predictions about BTC, stop reading meanings into what they post on their social media accounts, any information you want to know about BTC you can find it out by yourself. BTC cycle repeats itself and that is what's happening now, though with many centralized exchanges about to go haywire after the mess created by FTX, it may extend the crypto winter season and keep BTC price down for a longer while, but the great thing about it all is that the network remains safe and secured, and absolutely nothing is going to affect its decentralization.

Just move your funds out of centralized exchanges, do not hold centralized altcoins or stable coins and move your BTC to non-custodial wallets like Electrum, BlueWallet or a Hardware wallet.

I believe his goal is also profit and I also believe that he is also quietly buying bitcoin at this price, he sees its potential and the profit it will bring, he's like us, here for profit.
In this tweet, he is creating trust and hope in the market, I only wish that he would tweet such things more often than shilling some coins.

really annoys me are the of people who will act on his words as if they are 100% factual.
Look at the frenzy he caused earlier this year with Doge? remember how so many people

Elon Musk the Prophet, he is not telling us what we don't already know. We have witnessed different bear markets now and for those that have really taken note, Bitcoin has always survived and ended up higher than its previous high and we do understand that this will be the case with this bear market too plus many people have stated this weeks/months ago in this forum before Elon's tweet. Nothing is new here with Elon Musk's tweet.

Editing tweets would be the highest form of irresponsibility and it would discredit Twitter totally. I don't think editing tweets would be an option for Elon Musk, he is smarter than that. Millions of people might have those tweets saved on some device that he can't edit, Twitter would immediately loose its value if such thing ever occur.

We all know the bull market usually starts a few months before a halving day of Bitcoin. Let's see when would be a next halving day of Bitcoin? We don't know the exact day at the moment but we can estimate it based on Bitcoin block time (in average it is 10 minutes). Halving happens after 210,000 blocks and a next halving would happen in May 2024.

Everyone already know there's halving event every 4 years and Bitcoin will make new ATH after the halving event happen, so there's a big chance Bitcoin would make new ATH in the next halving event. That's what Elon Musk want to say, it's nothing new and actually Elon Musk didn't add any value or predicting anything. Also since he's an owner on twitter, he can just edit his tweet without any trace and then proving in the next year if he ever predict Bitcoin price at x value at x date.

Elon Musk is just speculating. Nobody can predict when this Winter would end, it might even end tomorrow. Bitcoin has always proved so many skeptics wrong because this coin is unpredictable.

Everyone has freedom of expression, and Elon is using his rights. For me the meaning of that tweet was he recognized the indispensability and eternity of Bitcoin but he also predicted that the recovery from this perilous time of Bitcoin would take a long.
