With 1.5 TH why wouldn't you mine btc?

Coz there is a chance he make more profit mining this from start, i will have about 1.2TH for this coin from start on becausepool also Smiley

Wont the  ASICs  make the difficultly rise so rapidly that it makes us little guys dead in the water almost instantly or no?
well this is maybe true, I am mining with 50Gh unit and I am also not lucky if I see the speeds of others, but that is not upon us. I started mining Iceberg coin with two of my GPUs and  with 20Mh I am at the bottom of the line, top ones are mining over 1Gh at N5 scrypt ( do not believe they do mine with GPU farms, it looks as some sort of new ASIC units). So we have to hope for some coins.

You can always rent some rigs like most do
