Sometime I thing about, what could be created when Satoshi, JL777, come-from-beyond, Vitalik Buterin and maybe two or three other great devs from the crypto currency scene would work together  Huh It would be something amazing great  Wink

Quote of the day....

"I dont know enough about what is impossible, I just work backwards from what I want and keep at it till it works"

Taken from some dude claiming to be a simple C programmer.....think his name is James or John or 777 something or other.  Anyone heard of him? Cheesy

Just a reminder that there is a still a BTCD multipool, paying miners in BTCD even though it's not listed in the OP.

Great article about SuperNet:

The role BTCD and BTC will play in Iguana:
"I think the BTC chain can be relied upon to be the most secure for the forseeable future, so think in terms of hierarchy. Things like ownership amounts we want as secure as possible. But it is slow, so we use BTC for longer term changes and a faster chain like BTCD for shorter term changes and offchain for realtime things like poker.

Thanks for the link, good read. Look forward to the future of BTCD. Seems to be one of the most undervalued coins right now on the market.

What is Iguana?
https://bitco.in/forum/threads/iguana-parallel-sync-full-btc-blockchain-in-30-minutes-uses-half-the-space-but-starts-up-instant.911/

Quote
iguana is bitcoin core, client, RPC server and more.

Quote
The goal for iguana is to create a scalable bitcoin core implementation that is backward compatible and a drop in replacement

Quote
In addition to the bitcoin code, there is also an atomic swap DEX, decentralized poker and beginnings of private chains,

Quote
a oneclick install across all the OS is basically done. and a full bitcoin implementation that fits into 3MB, runs in browsers, has built in atomic cross chain swaps with a range of altcoins, decentralized poker, etc. SuperNET has several GUI projects that build on top of iguana, for the wallet (stripped down copay wallet) it will just use the bitcoin RPC, so the GUI will work with normal bitcoind.

Quote
iguana is still young, but already it proves that bitcoin can easily scale to max tx capacity without causing any issues for the typical nodes.

It seems as if they want to develop the jack of all trades device. This has never been a good solution.

How is iguana connected to BTCD? Is this coin just an addition to SuperNET project (s)?

Iguana is the platform that will put Btc, Btcd and all supernet features together. Iguana will gradually become a full Btcd client with all its features enabled: staking, teleport, pax, etc... at the same time it will also be a full Bitcoin client, or rather the best full Bitcoin client available with the best performance optimizations by far. Iguana will also include the many supernet features that will use either Btc or Btcd blockchain. So it's entirely possible that Iguana will become the most popular full Bitcoin client, figure what that will do for Btcd!

jl777: BTCD will be used when 1 minute tx time is making sense, which is a lot of time. Iguana will eventually be a full BTCD node, but that is not the first version so we will have a phase where iguana is working with the normal BTCD nodes, then when iguana is able to stake, it can coexist as full nodes alongside the normal BTCD nodes but at some point iguana will get some hardfork that wont make sense to put into the existing BTCD codebase. So we will have a three step process. Hope that makes sense

Week 41: 18 BTCD have been paid to 608 unique BitcoinDark addresses for successfully staking blocks 985310-995718

Thanks for staking and supporting the BitcoinDark network. Good payout considering the nice rise in the BTCD price.  I'm glad that some heavy hitters are starting to notice Iguana and James's work.  Good things ahead for BTCD!

I love the smell of FREE BTCD in morning. Thank you

It has bootstraps for many coins
You can find a btcd bootstrap up to 22 of January 2016. It's 3rd column 8th row

What is project iguana. I can't keep track of all 777's projects. Is there an elevator pitch description somewhere?

Iguana serves as a unified codebase for all of SuperNET's myriad services. In the foreseeable future, the Iguana platform's services will run in a Chrome app or natively via Linux, Windows (both 32-bit and 64-bit), OSX, Android and iOS. As envisioned by SuperNET lead developer JL777, Iguana will become "a one-click chrome app. It talks direct to the coin networks as a full peer. It is a polyglot client. Same code for BTC and all compatibles. Using native ramchains. This will allow direct integration of Pangea, Instantdex, Peggy, etc., without any reliance on public nodes for anything.”

I am not sure if it's going to run natively in windows as Microsoft expressed interest in Ethereum lately.

Thanks Azeh for your fast reply  Smiley

Given the error I got,

Quote
Runaway exception

A fatal error occurred.

EXCEPTION: st13runtime_error
init blockindex (): error opening database environment Corruption: bad record length
C:|Users...bitcoindark-qt.exe

which of the existing files should I remove from the roaming folder before I start resyncing?

I assume I'll need at least to remove the existing wallet.dat file and replace it with an earlier back up - the wallet is backed up each day after staking. Should I choose the most recent back-up to use or would that have been affected by the runtime error?

The reason I ask is because when I last staked the wallet - on Friday - the last 3 mining rewards were all rejected. Could this somehow be related to the runtime error?

Also, given that the error wasn't a syncing error do I still need (as per step 5 on the OP) to replace the existing peers.dat with the peers.dat from here: https://yadi.sk/d/kN7-KnNsewy45

Many thanks for your help :-)

d/loaded the new wallet, replaced the peers.dat file and started the new wallet but got same error message as before; I then deleted the txleveldb folder and this time no error message and the wallet started syncing from the beginning - currently approx 950K blocks still remaining.

Unless I'm getting my cryptos mixed up (as it were) I seem to remember some months ago there was a bootstrap file that could be copied into the roaming folder to speed the process up - anyone know if that's still available?

Gavin Andreson : "There are lots of optimizations needed, and lots of ideas for best way to optimize.  I am very happy to see things like the 'iguana' project that is single-mindedly focusing on techniques to improve performance"

Seems as if it has some effect on Polo, not on Bittrex so far. In best case we just see a turning point for BTCD.
