now they have put a block on my GF's account even thought she has nothing to do with it.

 Huh

What do you mean nothing to do with it?  You're telling me you don't use your girlfriend's btcjam account?  You just happen to be dating someone who also takes out bitcoin loans from that site?

I don't particularly like btcjam, but you are talking nonsense here.

I know it sounds weird, but yes that's true. However, i had no idea that there was an account under "My" name registered there. So when i needed help with my GF's account which we (both) used but mainly her as it is her account, i emailed Btcjam support from my email which had my original name on it. And that's how they found out there was an account under my name, now if i was scamming, i certainly wouldn't send emails to btcjam for a week trought "My" email which is registered under my name. And note that i created a thread that ID's were getting scammed from that other guy and used to make loan listings, i have kept all emails from the scammer. And i certainly wouldnt have contacted the police as soon as i'd find out and wouldn't have gone trought WEEKS of trouble explaining my point if i did do something wrong.

So you use your girlfriend's BTCJam account.  They have a right to suspend that account as well.

They think they have a right, but if it was proper customer service they would investigate before shutting anything down. The whole thing is just exhausting :/ i will leave it as it is at the moment as there is nothing else that i can do.

As you may already be aware, as you have been around for a while. Btcjam is crap and people getting scammed everyday and support is rubbish:/

Anyway, in case people come after me for arbitration i have something to fall back on because it's not my fault someone stole my id/created fake ads.

Actually, it is your fault your ID was stolen - you handed it over to them.  Whose fault do you think it is?

It is my fault to a degree that i gave my ID. But i was not the only one who's ID was stolen, it was quite a few people who the guy stole ID's from. Probably many more accounts were created along with my and scammed more Btc. Anyway, BTCjam security should be more strict because anyone can find a random ID on the internet and create a fake account. They are not doing any checks, security is awfull, and customer service is bad aswell, now they have put a block on my GF's account even thought she has nothing to do with it.  Huh

How will the police deal with it if the ID got stolen?

I'm not sure, i haven't been contacted by them yet, they adv me to contact btcjam but they are a bunk of wankers.

I have plenty of proof, i hope its sufficient enough to proove to the individual that it's not my fault
Well i wish you a good luck  but beware of your own words as they may also throw next sue cuz of defamation on you.

Posting again:

This user was operating under two accounts. One of which is overdue, and the other with a fradulent or stolen identity. The 19050 account is blacklisted because of this. We ask the operator of these accounts to please pay back your debt on the 12575 before you go to arbitration.

Ok, let the police deal with it as you said... Also you don't need to give me negative feedback since you have no proof it was me, and i have all the proof that my account details have been stolen.

If you had any decency for your customers at all, you would remove it. But i guess you are not going to do that, since you fucked up and got noone else to blaim.

Ugh, man, if you are telling the truth then that sucks, but how can we here reading this possibly know what the truth is? BTCJam should at least check the IP addresses used to access those accounts to see if they match, but even that doesn't really prove anything if the scammer was in any way competent.

If you're innocent, all you can do is follow up with your identity theft claim with the police, and walk awy from BTCJam. No one will "hunt you down", peope always say that shit from behind the safety of their keyboard.

Lesson to be learned here; Never give out your personal information (like photo ID, seriously?!) to randoms on the internet (and I include BTCJam in that)!

Personally I'll be staying away from BTCJam, too risky. I once got scammed on here for 0.1BTC by being naive, never again.

Hope you get it sorted relatively stress free, if you're innocent. If you're a scammer, well, I hope you get "hunted down". Only you really know which is true. Smiley

Well that's the thing, BTCjam should take necessery identification steps in order to prevent this happening in the first place, but yes! I agree with you, i know im innocent and will stay away from BTCjam, well done on loosing a customer ... Oh wait! .. They don't care as long as they get their money!

Oh.... well well well.... BTCjam support has left me a negative feedback on my profile saying that i have defaulted on 11btc loan, I cannot believe this.

I seriously cannot believe this, they are jumping into conclusions way too quickly! I requested them to call me like 1000x times to discuss it and they have never done so, they are not responding to my emails or messages!

Didn't you claim you've reported them to the police?  What do you expect?

Yes i have reported the theft of my personal information to the police, and they are dealing with it. But the thing is why leave me negative feedback and jump into conclusions of accusing me, i have done absolutely nothing wrong and i hold my hands in the air as i say this i am willing to fight it in court aswell. And how must i feel, when on scammers BTCjam profile people are saying stuff like "Lets hunt him down etc" which is under my name..

As you maybe already are aware from my other thread ::: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7756735
My identity was stolen along with other users, i have proof of all the emails and everything!

The guy who stole my identity managed to create a fake btcjam account, and a facebook account under my name, which is completely FAKE and they only have 1 friend, and guess what... That 1 friend is him (and he has referenced himself on BTCjam to gain more trust)... And may i ask you what security measures has BTCjam taken in order to detect and prevent this ? None. (People are right, as long as they get their cut they are not bothered and i can see that clearly)

They are saying that i operated 2 accounts, how can they be sure of this? that is COMPLETELY false and they are jumping into conclusions too fast once again, the one and only account that ME&MY GIRLFRIEND use is : https://btcjam.com/users/19050 . She and I have a btcjam account which is completely legit/reputable and we both used it untill they disabled it temporariliy (i hope).

Anyway, I have reported the incident as soon as they told me there is an account under my name to the action fraud online police, and to my local police which they have provided me with the crime reference number, and police will be in touch with me soon to discuss the theft further.

I don't really know what BTCjam is doing for security measures to prevent fraud besides from "Nothing". If it was me i'd like to hear customers side aswell before jumping into conclusions too quickly and leaving people negative feedback for no reason! How can you blaim someone if you messed up ?? .. It's absolutely ridiculous, why do i have to go trought this if i haven't done anything wrong? And yet they even left a negative feedback for me!!!! Wtf seriously guys.... At least they would have the balls to ring me and resolve the issue.

And seriously, i am willing to go to court over this!
