I'm holding some BCN that I've mined. Back then when I was mining I didn't want to sell them... hell now they are at a very low price and i won't get nada for them. Do you think we can see the price go back up???

Most people in this thread follow BTE.  BCN is a different coin that used the same name, Bytecoin, as this coin.

ProfMac,
You are bytecoins Satoshi! Release your coin to the world without fear of reject. The superior logic algo behind HTC is far superior than BTC and BTE combined. I can't wait to read your white paper ProfMac.

The relvance of this coin given what is currently happening with Bitcoin may turn out to be a lot more than just historical interest or trademark disputes.

If a later coin with a much higher capitalization is using or wants to use the same name then the original coin can become very valuable.

Why would we need an ICO for a coin that was launched five years ago?

Yes and, we start an ICO to support such projects. Agreed?

If you really want to help, dl the client from one of the links I posted and get it running. Post the IP so you can connect to the rest of us. If you have a compatible miner, set it up and get mining. Any help to get BTE going again is appreciated.

I think ahmedbodi is a great asset to the coin and I'll contribute anyway I can. It'd be awesome to get BTE working, not because I have a stash, I don't. But because it could be an awesome alt.

Would you be OK with posting IP addresses for your new nodes? I'd like more connections if possible. TIA.

Wlii spin up a few extra linux boxes to help support the network. Any programmers here or is it only me? Smiley Smiley

I am actively working on an update to the client.  In particular, I am including anti-strip-mine technology.  I could use someone to bounce questions off of.

I would also add a block explorer (the old coinplorer.com has been offline for some time). I think BTE used to be listed on BTC-E, but I never did any trading there. Do you know of any block explorer or exchange currently handling BTE?

In other words, BTE bytecoin is fine, well, alive and growing. Just focus your good energy on something Pro Bytecoin like a better USD/BTE exchange or an open free market that only accepts BTE as payments or maybe a Pool or something.

Not sure it will do much good as like most of us here he is probably using a VPN. I was able to trace the IP where his big ASIC was strip-mining from as most of those big units usually need an Ethernet hard line. Mining with low-hash units is much easier to do with a VPN. What were you using to trace his IP?

I traced his IP as well and it points to Quito, Ecuador.

Can we block his IP to stop him from stripmining the coin again?

I have developed technology to prevent strip-mining.  I have done most of the testing that I can do in one shop alone.  I have some other tasks, such as how to release a windows client that I need to gain control over.  I am not worried about strip mining.
