Its hard to determined what is the season right now but as of now I think we experiencing bear market especially a lot of cryptocurrencies are on downtrend. We are now in the last quarter of this year 2018 and we expect that it will be the start another bull run and I hope it will totally happen so it will be a great time to all traders and investors.

honestly. i think we're in the bear market even bitcoin will continue fall till end of april 2020 ; then it will start recovery little
the crypto generally growed a lot since the big fall last year without some good correction
we may expect domination of down trend for next months

The crypto market for a period seemed to be on a bear market, and for some reason much later prices started increasing again. What can be said about the market at this period, are we on a bull or bear?

Definitely a bear market. the market is going down, people are cashing out and altcoins are down to hell. When the market is bullish you can see coins gaining 10%-20% per day. Everybody is buying crypto during bullish market because there's profit everywhere.
It's sad but true. We are going sideways hovering somewhere between $10k - $8k but if you zoom out BTC charts you can clearly see that overall BTC is going down. But I must say that you're totally wrong about bullish markets - 10% - 20% gains are unobtainable and are just unhealthy for organic growth

I don't want to be negative, but it looks like the bear has somewhat sting the bulls in recent days and they could be in control at least at this point. I agree that we are in the oversold region for quite sometime now, but to see the price totally pull on the $8k levels today, it's possible that we could revisit the lowest low we have so far last year @$3k and this could be worst for everyone here, so just prepare for anything.

Meaning we could potentially decline to the $5,000s and still comfortably be a in a bull market.
It's all relative at the end of the day. If we fall to $5k then it's possible that what we have seen this year was a bull run within a multi year bear market. I would consider a revisit of $5k to be super bearish.

In that case I wouldn't even rule out a retest of the 2018 low of $3.1k. We have gone up too hard without building any support so don't be surprised if we go back down in a similar fashion.... a reverse bull run that is.

When the price goes down even those who bought higher will have a breaking point and dump their coins out of frustration.

i agree with you in regards to being a bull within a bear, but I disagree about support. At this point in time if bitcoin hasnt built solid as a rock support in the $4k-$6k area, there is never going to be any support at any price.

Right now bitcoin is trading at a price range of 8,100 $. If we look at the bitcoin market at this time the bears are still in full control of cryptocurrency and without a big push from bulls.

It is indeed very difficult to predict whether the market will continue to be bearish or will turn to bullish. But I hope that next month the bull will fully control the bitcoin market.

The June top was a potential inflection point. The answer is not clear yet. How the current pattern unfolds will define whether the rally since December 2018 constituted a new bull market, or whether it was just a bull trap in a long term secular bear market.

My bet, based on historical metrics and the rally's impulsive behavior, is we're in a new bull market. If I'm wrong, I believe xxxx123abcxxxx is correct when he says:

A retracement to the Fibonacci 88.6% level is the first warning signal to suggest the bull market may be over.

A decline to the 06-FEB-2019 low confirms the bull market is over.

Meaning we could potentially decline to the $5,000s and still comfortably be a in a bull market.

I would call it as a bear market since the price was starting to reduce to unexpected $7k range which is unusual as to someone predicted that it would stay $8k range. And my bullish price is the $10k range which is seemingly stable for a period of time.

Now would be the best time to buy since this is the dip that everyone was expecting to reinvest again after selling. Don't be too greedy to wait for another dip you might regret it if the price starts to boost beyond $10k.
We are expecting for the bullish season but it somewhat we had failed again just like what we expecting last year. It seems to be that we are going to drop down more and go back to $3k, I hope not. It surely gives disappointment for those who are expecting another $20k and quite much more for those who invested last 2017.
What do we have to expect to happen next? Still unknown, holding is quite a big help now rather than to keep buying.
It seems that the Bitcoin price was starting to get stable at $8k(i hope not) but if this is where it want to stay, then we must have to start to HODL. Cause it will take a little while before Bitcoin gets back to the previous stable price at $10k, and again the unexpected event suddenly happen or I might be wrong, I just need a little more time to find it out if this is the stable price.

I am pretty much bullish after the rebound happened at $7.6k. Bitcoin rallied insanely from $4k to $13k which needed a correction. That correction never happened until now because of the bakkt performance which wasn't up to the mark. But the low hit wasn't below the $6.5k and hence, shows that the support is pretty intact and has volume. I am bullish in short term for the cryptocurrency market unless something big comes. The global market is going through the early sign of recession which is another reason that crypto could act as an alternate investment option.

Bitcoin has had a sharp fall in the last two days and perhaps that will continue. It is difficult to predict the direction of the market at the moment, but I still hope for a good future for the cryptocurrency market.

For now, it is on bear season for sure, I am guessing for another short term it will continue with bear run but at the end of the deal when it is over and price hits the bottom and can't move the middle term will be stagnant, it will go down first but then will stay there for a while without going any further down but not going up neither.

Then of course, the bull season starts after months of falling and months of staying still there will be days of going up. That is the problem with bitcoin, maybe it is the whales or manipulators who want it this way, for months it goes down, for months it stays same so people who want to make money can't get out but the ones who get out and will go back in at the right time waits patiently, then BAM! one day it goes up like crazy and in a week it is 4x price.

If you look at the macro timeframes you could say that we've just printed a lower high which is not bullish at all, but personally I wouldn't get full on bearish until we don't break the $6200-$6500 zone. That is what my technical analysis skills tell me.

On the other hand my opinion is that we're just retracing for accumulation then the institutions will pour their money into the market and give a massive boost to Bitcoin. Keep in mind that I'm not a financial advisor so you shouldn't follow my advice.

We are not in the bull market for sure, therefore we are in a bear market, you are talking of the entire market here, we cannot call a bull market even if BTC is moving up because it has to be th overall market situation.

I think even if BTC will start to recover again in the last quarter, we are less likely gonna see an altcoins rally in the last quarter since BTC has to rise over $13K or make a new ATH to make is happen, that's my own analysis.

Who told you that BTC has to be constantly making higher highs to be in a bull market? If Bitcoin went to 12k and then corrected to 8 like it did in the last days followed by another pump to a new high it would be great and a clear indication that we are in a rally to a new all time high, but it doesn't have to do it to be out of the bear market. Bitcoin bear cycle ended when we went back above 5000 dollars and stayed there. As long as we keep bouncing between 10k and 5k we will still be out of the bear market. You have to look at the big picture. Days or weeks in a life of an asset don't indicate anything but a temporary mood.

the period of decline will is continuing because I read the news if Bitcoin will touch the price of $ 6000 or $ 7000, and I'm sure after the decline in the price of Bitcoin then Altcoin will rise. the condition market is currently still in red and we don't know how long that's it will hold. remember, before that you must be prepared to buy Bitcoin at current prices cheap because it is a good opportunity.
Well, I'd never heard such news and even if it soon to drops down back to $6k, but I've never thought that it could still consider as in bear season. That is something we call market preparation for the possible bull run early next year as halving occurs.

But all the news that you've heard I'm still confident that the market won't go much lower as you heard. Still, we can't assure that it makes a huge dump or pump before we end this year. I hope, it is just a FUD's... Grin
