Unfortunately our two biggest merit sources @qwk and @1miau have been very quiet at the moment and also 1miau has not been logged into the forum for over a month now.
We urgently need another merit source for our area and @bullrun2024bro has a very high popularity from the German-speaking community.

It is really sad that after all this time there is still no reaction from the board management.

We have 5 pages full of statements of support for a member who has already earned over 4000 merits. I don't know how theymos changes a source, but even if he had to enter a change in the code, he only has to replace the name of a former merit source with that of bullrunbro and it certainly won't take more than 2 minutes. If he also takes a few minutes to look at the topic here, he won't need more than 5 minutes in total. You're all right about this, we need to have some considerations concerning the merit sources and the way their numbers are always going on a decline, if we are going to probably start the count from last year to this time, we can count on more than five considerable once active merit sources who were no more active on the forum, am only talking about the recent time not to even include the comparison of the whole numbers of merits source and the rate of the active ones, we are having about 109 merits sources and many of them were not that active but still maintain the position, while we have a lot of hanging applications yet to be considered, Theymos needs to create time for these honestly.

We do indeed. Our German board is turning more and more into a ghost town, and the fact that there are no active merit sources doesn't really make it any better.

I would like to see many new things for the forum, because there are very important functions missing that others offer and the competition is taking away many newbies. We are all behind such an advanced technology as Bitcoin and in the forum very smart people deal with various complex topics, but unfortunately our forum simply looks backward to the outside world because simple important functions are missing and the layout does not correspond to what is expected in 2024.

Then there are even simpler, less complicated things like merit sources that are simply not appointed. I doubt it would take more than 10 minutes to appoint bullrunbro. A quick check of his profile and all the referrals should be enough, then it probably wouldn't take 2 minutes but nothing is done and I really wonder why?

The merit system is really great, but even the best watch in the world wouldn't work if just one little gear broke. You also have to pay attention to the small details.

I often wonder what Theymos's thoughts are on the state of the merit system, because he's been absolutely silent on the topic for years unless I missed one of his infrequent posts in Meta. If those two merit source members are inactive then the German board really ought to have at least one of them replaced. I haven't checked their profiles, but did they just disappear? I thought I saw something from 1miau not so long ago.

And aside from any local boards, o_e_l_e_o is gone and probably others as well. This might be a shot-in-the-dark suggestion, but maybe you should try PMing Theymos about your application. When I wanted a name change and then started bitching about it in various threads, he told me via PM that I should have been persistent in reminding him. I don't know if he's seeing this thread or not, but it couldn't hurt to contact him directly.
