technically you just stick the bitcoin logo on your guitar, and people will understand seeing the logo, so you indirectly promote bitcoin,
but for the problem of bitcoin starting to move away from ordinary people I think these ordinary people need space to understand how bitcoin works in the trading market you can see from the price of 60k $ to 38k $ this for new individuals in crypto makes scary
ordinary people who are new to bitcoin will indeed feel bitcoin is no longer good when they see the highest price at $60k and then drop to the $36k area, this is a very drastic decline. Ordinary people are afraid to enter and only people who understand can take advantage of the current situation.
back on the topic of promoting bitcoin by busking, it's actually a good idea and there are many other ideas that can be used, one of which is sticking the bitcoin logo on the guitar, of course, it has told the audience about bitcoin.

I'm a bit premature, my b/d is not until June 20th this year. People seem to understate their ages until they get into their 70s, then they don't seem to be able to wait until they hit the major milestones. Apologies for slipping into this bad practice.

80 is a bit of a milestone in the UK, as you get some extra tax advantages and benefits.

A bit of an update on this.

I don't think I have the time or the ability to become a good rock singer, and I'm not sure how appealing an 80 year old rocker will be. I've also got a problem, as my friend who is restarting a rock band wants the guitar. I might get involved with the band, and use that to promote Bitcoin. I own the domain Bitcoin Patron{/url] , and I could use that to solicit for donations, and then I could use the site to educate potential sponsors about Bitcoin.

I'll put an explanation of Bitcoin on the site, and then, hopefully, you guy could review my comments to see where I have made mistakes ( if any).

I second that, few days you was 79, now you're 80 already ?
It's your Birthday today? Anyways I don't want to shift from the topic I only wanted to say birthday wishes.
It's a good way to advocate about Bitcoin, good luck as you become a ew rocky fella Cool

I've been given a Fender DG60CE electro-acoustic guitar. If I learnt to play it, and busked to ask for Bitcoin, would this help to increase awareness of Bitcoin?

I'm asking this because Bitcoin seems to be moving away from the common people, and finding its way into the wallets of the bankers and investment houses.
If you busk on this forum, you may get paid a few bitcoins on condition that you play the guitar properly and your voice is not discordant. Grin
I think you'd better sing in public in a crowd using your guitar with a self-composed song, the title is "bitcoin", and then it will make more sense to be able to promote bitcoin to everyone and besides that you earn money because you busking while promoting bitcoin in the crowd.
Would be a win-win situation? Of course because you might able to get some money and at the same time you are spreading awareness and exposure about bitcoins existence. It is really good to look at that there are people who are really that willing to make these things in public just for the sake of exposure and adoption which is really something commendable and only a few could really have able to take this idea and would realized it.@OP, if you do love on having that way then go for it as long you dont violate something then its up to your own will and rights on doing so.
So good luck for this one.

Ofcourse this is going to be a great thing as well but I do not think that it's moving away from the common people as well. What's going on is the price is extremely high and the people generally think that investing in Altcoins will bring them more money therefore they generally are investing in things like sol and Shiba since the price is down for them and volatile at the moment. But what you are doing right now would be wonderful. At the same time some common people use Bitcoins as a method of payment as well which also helps the companies have international workers as well since the payments are easier than fiat.

This is a fantastic and beautiful idea you have there but to make this promotion come to reality you have to go beyond just playing guitar, you will certainly need a fan base or call it subscribers who love your way of playing guitar so that you will be able to reach to people. Or you will simply play and not make any impact.

I am not here to discourage this idea but just promoting that you are accepting bitcoin may not do any trick for your intention of increasing bitcoin awareness to common people. If you are already a known personality in your local region then you may go straight away or you need to ask your local media to cover your guitar works along with bitcoin accepting options which may let some people get some idea on you and bitcoin.

I like this guy in the above video. He used to perform on the street, railway platforms and different locations. People who wish to sing will be given chance and he used to play the music for them. Maybe OP can try this way, because these are random people who sing and it'll help them know about bitcoin. In one of his video he posted a guy who used to play music in the park and leave the donation to the people who are in need. This means homeless people can take whatever is necessary. Maybe such kind of activities with bitcoin slogans will promote it.

We are with you just host live concert with most popular band and peeps would be crazy enough to follow their rock or pop star. Considering the electric guitar best to put it at work in Rock band.

Have some big LCD behind the stage show casing bitcoin everywhere. May be we can also throw or shower the biggest balloon over peeps attending the show.

The tickets of concert should have bitcoin printed all over it.

May be this will do some gaga movement !!  Grin

@Jet Cash
Some of the users mentioned doing a live stream and I think you should consider doing it on a platform like Twitch while you're performing in public... Just add another sign that points to your channel on Twitch and in regards to BTCitcoin donations on your live streams, you can easily integrate it with the help of a third-party tool that also shows alerts in your streams

this has more potential than just street performing(off-camera). it has far greater reach and also is one step closer to having a portal people can use to make a payment.

It might help raise awareness but I doubt somebody will actually give you some of their precious Bitcoin. Grin

In times like these, it is expected that Bitcoin will change hands, from those of us who have weak hands to those who has got the stomach for blood, from many of us who easily fear, panic, and sell to those who find a red market an opportunity for a Bitcoin shopping spree.

Those who sell now are destined to buy their Bitcoin back from these bankers and investment houses with much higher prices.

I would welcomed anyone who got the desire to promote Bitcoin in manners that can be comfortable for them...and surely we all have our own circle of influence no matter how small it might be. In my view, Bitcoin should have been the people's cryptocurrency but we are seeing a new direction right now as it is already valuable just like the real gold. And as much as we can campaign that more people get Bitcoin, hold them for the long-term, we can only do much but then again this is really worth trying.

it seems that your idea has never been done by anyone else,
Jet Cash is not the first one with that idea, but there's always room for one more: Busking for Bitcoin: Report Finds Street Performers Depend on Digital Payments

What might stop them is, of course, transaction fees.
But they aren't that high at the moment: Transaction fees

to be frank,
busking for bitcoin is like busking for euro in london.
ofcourse 99% of londonders have never touched or used the euro. but busking isnt going to be a reason people decide to finally try and get some euro.

some people might look twice and wonder why your asking for euro instead of pounds. but it isnt something that will make them want to convert pounds to euro's just to donate to a street performer.

if you were to join a band and then say 'hey guys, here's an idea' lets not take pounds, and instead ask for a currency 99% of people dont have, just to promote the currency'.. the band will say 'nah, lets promote the band instead, in london using the currency london uses'.

imagine if oxfam done a tv advert in the UK but instead of asking for £3 a month. they said 'please send 202.37 ETB' (ethiopian birr) you would see far far far less donations come in.

i think seeing bitcoin talked about in TV shows and movies has some influence to stick in peoples minds that its a usable currency. but not really something that makes people want to just exchange fiat for it.

other idea's i have seen around the world that have helped with adoption.
when buying a product people get 'loyalty rewards' of x % put into a address they can claim.

heck even NFT are the new hot thing due to "play to earn" gaming in meta.
however if ariana grande done her fortnite concert in bitcoin, she would have earned alot less and had alot less attendee's

Perhaps you should do a live streaming performance in one of your social media this way it can reach a great number of people withing minutes, the only drawback is if you suck  Grin  people will probably be discourage and that would ruin the whole idea, sounds like fun as long as it is done right.  Smiley good luck.
I laughed a little reading your writing  Grin   Grin. Yes, it is true that if we are going to do that, of course our skills must be balanced first. We must be unique to invite people to be interested in watching what we show. I don't think this is a bad idea, especially since most people like something about music. But we also have to disease something to be sold for it.

People usually complain that the price is high, and now it seems that exactly what they have been waiting for is happening - I hope that everyone who wants to invest will use the time ahead.
what is happening now is the opposite. ordinary people complain that they are stuck at exorbitant prices for buying at FOMO prices. Now is the right time to invest because the market is crashing. but some novice investors do not have any spare money to buy at low prices.

About the OP who wants to promote bitcoin by busking, certainly a good idea, just give him the ACCEPT BITCOIN board and Barcode wallet, people who understand will do it and some people will ask about the Bitcoin.

You can look at it from multiple angles because you can do a good thing of promoting Bitcoin if you learn to play the guitar - but if you think you know how to play the guitar (and that sounds really bad), then you can make a counter effect, even though they say that every promotion is good in some way (even the bad one). I don’t know how long it takes someone to learn to play the guitar, but I think the average person needs to invest a lot of time to become a solid musician.

I'm asking this because Bitcoin seems to be moving away from the common people, and finding its way into the wallets of the bankers and investment houses.

This impression is created from the moment the big players started investing in BTC, and it's not that there's no truth in it - but they don't seem to have influenced Bitcoin to stop being what it has been all these years - an extremely volatile asset which sometimes drives people crazy, something like a time when gold rush reigned.

People usually complain that the price is high, and now it seems that exactly what they have been waiting for is happening - I hope that everyone who wants to invest will use the time ahead.

It sounds like a great way to promote Bitcoin. Of course, people are not likely to learn how to buy and send Bitcoin rightaway to support a musician on the street, but they'll think about Bitcoin more if they see more people who treat it as money. Bitcoin is experiencing some troubles now, and it could use support of enthusiasts. I agree with Mbitr that a QR code is a good choice for this scenario because it shouldn't be a hard thing to do for people. What might stop them is, of course, transaction fees. After all, people usually give small amounts of money to street musicians. But they can pay lower fees if the money arriving after a while is okay.
If your friend is starting a band, the band could accept payment in BTC or their gigs.
