I've been given a Fender DG60CE electro-acoustic guitar. If I learnt to play it, and busked to ask for Bitcoin, would this help to increase awareness of Bitcoin?

I'm asking this because Bitcoin seems to be moving away from the common people, and finding its way into the wallets of the bankers and investment houses.
It's okay ... it seems that your idea has never been done by anyone else, if you really intend to do it, just try it and do your best, hopefully, what you do can attract sympathy and produce what you want.

~ My early years were spent as part of London cafe society in the late 60s and early 70s, and I still prefer singers like Joan Baez, and I think of this as my theme song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ST9TZBb9v8 - I'm not sure if I can develop some empatht with his rock music.
Millennials and Gen Zs probably haven't heard of this (except for a few). If you're going to turn heads on the streets, it's easier to play songs most people are familiar with.  If this is considered as one of those classics in the UK (I think it is), you might still get some audience.

Anyway, it looks like you'll be hitting two birds with one stone. Getting people know of this song and then BTC.

Certainly yes. If you indeed become a really nice musician then you will definitely attract people towards yourself.
Keeping a bitcoin QR along side it will shows people you are into crypto and that will itself create an awareness among people.
The ones who are willing to tip you can make use of the QR to send you tips and the ones who don't know how to do it might learn it this way.
You can also do online streaming and post videos/audios of your music online and setup a bitcoin QR code on your account.
Social media is a vast thing these days and there are endless possibilities of how can you make people aware of bitcoin.

Thanks for the replies, and I'm surprised by the interest. I don't have much musical talent, and I tried to learn the clarinet, but it took me several days to even get a "crow" out of it. The concept was born out of a desire to utilise the guitar ( which seems to have a second hand value of around £130). I have a friend who used to be part of a rock band many years ago, and he is starting a new group with a few friends. He has suggested that I help with a computer based light show, and the sound editing to create some downloadable tracks. Well, it would be nice if you can Live stream this to TiKtok so that we can get in to the action. Just put your QR code somewhere close to you and we can scan in your Bitcoin address. Get someone else to record it for you... and make some videos too... hopefully some Bitcoin enthusiast will pick up on that and give you some tips.

Also post some screen captures or videos on here, so that we can have some proof that you are actually doing this. To answer your question... will this help with Bitcoin awareness?.... simple answer ==> Yes, it will.. because other people will question this Bitcoin thing and emulate your actions.  Wink

yeah it will because indeed thats how other people advertising bitcoin or any digital asset nowadays wherein mostly through their businesses. It's the fastest way to be honest for adaption. Just imagine last year how many people start businesses and accept bitcoin. Probably they're the real reason as well why bitcoin goes really high because the adoption is getting faster than before..

Personally, I am not a fan of music, but the majority prefer it, and therefore it is easy to convince someone of an idea and he considers you his role model, and therefore fans and football players get millions because of advertisements.

Through my knowledge of some people who are skeptical of Bitcoin, most of them did not buy Bitcoin because the government did not give them a legal guarantee, meaning that they are willing to buy anything as long as the government considers it legal and some recommend it, just as El Salvador did.

So I think we are very far from global adoption and then a single Bitcoin would be valuable.

Perhaps you should do a live streaming performance in one of your social media this way it can reach a great number of people withing minutes, the only drawback is if you suck  Grin  people will probably be discourage and that would ruin the whole idea, sounds like fun as long as it is done right.  Smiley good luck.

Love it AND just do it  Smiley
Personally I’ve got zero music talent , but if and when you do decide to do it , I’d recommend a nice big sign with the QR code easily ( and BTC logo ) easily readable. Realistically you’ve got nothing to lose and promoting Bitcoin is a huge plus . The more promotion the better and Kudos to you for even contemplating it  Smiley
Please let us know if and how it goes  Smiley

I mean technically yes? The question is just how wide your influence would be to actually have a decent and relevant effect. If you're really not a famous musician, then you're probably not going to have a noticeable effect unless you're really really good to a point that you end up trending on social media.

But regardless, if you enjoy your guitar and you'd like to perform publicly, then why not? Forget what happens after, as long as you enjoyed doing it.

As for bitcoin being for the deep-pocketed people, I mean that mostly should be a very realistic expectation. The smarter, experienced people(that aren't too old to understand tech, probably) will be able to see the value of Bitcoin before the privileged normies who just sit around and watch Netflix all day.
