they keep asking for upgrade the order and they never ship crap BFL

One of my friends received 2. On their way.. I think.

my second 60ghs Single ordered  07/05/2012 order  2831 been shipped on 26/08/2013

fist single mining non stop from the day it been received, no complains. Little noisy, once second unit received I will place both in server rack and remove covers.

You are really lucky. How much is customs duty for these miners in India.

received second one yesterday. It come this time with good bronze rating Evega PSU 500w, deployment was easy, not a single key were punched on keyboard. connected wire and cgminer picked it up and started mining. from box to operation for less then 5 minutes.  BFL shipped both miners by USPS express and it happens to become Speedpost in India. Each time I have to go to Mumbai and "fix" it.  On paper duty was 4000 INR.

I'm glad that it is over now. Planing to sale both units, making space for Bitfury.

is BFL at it yet again? Selling stuff they may not deliver...

see following email received by customers.

Dear XYZ,

We're excited to announce our 4th-generation bitcoin miner, the 28nm Monarch BPU. The Monarch is our 2nd-generation bitcoin ASIC chip design. Our first generation 65nm chip has allowed us to develop new simulation models that should be far more accurate in power and performance predictions, as well as allowing us to optimize the new generation for better power efficiency & performance gains that would otherwise not be possible. We're very pleased with the results.

Speed:  600GH/s   Power:  350W   Price:  $4,680.00

New Form Factor:  The Monarch introduces an innovation to the ASIC mining industry in the form of its PCIe capable form factor. Although the Monarch has a USB port and can be run externally as a computer peripheral just like the existing models, its PCI capability makes it perfectly suited for large scale data center deployments using common low-cost 4U enclosures.

For more information and an in depth Q&A, visit the Monarch information page at butterflylabs.com.

Have they (BFL) started shipping, and which ones?
Is the rate of shipping items more than the rate at which they were ordered?

Overclocking ASICminer blades is provided for in its guide. Easy.

Power consumption changes correspondingly.
Power Consumption:
70-75W on 1.03-1.05V,
83W on 1.1V,
100W on 1.2V,
120W on 1.2V and overclocking

For BFL miners i dont think theyll release a guide if there charging for it ,even if it can be done via a trimmer or any component tuning. If it can be done via a component tuning, maybe somebodyll figure it out and post it publicly after they start reaching miners with a electronic modding backgrounds. Until then the upgrade might be the only way.

why they would release info if they collecting money for upgrades. point is that, it is the same kind of upgrade, there is voltage regulator and there is inductor on Jally too. IF they can overclock it any can too.

Dear Benson,

All customers with orders of 5GH/s (OR 4.5GH/s) products now have the opportunity to upgrade their products to 7GH/s.

Upgrades are added to your order before it enters production, resulting in a customized product. If you choose to upgrade your unit, your order cannot be refunded.

The upgrade link is visible in your account dashboard after you log into your account on our website: https://products.butterflylabs.com/customer/account/login/

Details:
-Upgrade from 5GH/s (or 4.5GH/s)  to 7GH/s for $100

These upgrades will not affect the shipping time of your unit or your placement in the order queue.

Thank you for your order, patience, and understanding.

Regards,
The BFL Team

This is old news, I upgraded my order last week. Anyway, Josh said that there will not be any physical difference with the upgraded units, it is just a different firmware and in time someone would figure out how to do it at home.
