Wrong trade in program.Yes the FPGA "trade in" ends in March...BUT the "ASIC upgrade trade in" for NEXT generation ASIC's is what he was hinting towards Wink

BFL's success is both a pro and con for the customer. You know you'll probably get a good working product, but the lineup for it means you may get it way later than you want.

BFL has stated that in their most resent news release on their forums.

Personally, though I have hardware early pre-ordered (June) I've recently ordered more. I suspect my recent orders (End of September) won't arrive till January, but they should still be profitable.. they won't be 3 month ROI's like some are expecting in the short term, but paying for itself in 9-12 months seems like a smart investment to me.

Sure you have missed a few orders before you, but its never to late to order. Besides, there is other ways to skip ahead the ques. By that I mean that there is competitors.

I think the ideal solution for me would be if someone wants to cancel their orders to sell me their position in the queue, does BFL allow it?

That's what my original plan was, but honestly I'm getting more tempted by the day as we approach November and as they release more product specifications. I'd assume it's human nature so there might be many others at this position now.

You're right, anyone willing to keep mining will have no choice but to upgrade to ASICs, only question is from who one will buy it and how long until ASICs actually hit the market. From BFL's website they seem rather serious about the November deadline.

Wouldn't buying anything without an upgrade path at this point be useless ? Even GPU's with resale are pretty much break even now. I'm saying and asking this at the same time because i to have been wanting and hesitant to buy more mining gear, Minirig SC wont be happening because uncle Sam split my re-enlistment up more than i thought he would Sad

Yah I wouldn't bother with buying a Q#, unless you can get it for cost or lower.

I heard BFL has a pick&place now. That should mean they can make hundreds of units a week if they needed/wanted to. Just order it direct if it makes sense for you to do so. It makes more sense the more money you can afford to spend on it. But of course, the more you're spending the more likely you are to wait until product is tested in the wild.
