I saw one on ebay a while back, the seller claims by buying from him you can jump the queues. How valid, I have no idea!

Heres the link:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Butterfly-Labs-BitForce-SC-Jalapeno-3-5-GH-s-Bitcoin-Mining-BTC-Rig-Free-Ship-/120991340828?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2ba5591c

Maybe he made the pre-orders some time ago, and he hope to receive it in the first batch. He sell it and earn a 100%.

You don't know when he will receive it. When this happens, this time you will get it before others miners and before hash rate increase, will be enough to cover this $150 you will pay more?

Is it a good idea to buy now or is it too late?

Sure you have missed a few orders before you, but its never to late to order. Besides, there is other ways to skip ahead the ques. By that I mean that there is competitors.

if you buy BFL, you have some sort of upgrade path for the future.
Inaba, you should have posted this with your BFL forum account, so it's clear to OP that you are BFL employee.

Disclaimer: I'm not BFL hater and I have some Jalapenos already pre-ordered Smiley

Meaning we'll still pay the novelty price but will be probably mining at 25bitcoin/block + very high difficulty?

By the looks of it, there won't be too much ASIC mining done @50BTC. The ASIC delivery dates are within a month or less from the estimated date the reward will change.

You're not paying for the novelty; you're paying to stay into Bitcoin mining. Anything else but ASICs will not make sense unless you're on free electricity.

I'm in the same boat... why be 10,000th in line for something you can get from a competitor a month or two after BFL's first shipments? Also, with the rate of BTC appreciation, I would much rather just buy outright when the products are available.

Trust me, these default swaps will limit the risks

At this point I wouldn't pre-order BFL if I were you. Oh btw, did you notice you misspelled it in the title?

Keep in mind, if you buy BFL, you have some sort of upgrade path for the future.  Something you are unlikely to get with the other vendors, so if you're in it for the long haul it's something to consider.

In an ideal world, you'd get your preorder roughly the same time as everyone else...like preordering a game in GameStop, you can pick yours up the same day as everyone else (doesn't matter if you ordered yours first, or the 100th, etc). Theoretically, BFL learned from their shipping mistakes during the FPGA fiasco.

In a more likely scenario, go with what Squall said. If you're into mining, shopping with BFL's competitors might be a good idea. Otherwise waiting it out won't hurt.

Personally, Depends on what your doing now. If you are a miner then getting something now for later is a must, However there is more than BFL out there, Might be able to get something quicker with another producer, It is really going to be unprofitable by end of next year unless you have a few TH systems or you don't pay for electricity.

If you not a serious miner then getting some for novelty is also acceptable.

Anything bought now will only be shipped after everybody else's orders?

Is it a good idea to buy now or is it too late?
