to find markets for an altcoin just check a website like coinmarketcap,  that lists all of them and see which exchange offers which market.
like this: http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/iota/#markets
you can see IOTA is only listed don bitfinex and it only has two markets /BTC and /USD.
in case of bitfinex ,i believe you still can not deposit fiat so your only option is to deposit bitcoin and buy it.

be careful though because it seems like price is on the way down at the moment.

As far as i know, the two options are using an exchange like Poloniex or finding someone who is selling one of those tokens and trading with them. Unfortunately, the exchanges take a cut of the transaction...

I have been buying coins now for almost 2 months but always with fiat money.

So I want to buy some IOTA and Siacoin and maybe some other coins, but that's only possible with BTC.
I have about 0,4 BTC (bought for 1000 EUR) so I could split 500 EUR into IOTA and 500 into Siacoin but how do I do this?

For Siacoin I need to create an account on Poloniex, then transfer all my BTC to there, and buy Sia with it? How do I know I'm not paying more for these coins, when I would be able to buy them with fiat money?

Sorry for this noob question. Trading with coins for coins is still new to me. Kiss
