Buying drugs, hookers or anything you want really unless making other lives miserable is perfectly fine.
People on this thread, and i can't believe how many!!, saying you should not even mention such a possibility due to making a bad image for bitcoin make me want to vomit. Shame on you unenlightened and selfish sheep!

We must never use such great thing as Bitcoin to buy awful things like drugs.
This is wrong. Besides, if such story comes up in mass media, the reputation of Bitcoin will be ruined in no time.

I do not aggree...  Negative stories can somtimes cause more people to get on board.   When there are riots in the UK, they are not televised for that same reason.  Maybe the Americans should stop televising cops shooting black people.

Anyhow: So what if I live in Africa and I use Bitcoin to buy much needed pharmaceuticals?  Is that bad?

Also, tea and coffee are drugs.  As are coca leaves but do we forbid Bolivian people BTC and insist that the leaves that are sold in local markets and by street vendors are sold in USD rather than allow them to use their smart phone to pay BTC?

My partner buys oil for his electronic cigarette on-line with BTC, that contains nicotine.   Should I tell him to use PayPal or Yandex_Money?

Maybe performance enhancements are your game and you are an athlete, bitcoin would be a good way to pay?  I am no athlete but when I was at university studying, some people were using cognitive performance enhancing drugs designed for dementia patents to up their grades. Should they be made to pay for them in fiat rather than btc?

Moreover: IF (and it is a big “IF” as further research is needed) cognitive performance enhancing drugs do work and... are safe,... why don't we all use them to get ahead in life.  Maybe it would be a good alternative to genetically engineering “clever” people which is going on.
It would also create a level playing field in athletics if everyone was allowed to dope safely.

I think the OP was in Holland where you are permitted to buy and use cannabis for recreational use.

You cannot stop people and/or pharmaceuticals companies using bitcoin, dollars, pounds, rupees, yuan, grostelcoin or even ethereum.  Making the activity illegal will change nothing.  I have it from reliable sources that bitcoin is even used between inmates in British prisons.

I just want everyone to use bitcoin, who ever you are, and whoever side you are on.

I remember when my friend introduced me to bitcoin, when I asked him what can I do with bitcoin, he said that I can buy drugs and all illegal stuff. So, i decided bitcoin is very bad idea to deal with, and after 2 years i read one good article and than i realized that bitcoin isn't just for illegal stuff, it can be for good things.
At first, I never bored to say does bitcoin is used for good things or bad things it just relies on the owner of bitcoin intentions.
you know about your friend, he understands about bitcoin if bitcoin only good for doing the illegal activity but you have a different think. and otherwise from there, you have intentions to make a life is better with bitcoin. we know about the different understanding of everybody.
Bitcoin is a currency and it can be used for any purposes. With real cash, you can buy drugs and illegal stuff as well. It is all a matter of what's the nature of transaction they do. However, bitcoin was indeed highly used in the deep web for trades of illegal goods. I do not know if it is still highly used as of right now since it has surfaced.

Anyone bought drugs with bitcoin and what are you thought on the subject ?

i know i have used bitcoin to buy psilocybe cubensis thank you bitcoin i cold have not done this without you now i can trip watching corry & eastenders in the evening its such a sight.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/teenagers-using-untraceable-currency-bitcoin-7274306

Read this article and you will be shocked to find out that even a 14 years old kid can purchase illegal drugs using bitcoin. It is very alarming and that due to secrecy of identity in bitcoin transactions the children can transact and order drugs online. Since transactions are untraceable they are not afraid that they will be caught and due to this possible increase of teenager addicts will possibly occur if not stopped.

Drugs in my country is illegal and in my religion is also forbidden
I haven't buy anything illegal with bitcoin neither with fiat money
There are more thing that i can spend bitcoin for legal stuff, why need to use it for illegal stuff
You did great Posum578, you should not use bitcoin to buy anything illegal.
In my opinion,it only destroys the name of bitcoin across the world,i have many friend's who used to think that bitcoin is used ONLY for illegal activities.
and unluckily, many of them still think the same thing  Sad

I think that hypothetically you could go out and buy drugs with Bitcoin if you really cared to, but I would think that it's relatively uncommon now since Bitcoin started to become a bigger thing. I think most criminals have either switched back to conventional means and currencies or they've switched to more obscure or anonymous altcoins. But I don't know.

These days such use of bitcoin into illegal activities have decreased a lot. During the early days people started using bitcoin more for illegal purpose. Now scenario has changed, most consider it as a high potential investment as well a form of securing money.
My opinon is actually the same as yours.
Back then, when bitcoin was a pretty fresh thing,it was used mainly for some illegal purposes ( at least that is what i think now ),because it
is very comfortable for criminals to pay,to sell some things with it etc.
But after 2-3 years,we see that the bitcoin nature has changed,we see more people using it for legal purposes, instead of doing illegal activities.
this is a great change,im very glad that we see something like this.

I never bought drugs with FIAT let alone with bitcoin. Don't do drugs kids, they will only ruin you. But... A kid's [7-8 years old] mother in the neighborhood showed me a pill which she found in her kid's pocket. It was a black pill and it has a goddamn BTC logo on it. I instantly got mad than i thought, what i do about it anyway... Drug sellers are fucking everywhere, keep you kids safe.

SMH at this. I had never considered anyone would use the BTC logo for anything other than btc, mostly because it's new and not the most popular thing in the world. But to have this as a pill imprint... people are shits Undecided and this is the last thing bitcoin needs, a bunch of these popping up on the news at a school or something.

*most interesting man voice*

Usually I buy drugs.

And when I do, I insist on using a method of payment that is not publically recorded on millions of computers around the entire world forever.

Children, just say no to block chain drugs.

If the people want to buy substances with Bitcoin they can do this, it is their right to partake in open trade.

So the people should be selling good goods on the internet and make humanity thrive.

It's not true as now people are using it more for illegal activities than before as there are more websites that offer bitcoin payments like gambling websites (which is also illegal), ponzis and fraudulent transactions. I believe that drugs used to be sold earlier on the forum along with weapons and hence once theymos was forced to release the information of some users who were indulging in illegal activities. After this, there are more rules that were introduced.
