Those kinds of news are just misleading; all they want is clout, probably the reason why we see it on our recommendations. If they think that this coin should be worthless, we should've been able to recognize it first and much earlier. I still even consider BTC as underrated, it really deserves more attention.
One of the news that muddled me is all about quantum computer possibility to hack a bitcoin wallet, I thought it was bad news at first, but they just emphasize the ability of it to be used for ethical hacking.

There is a lot of good and bad news out there about bitcoin. It's up to us to choose wisely whether to believe it or not. not everyone can accept bitcoin, they have their own views. hence making bad news about bitcoin. it may not shake the interest of bitcoin lovers, but for ordinary people it will certainly shake them where they are afraid to enter the crypto world. it's ok, everyone has their own choice to trust bitcoin or not. but please note that some countries have received bitcoin, that is a sign that bitcoin is indeed good and has good prospects in the future.

I advise you not to read this type of news on the internet because they will always catch your attention in order to spit some nonsense about bitcoin.  We should read some articles that promote and use crypto in their research because having a use case and developing a technology out of it is a good thing and a boost for the crypto community.

They've been spreading FUD since 2017, and crappy news like this will continue to exist, and I'll just laugh at them for doubting in BTC. Roll Eyes

No, no no...... let's not tell people what to read and what not to read... (censorship)

Articles like this, help us to prepare to answer questions and statements that are posted in those articles. (Know your enemy to prepare yourself for the fight)

Articles like this has always sparked debate and we are looking for debates like this to debunk all the misconceptions and FUD that are spread on social media. It is forums like bitcointalk.org that are giving us a platform to debunk these articles... here we are free to speak and to bring the counter arguments.  Wink

@Kakmakr actually makes a good point, we use this forum not only for knowledgeable topics, but we also use it for something like this, something to enlighten everyone about and to warn people about articles that actually help and those that does not, let's not tell people what to read and what not to read, instead, have a conversation about it in this forum for the sake of informing everyone.

Fiat currency is backed by the government, which includes the general public, whereas crypto currency is solely reliant on its investors and what the next man is ready to offer. Because both parties include the general public, it is extremely difficult for the government to implement an investment restriction. They can only offer a treat, the impact of which will be determined by investor reactions.

maybe those who say goodbye bitcoin they are not serious they just want to get public attention i'm sure no one can leave bitcoin nowadays seeing bitcoin getting more expensive and bitcoin enthusiasts increasing.
Bitcoin have grown over the years and now the King of Cryptocurrency. I don't think many people will be able to leave Bitcoin now, it has been there since 2009. Those saying goodbye to Bitcoin don't know the value of it, while some probably want public attention as you stated. Bitcoin is indeed becoming very expensive, it currently at $43k.

I think this is just bullshit about what they want to say about bitcoin, because all of us that there are so many people who are against bitcoin for now, but it really didn't work out as they wanted it to, not only that that ban ever happened in several countries for their citizens not to mine bitcoin, and we can see until now that bitcoin is still fine even though it is often exposed to negative issues against the crypto currency
I totally agree with your opinion, friends, if they say goodbye bitcoin, maybe they are sycophants, people who are frustrated because they can't control bitcoin, under their control, bitcoin has developed very, very far, but there are also those who say so, it sounds so weird..

I got to spoke with a person who wants to know about blockchain technology. He started to make enquiries what are the softwares that are into usage on development of these platforms. I said I'm not good on technical side, maybe I'll make an request with known people and let you know. This guy is into software profession and hasn't got any understanding.

This is the important conversation, I mentioned about bitcoin while explaining and this took us into the conversation of cryptocurrencies. Finally this guy started to talk. Long back itself my friends asked to invest I ignored, even now I ignore because it isn't legal. Governments were worried about its security, because if the network is hacked the entire network ends. He continues there is no proper taxation and so on. I kept trying to make him understand the reality, this is how the article looks. Going through the article I thought it might be written by that person.

From the article: "I’ve never quite understood why cryptocurrencies are worth anything. Of course, the untraceable payments are worth a lot to ransomware hackers, cyber criminals and money launderers."

Just from reading the first 2 sentences alone from that article, you'd immediately realize you're about to read pure crap.
I tried to read a bit further into the article but all I've read was just pure blasphemy on bitcoin and most of the claims can easily be countered in an argument.

What really shocks me though is that sometimes on TV or in the newspapers there are still academics, like professors in economics, who talk the way about Bitcoin that newbies talked about it in 2012/2013. That's just shocking and concerning at the same time when you know these guys are giving economics classes.
I think the reason for these people still think this way is that they aren't fully immersed in the product and they all base their opinions on what's already in the air and just pick up and recycle then say something and sound intellectual. I think the only way is for us to introduce bitcoin to these people because most of them are just ignorant.

True that but I think that those who are ignorant are not only ignorant to Bitcoin, but ignorant towards new things in general you know? Like really stubborn to learn new stuff. I think it is sometimes not worth it to put in the effort in order to convince them of something they don't want to believe and trust in anyway because the aren't interest in getting to know it in the first place. Sorry for the wordy sentence, but you get the point and know what kind of people I am referring to I guess.

The first sentence written in this article is "I’ve never quite understood why cryptocurrencies are worth anything".
This sentence shows the author seems to reject the development of the time. When paper money was first introduced, society does not immediately accept it well, even what they have in mind when they first see paper money (it is impossible for a piece of paper to have value), but that the reality.
Bitcoin can be sent anywhere via Blockchain technology without going through a bank or sending institution, every Bitcoin transaction is also carried out unconditionally and without transfer restriction. The phenomenon of bitcoin or other digital currencies that suddenly appeared really disturbed the central bank authorities, The position of the central bank, which should be trusted to maintain stability, is slowly fading because of the supervision of bank, which have been trusted and incompetent in their intermediation function. There is a credit bubble, to other problems such as fees that are arbitrarily levied by bank, making Bitcoin with its technology increasingly approachable by the wider community.

yes he wants to spread FUD when the market is red like fire, then many of them will scare the price even more, maybe at that time he will add to his bitcoin collection and if he is honest maybe he has kept some crypto currency collections for his investment but he still does FUD for his personal interest
people like that should not be listened to let alone shared what is said, they only aim to think about their personal interests without thinking about those who are affected in an unwise way. then if we silence the action, and ignore what is said, then it will automatically disappear and can no longer influence.

how is crypto without bitcoin and we all know that bitcoin will always be connected to crypto and cannot be separated from it. all still need bitcoin to this day and will even more influential.

They are mostly paid and baked scenarios. These people never stop ruining cryptocurrency until they don't succeed. Even to ask them about Bitcoin, they just only talking about the negative side without letting people know the positive side of this project. Not to wonder reading this kind of article and ignoring them is the best solution. We are here in the crypto space for many years, we already know the situation and it was different from what they think.

I opened my phone and turned on the Internet connection in it and I was bombarded by notifications, Gmail spams, Facebook notifications, Messenger chats and others but one thing that piqued my interest was this article in Google News. It talks about how bitcoin should be banned or something, I tried to read the whole article but I feel like it's just a rant about how bitcoin is worthless and the value of it is based on faith in reality it's the same as fiat, it's just that it's backed by the government that's why it has value, I mean if you go back to bronze age and you ask for a blacksmith to make you a sword and you pay the blacksmith a piece of paper telling the blacksmith that it has value, the blacksmith would probably laugh at you and just give you the sword for free since you aren't right on the head.
Every day if you scroll through the web you’re always going to see some crap articles that has nothing meaningful to say about Bitcoin, they are just going to be dropping crap and nothing more. It’s best for you not to be looking at all these articles. For the over six years that I have discovered bitcoin and been in this community, I have always seen all these articles like these ones. And they all start with the lines that they don’t understand where the value of Bitcoin is coming, and that’s to show you that these people have no clue on what they are writing about.

Someone who really has some sense would have done deeper research to understand where the value is coming from and truly understand it, but no, these crap writers would never do that, rather they will prefer to just dish out whatever nonsense their mind let’s them believe. So stop giving your time to reading crap articles.

it feels very strange if someone dares to say goodbye bitcoin, what is the real reason they say goodbye bitcoin, maybe you can't control bitcoin, so you say so, since the advent of bitcoin until now, the number of people holding bitcoin is increasing, there is even a government who have legalized bitcoin, and accept bitcoin in their country, to serve as their currency.

I think there are many people who doubt the future of bitcoin so they will easily believe in the FUD spread by people who are anti bitcoin. This is definitely something we don't need to think about right now because we all never know what the future of bitcoin will look like once it enters its second, third and so on decade. I want to enjoy it even though in reality I can't use it as legal tender in my country.

IMO, Bitcoin is a decentralized asset that is not anti-government because generally bitcoin will be subject to rules made by the government. There is nothing to be afraid of from regulation even though there are countries that are still reluctant to accept new currencies including bitcoin. Based on what I can imagine, bitcoin will be an asset that will have more uses in modern society in the future. Although the ultimate goal is not to replace fiat as a whole, it will be an alternative currency that helps people to have a different experience with a decentralized financial system.

Here's the link to that article: https://thehill.com/opinion/cybersecurity/564696-bye-bye-bitcoin-time-to-ban-crypto-currencies
If you've been unfortunate with your journey in bitcoin, you should not spread FUDs to others so that you can pull them together with you. Bitcoin has a long way to go and there are a lot of things that are about to happen in the future. Always make sure you are doing the right thing as well as following the process with integrity so that you can really reach where you want to go in the future. You cannot claim all by yourself that bitcoin will end due to the threats of getting banned by other countries. Always be mindful with your predictions so that other people would appreciate your thoughts you are putting here.
