Account recovery is very easy if you are the original owner of the account meaning someone else has not used the account to post before you or possibly the email used you don't have access to it again, all these things makes account recovery too hard if you don't have it with you but for the case that you have them with you can make the whole process very simple for you to restore back your account if stolen from you or hacked cases.

In every system that requires account opening there is possibility of recovering account if the owner of the account could not remember the password he use in opening the account. So as a newbie in this system who just got into the system with zero experience, I wish to ask if there is anyway someone can recover his/her account if the password is mistakenly forgotten.
Don't remember your password but back it up.

If you create a password and remember it with your brain, you will forget it some day. To remember your password, you tend to create a weak password too, that is bad. You can use a same password for many accounts too, it's another bad practice.

Please, I will appreciate any adequate clarifications for my question to enable me to learn more about the system.
You can use your staked Bitcoin address, signed message, PGP key.

Op if I may understand you, your asking the questions ahead of time Incase of necessity, you have not loss account but seeking recovery means should it happened. Look there is always terms and conditions to every platform, exchange whatever your opening, while creating account example wallet you will be ask to keep all your details safe as it's the only access to it when losses occurred, it's of your own responsibility to do so. The exchange can only help if your able to provide the essential requirements regards to the account because that will be their starting point.

For instance fiat bank when you have account you have essential you need keep safe your account number, pin all your details as they may require it when you have issue if any loss through your details as you may provide will rectify it.

If you are unable to do this, you will need your staked bitcoin address or the address that you have used before on this forum for the recovery.

Recovering hacked/lost accounts
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.48896084

This is what I did when my account was hacked back in 2015 due to an attacker gaining root access to bitcointalk's server. It was a pretty straightforward process that only took only a day for theymos to check and my account was back after that.

It's a good thing that users stake their bitcoin address on this post because it can be handy whenever someone got their account hacked and the attacker changed the email address on the said account.

Only if you have access to the original email address you used to register the account. Without it, then your chances are pretty slim that even a staked Bitcoin address might not help. The procedure is simple by just clicking the forgot password option.

You don't have to write to the admin to recover an account just because you have forgotten a password. It's only necessary if someone hacked in your account and changes the email address and password into new ones.
The best thing would be to avoid such a scenario ever playing out. The way to do so is to remain consistent and updated and try to not passwords on your browser. It Might be very helpful to do so, if that's a regular visited page just like this forum, but etching the password information somewhere would help better still.

This approach to everything will save you the stress of trying to recover the account if you didn't remember to use an email to enable recover process.

If it is your personal wallet then you can recover it if you had created a backup of your wallet. If it is an exchange wallet then you can get access only through contacting the exchange. If non of those are your issue then plase explain the reason for creating this topic.

I'm also not sure what he is asking whether its a wallet that he is asking. Which normally a newbie will be asking for as well.

But if he means forum account then yes as long as he can still login to his email he can recover. But most newbies that come here asking for password actually meant his wallet password.

Why would he ask about forum account as he is stil able to login with this ID.

I believe this is a question for future reference, not related to the current wallet issue. The OP is probably asking in case hi forgets his forum password in the future, not because he has forgotten it right now. If you check his other posts, youll notice he refer to this forum as "the system" as well.

I doubt anyone would ask such a question on this board, my understanding is that such questions should be on the Meta board.

He is a newbie. He might not be familiar with all the ins and outs of the forum yet.

If you used a random email during registration, you can change it now to avoid complications in the future.
OP is talking about the case in which the password has been forgotten.
You can't change your email address, if you don't remember your password. Due to security reasons, for any change you want to make to your account, the current password is asked.

No response yet from the OP we do not know if he is talking about a Bitcointalk account or if it's a wallet account.
He was registered on April 1 why he didn't ask this after he created this that's weird if he is asking for a lost account because he said in his previous post from this link below that he was newly introduced into the system by his friend. So it means he is a newbie I don't know if the account he talking about is this account then he needs to stake a BTC address here for future recovery.

If you used a random email during registration, you can change it now to avoid complications in the future.
If you used a random address, instead of changing it on your profile you should hurry to check if that address has been opened by anyone to try and claim it for yourself.

In account recovery, the original address used when opening the account has more weight than any address it is changed to later on, for the reason that a hacker can change the email address.

Other than trying to remember it or looking for your backup(if you have one), then no. Imagine being able to 'recover' a wallet without knowing the 24 words and without having the backup — that would be a huge security issue because you could potentially gain access to a wallet that's not yours.

In addition to all that’s been said, make sure the email you used in registering your bitcointalk account is a valid one. If you’re unsure, you can check your profile to confirm. If you used a random email during registration, you can change it now to avoid complications in the future.

If it is your personal wallet then you can recover it if you had created a backup of your wallet. If it is an exchange wallet then you can get access only through contacting the exchange. If non of those are your issue then plase explain the reason for creating this topic.

Whatever you wrote in the topic don't give anyone with the reason to help you in the right direction. Unless you tell us more it would not be easy for anyone here to give the correct information. What you have written is more like a simple issue behind a large problem.
OP is not referring to a bitcoin wallet. I believe he is talking about his forum account. This is not the first time OP has used the term “system” to describe the forum.

OP, you have received advice regarding your problem. Because every platform requires users to create an account to be able to access it, they also have a way to deal with the problem of people who don't think passwords are important.
Now what you have to do is make an effort to try as much as possible not to make mistakes in remembering your account password. When you consider your account on this forum important, you probably won't forget your account password.
Just make sure you register an account on the forum with an active email, not your random email.

I wish to express my profound gratitude for having the wonderful opportunity to be part of this great innovation. However, I'm a newbie that just got into the system without much experience of what the system entails and I will be very grateful if I will have someone in the this forum that will guide me on how to make use of this opportunity to make a good contribution that will enable me to get the best benefit of the system.

Since the OP appears to be new to the forum Smiley, you, the OP, should be more careful about remembering your password. Write down the password somewhere other than your phone; do not save it in your mail; so as not to be hacked, duplicate it several times. If you are not responsible for saving your password, you will be in a situation that happened to your account, oh, or to someone from your country. Cheesy

If you:

1. Ever posted a Bitcoin address in this forum.
2. Still have access to the email you used on your account.

You're safe.

Make sure you didn't limit your IP retention, didn't enable secret question (your account can be locked), and use 2FA, your account will be high likely safe.

You should use the link as suggested by the two posters above if you want to recover your account, incase you cannot remember or lost your password. I write a topic on similar post of yours, when I forgot my password. You can read it, and see others opinions on it. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5491824

Aside from email recovery through forget password. Staking your wallet address on this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/stake-your-bitcoin-address-here-996318 can help you to recover your account later in meta using what @oshondy suggested above.

Your wallet address that you use in the forum can verify your identity through signing a message using that address once you are recovering it. It’s important to save all your bitcoin wallet address that you use here because it will help you in the future for this instances.
