I agree with you on the need to remain out of the public I'm the advent of a major win. This is the wise thing to do to remain safe because the risk of going public is much. In some countries, one will be putting his life on the life showing the public what they don't need to know.

On the aspect of the casinos placing additional charges on him for requesting to be kept anonymous, that is not clear to me. If they will do that, om what ground will that be done when there is no law that says winnings should be made public? One can even sue the companies if they disclose your identity and winning to the public without your permission.
That's why we have to refuse casinos if they want to publish us in public because this concerns our safety and may also concern our families. Casinos should also give winners the option not to publish their identity or invite them directly to the public without a face covering. There's no point in being proud by showing our faces in public, especially if it involves a lot of money.

I'd rather pay the casino if they ask for money not to publish the winner's identity because, after all, we still have more money from our winnings. But if the money requested by the casino is too much, we can file a complaint that it is unreasonable and we can report the casino to the authorities.

That's what makes me feel not very happy with offline gambling because to withdraw the winnings we have to do things I shouldn't want to do, for example when we win big at an online casino we often complain about KYC because of privacy but we can immediately withdraw all the money to a bank account and when we win big at offline gambling we also complain about this kind of public percentage problem, there are definitely things that are unpleasant, but we still have to do it.

But it's really hard to refuse to make it public because offline gambling also wants to use this method to campaign to people that their gambling really pays, it's a bit uncomfortable, but the method you say is also good, ask the organizers directly to prepare costumes that can at least cover themselves. so that he can avoid crimes that could threaten his life because of that victory.
No winner will be happy if the casino wants to show the identity of the winner to the public because the winner should be able to be behind the curtain to receive his prize. The winners do not need to go out in public because safety factors are more important than showing their identity, let alone showing themselves in public. That is the winner's privacy, which the casino should keep private, especially if there is no guarantee from the casino that they want to take us back home or to the bank to deposit the winnings.

If the casino really wants to show the winner to the public, it would be better for the casino to provide costumes and masks for the winner so that our identity remains secret to the casino. We can also feel safe from bad people who want to target the money we win. Personal safety is more important than money so we can complain about this to the casino and the casino should be able to listen.

Yes this is correct, Players has the right to refuse on revealing his identity to the public because this will put his life in danger.
By refusing casinos that want to reveal the identities of their winners, at least we are trying to keep ourselves safe from bad people.

I never saw a casino offering a security service outside their building because that’s not part of their business. Maybe they will refer you to some services but they are not the one who will handle this matter since matter since it will be their additional responsibility.
There may be casinos that will offer security services to their winners so that the winners can feel safe on their way home. But if the casino refers to a security company or security service, we can hire them to maintain our safety. But of course the safety of the winner is the responsibility of the casino.

I believe the news on OP is an isolated case because it’s common protocol of the casino to not reveal the identity of someone who win in their platform. They can announce the details in how the prize won but the identity should be in public.
Yes, that's true because no matter what, there will definitely be bad people who want to do something to the winner. They also won't know who the bad guys are. Casinos should have thought about this before they released the winners to the public.

I believe that the bettor has the option to decline. It appears that the young man may not fully understand his rights or the potential consequences of publicly revealing his identity after winning the lottery. Such an action could put him or his family in danger. Anyway, even if his identity is revealed, he has the money to disappear and go to safe places.

I am uncertain if there is any additional payment for the publicity, as winning 500k USD alone would not make someone willingly agree to reveal their identity publicly through the gambling platform.

Can a bettor reject being unveiled to the public? Are gambling platforms paying an extra money for the publicity?
I believe yes, a bettor has the right to refuse if he don't want to expose himself publicly because it is also for his own safety. Who would want to be broadcast for winning huge amount? Your relatives, friends and everyone will become aware that you became lucky. You'll be at risk as being a target of bad people.

But I think it depends on the country where you from and their rules when it comes to this kind of event. Here, if a gambler win huge in lottery, it is announced publicly but the winner remain anonymous. Obviously it is for the sake of the winner and to avoid any inconvenience.

As far as I know, if you win large amounts of gambling, it should be published, because it involves paying out large amounts, different from winning small amounts, the reason is because the casino is responsible for the money that is spent and that enters the casino every day.

For some gambling industries, to spend large amounts of money, the parties responsible for the casino and finances must know, because some gambling casinos work with partners or investors who invest, The money spent must be published in the media and this will show the public that their casino is honest and responsible for big wins for its users.

Casinos have a nominal amount of money that must be paid out in small amounts per day, so it doesn't have to be published, but unlike users who win large amounts, like it or not, publication is required.
Yeah, it must be publicized but it's also at the discretion of the winner if he wants his face hidden. I have seen this before where the winner was awarded in a stage but when it was put in the news the face of the winner is blurred and I think that's okay for security.
There must be a choice for the winner to have that kind of privacy especially if he thinks that many people will take advantage of him or he will be in danger when they knew it was him/her.
With that, the media must comply or else it will be their business who can be sued if they will leak out the face of the winner and jeopardize his life.
Most of the national lotto winners that I've seen have blurred faces while some do come out after a year or two telling their story in public and there's even a series about lotto winners here in our country and the story behind it being televised weekly. I guess they do that after they secure all the money that they won especially their will in case something bad happens.

As far as I know a winner can stay anonymous, if he wishes. And that is the best to do, especially in poor countries where you can become an instant target for everyone around, and I'm not saying only about the robbers, but also the beggars. It wouldn't be a bad idea to move on from the country to another where there is higher life quality and standards. That is, if the prize is big enough to cover such expenses and guarantee a decent source of income for a lifetime, although if the prize is sufficient only as a boost to move to another country where the winner can work and start a new life, I think it's already worth of a try. New sources of income can be acquired within time, work and investments.

I created this topic as a result of this news, a young Ghanaian man won 6,000,000 GHC ($501,664) with a bet of 40 GHC. This happened few days ago and it trended on social media. Some of the comments from netizens are that the young man should leave Ghana to avoid being robbed or poisoned.

I know some of us must have seen the formal presentation of a mega winner to the public by a gambling platform. Most times, these bookies invite media outlets to their offices to cover the ceremony, so that the news could be captured on newspapers, tv, internet etc. My questions are...  Can a bettor reject being unveiled to the public? Are gambling platforms paying an extra money for the publicity?
This can indeed lead to crime, especially if the young person's neighborhood is inhabited by a busy area, there is a risk of robbery or being vulnerable to fraud.

I think the casino published it because the casino felt they had the right to promote their site at the same time so that it would attract a lot of people's interest in gambling on their site and hoping to make big profits like this young man.

The young man must immediately be careful because his identity has been exposed and his face is clearly visible on social media, at least he must be in a safe place to be able to avoid crimes that he might face, the casino must be fully responsible for spreading the identity of its users even though got big winnings from their site.

Some companies definitely wants to announce the winners in public to show that they are fair and the winners are real.
Its a good promo to lure new user.

I dont think he will be able to stay anonymous in Ghana, so he must be think smart on how to protect himself and the money after receiving the prize.

And eventually, the winner now goes home sleeping with one eye open because he has just been shown to the world that he has won millions making him a possible subject of attack. by anyone. IMO if a bet company want to prove that they are fair and winners are real there are better measures to use in giving these testimonies that should also be in the best interest of the winner security-wise too and not just after their own company's interest to prove a point.

On the account that a gambler won such huge sum shouldn't mean he has to start watching his back when he should be in a calm state of mind enjoying and reflecting on how to invest his millions he rather be using a part of that time and money for his security. All thanks to the the bet company.
Does it really be the outcome after he won a huge amount of money. The guy already has enough money to get a security to take care of him and his family. There's nothing to worry about it as long as he hires enough men, and he won't appear in public easily. Or do the other option such as moving to another city or going out of the country.
There are people in the society that have plenteous of that amount won by the gambler but are living without security to watch their back or family members, you know why? It because they are not made public about their millions by any publicity, they just living their quiet lives in their opulence. And I think this is same life too this gambler would have loved to live but no way, because he has been shown to the world around him that he has made a fortune, a deal that could have been a secrecy within a few ears. He now has to spend part of the money on security that's what is pissing me off

This has been the tradition of bet companies, they do this in other to attract the attention of the public, to look as if they are the best in terms of winning, things if the mega winner decides not to go public because of a reason or the other, I don't think anyone has the right to force him or her to do so, is just that they might decide to deprive him something, not the money actually, but the ambassador position which I know that many bet company do, once you win their maximum limit, you will automatically be their ambassador, but I think if the winner chose not to show up the company has to do it the other way round without depriving him his right and before this their should be a formal discussion between the winner and the company in other to reach a compromise.

This is what both parties, both the winner and the company, must do. There should be no coercion because if it is published there are also risks for the winner.
for the company maybe it is also a promotion when a big win is announced to the public. it could attract some new players to them. But for gamblers who go public, this can pose some risks to themselves or their families.
It's not wrong that some gamblers choose to remain anonymous.

When someone wins big in gambling, this will create an interest in the people around them to gamble too, because they have seen proof that someone suddenly got rich from gambling.

And publicizing big wins to the general public, this is a fairly effective marketing strategy to attract people to gamble and bet large amounts on a particular platform.
In order to maintain the security and privacy of its visitors, a gambling platform must not share winnings obtained by its visitors. However, if a gambling platform just misses this opportunity, then this is a loss for the gambling platform. Because to return the money they give to their visitors, the platform must be able to attract as many visitors as possible. And the solution step taken is to promote the winning results obtained by visitors.

Can you imagine if the casino didn't show the winner in front of every people? they will say if it's not the real winner, it could be the casino's employee and the prize isn't delivered to the right person. How can the casino combat this when people always demand a proof?

Publicizing the winner is a win-win solution for the casino and the winner as long as the winner agree with that.

I think the documentation and broadcasting to the public is done by the casino or betting platform because they want everyone to know that they have casino that can really be trusted and is willing to pay every customer winnings, even in very large amounts.
This is the casino advantage because it can attract more customers to gamble there because there are many cases where casino owner runs away or doesn't want to pay his customers big winnings with any effort.
Moreover, this kind of thing has happened several times and in fact it has become topic of discussion and trending topic on various social media and news broadcasts.
But the gambler did not experience bad things such as robbery or confiscation, but he himself spent the winnings on having fun and doing useless things.

I don't know whether gambler can reject media coverage or not, but what is clear is that there is always news like this when gamblers win large amounts in fiat casinos in particular.
Regarding extra money, I don't think so but of course there is agreement from the customer to agree to coverage and broadcast in the media.

Sometimes it depends on the country in the US, companies openly mention the winner of their lottery and even his personal information I do not agree with this in my first post but if it's from a rich country like the US, Canada, or UAE it's ok because the company can secure you and authorities can protect your rights compared to third world country, in rich countries millionaires can openly roam the street.
But if I'm a winner in my country I will fight for my right not to get my face exposed or I will be spending a big portion of my money just to protect my love ones, its still better to have a private life if you hit a jackpot.
There's no stress and you can still walk in the street because people do not know you have a lot of money.

This probably depends on the lottery rules in every country, but I can't believe that your face and name has to be published publicly for you to receive your lottery winnings. 500,000 USD is a life changing amount and we would all be happy to receive one time in life such a profit from gambling. The problem with becoming a public figure depends also on the crime statistics in our countries. If it's a general safe country than I would be less concerned. On the one side I can understand the lottery company that always wants to make a big public event out of jackpot winners, it's great marketing and will attract more customers in the future. On the other side our privacy should be respected as well. I have seen quite a few lottery winners accept their money wearing a mask which seems like a fair compromise. Also in my country they usually just reveal the age and where the lottery ticket was bought, no name or picture. Stating the first name publicly seems fine to me, but the last name should be kept out of the public.

Publicizing the big winnings from gambling among the people increases the popularity of the gambling platform. But the problem is with those gamblers who win big jackpots or lotteries. In my opinion, if a gambler loses his money after winning, then what is the point of gambling ? Of course if any such winnings are presented to the public the winning gambler's permission should be obtained first. I know of several big casino sites that keep gambler information private. In the case of particularly large wins, if the gambler does not allow their news to be published, the gambling platform only mentions the amount of the win and  mentions the name "anonymous" of the gambler.
