A lot of electricity is currently being used on maintaining fiats (printing, creating new designs, destroying old banknotes etc.) and banking system (money transfers, visa and mastercard servers). Bitcoin network needs to be secured by miners who use enormous amount of electricity in order to achieve the highest possible hashrate. However, it doesn't use as much as other systems.

I think there is no reason that bitcoin becomes bad to the environment. As a matter of fact it helps a lot of people in the invirinment to grow their knowledge and to improve their social life. It also helps to the unemployed people which can be a good job for them.

In my own opinion, bitcoin ca be good for the environment. If the rich people from bitcoin help other people in environment or help to make the environment better it will be good. Many rich people from bitcoin help the environment to get better.

Technologies are not good for environment for my own opinion. But as for Bitcoin it can be good in some part. Every country spends money, resources, and peoples for creating cash. Bitcoin doesn't contain this part of that process. I would say bitcoin is not totalliy giving bad effect to the environment since it is using the Internet to be able to participate in bounty campaigns , investments and payment system. Except for mining where it use high electricity consumption but if it is using renewable source of energy then it has not contribute further damage to the environment.
Bitcoin is good for the environment. The things that affects the environment is not the bitcoin itself but the tecnology that we used to generate bitcoin. Like mining and other power source that produced radiation.

Fiat money require paper and Visa and MasterCard plastic. Thus, the manufacturer is forced to destroy nature. And in the case of Bitcoin, only electricity is spent on mining and blockchain, which can be obtained for example from windmills.
