hi guys i'm talking about Monero and ETH can they overcome Bitcoin for instance?, would that be technically possible?

LOL hell no.

You have to ask ?
I could provide technical reasons why but the price says it all.

If a Bitcoin Killer is unleashed it will be obvious and the price will quickly reflect this.
I have said that since 2013 endlessly..

Talking about the possibility of some new coin in the future ?
I would say maybe..
But most likely a coin launched by a large well known tech company.

It would have aspects of a Bitcoin but be some what centralized.
It would be trade able on exchanges with some regulations.
It would be integrated into an existing eco-system from say a Microsoft or Facebook and..
there for be able to leverage their massive user bases for rabid world wide adoption.

The clock is ticking for a shitcoin to take the BTC crown.
Hell the clock is ticking for BTC itself.

PS:
Monero and ETH ?
I said before here i would go and light my money on fire before buying those two scammy shitcoins.
So i did.
I went out the next day and pulled out some twenty's and lit them on fire and came back and posted pic's of it.

well ethereum for sure can not. there is too many problems with it that makes it a terrible choice. for example bitcoin has only 21 million coins but ETH has more than 80 million which will never let its price go up.
also bitcoin has been being distributed fairly from the start and there always have been enough coins for people to get their hands on but eth has a huge premine ico kind of thing that lets the minority control everything in other words it is not decentralized. and all that is without the poorly coded source of ethereum.

monero is a good coin but i don't think it can get close to bitcoin either, it certainly has not so far! it may get big some day but i can not see it overcome bitcoin.

and the rest of the coins are just crap.Cheesy

Surpassing and competing bitcoin would really be hard on all altcoin and it cant easily follow its track on its earliest years since we all know bitcoin is already 8 years old and now its kicking already and being known by people gradually. It would take time for them to follow the steps of bitcoin but no ones knows actuallyo n what would happen on the future.

Overcoming btc is a long way to go for any altcoin. Even looking thorough the ones we have currently, I see it as almost impossible to achieve from the fact that their real value is determined in relation to bitcoin itself, PR the fact that this community is about bitcoin, or even the level that the acceptance of bitcoin has reached in the outside world, then I say its no child's play if an alt is looking to overtake bitcoin.

At this point of time none, maybe in the future, developers keeps developing new features that can compete with Bitcoin features,so far many coins have attempted that, but they are still  behind Bitcoin in terms of adoption the concentration now is more anonymity..

As per my knowledge no other altcoin have that much capabilities to replace bitcoin because bitcoin is not controlled by any developer it is free to all users, but this all altcoin are controlled by the developer and anytime they can manipulate the coin which ever way they want. and more over all altcoin are valued in bitcoin but bitcoin is only valued in fiat currency

They both do not have the capability to overcome bitcoin. Bitcoin is already reached to major parts of the world and some of the bigger companies also have adopted bitcoin for their uses and the marketcap is also increasing much faster than any other coin.

Well, XMR Monero has a superior technology in terms of anonymity, since todays soft fork RING CT is productive and masks your transaction completely, so i believe XMR Monero has its advantages and will overcome BTC were people do not want others to see what they are doing with their money.

In conclusion to this and to answer the question: XMR Monero will overcome BTC by time  Grin

It is too early to talk about it. Surrounding 5 years, I think not overtake.
Anyway, I think that will be something new.

ETH? Monero? I hava always thought that if these coins were called to displace the hegemony of bitcoin, that would already have happened given the current problems and weaknesses that bitcoin presents, regardless of whether they are better coins than bitcoin or not.

I would say it possible in some places in the sense that for those who want to remain anonymous and bitcoin with government regulation coming and all this KYCs all over the place, then I see them overtaking bitcoin in no distant time but for the majority of the masses using bitcoin who knows nothing or who have nothing to do in secret or anonymously, then I see alts taking over practically.

I'm fairly confident that none of these alts will overcome bitcoins user base in the near future. Although  monero has the big advantage of anonymity, some has described it as 'anon- coin', there is not a clue that will overcome bitcoin. However, if bitcoin is not able to overcome its problems (segwit, blocksize, transaction fess, etc) many unhappy users will switch somewhere else but I don't believe they will come back to fiat again. As far as it concerns ethereum, imo, has a different purpose because it operates as a platform for smart contracts and distributed applications so is very different to compare with bitcoin.

Its not very likely that any altcoin will overcome Bitcoin. It become brand name. Many people I talk to call all crypto "bitcoin". Not much have heard of ETH, Monero, Doge or any.
My favorite altcoin is Monero, and Bitcoin have almost 80 times more market cap then monero, and 15 more then ETH which is second. Its big difference if you ask me, not easy to get overrun.

yes monero can overcome bitcoin rather than ETH as Monero was briefly considered as the next promising cryptocurrency. Based on CryptoNote(Monero) is known for its privacy and anonymity. These features led to its adoption by few dark net marketplaces. Also both the currency (monero & ETH) are  younger than bitcoin & the bitcoin take so much time to reach at this position so monero can also take time but it can overcome BTC

Bitcoin is the largest digital and most powerful currencies also recent statistics said that it has very strong position and day by day its growing up.If you focus on altcoins market almost are failed to fight with bitcoin.Although you are right to say that some altcoins will have value as long as they can do overcome BTC.Right now it's impossible for any altcoins that gain to overcome BTC.However, you can't predict coming future though it's challenging of any altcoins harder too overcome BTC.
