only votes will be recorded in the blockchain, but not the identity otherwise it will defeat the whole purpose.
But I am wondering what will be the coinbase transaction here? What will be the reward of creating the block?
How can you make it decentralized when election process is governed by governments?

many governments and country election administration are planning to adopt bitcoin and blockchain as the voting model we may soon voting will be blockchain based with no recounting and tapping of machines and more transparency

What do you think about voting in bitcoin? Yes it could have happened with democratic what if the country wanted bitcoin in their respective country but the fact is still difficult happened, and in my own country there is no ligality for bitcoin.

Blockchain is the only way to have a fair democratic system , either through electoral voting or fighting corruption. With this system, it will be hard to bypass it and cheat. Governments will not be reluctant to implement such technology since they will be found wanting if it goes against them and they won't be able to manipulate it as is done in the ordinary way.

Maybe what you mean is blockchain technology, not bitcoin. I think it would be good if the ballot was done using blockchain technology. The use of blockchain technology will save time to determine and announce the results of voting.
Blockchain also supports anonymity, this is of course according to the rules for voting. It can be said of democracy if people can choose without threats or pressure from others, but most contemporary leaders commit fraud to gain seats. They can get hold of the position of the ruler by doing dirty ways by buying citizen votes by giving severance pay and this is still often I meet in many places in my country.

the perfect idea to advance the country to be free from corruption, collusion and nepotism.

in my country there is a Campaign for Presidential Election, if Blockchain technology can be used in democratic voting I do not think there will be a duplicate name, because I have all been clear can be seen in BlockExplorer.

In voting to vote by using a decentralized Blockchain technology it is very likely and I think it is very good for the future progress.

that's good, then I'll give it a try. If the data is safe, of course, it is a better value.

Bitcoin principles cannot be used in a voting process. Bitcoin is a market based currency and is not compatible with such process.

Not sure if you've noticed, but there's definitely a market within politics.  It's called lobbying.  And that market completely overrides any semblance of legitimacy Democracy may once have had.  Those who make the biggest donations make the policies.  All you get to vote for are the puppets who keep the charade up that the decisions which have already been made were supposedly their idea.  Forget about voting, replace the puppets with a transparent, neutral and incorruptible consensus mechanism to govern society as a whole.

has anyone thought about applying the bitcoin principles to an incorruptible voting system? put diebold out of business?

Bitcoin principles cannot be used in a voting process. Bitcoin is a market based currency and is not compatible with such process. But behind bitcoin, the blockchain technology is very compatible to the voting process. Using the technology it is easy to track the votes coming in and there will be a transparency in voting and thus cheating in election could not occur.

There are no incorruptible voting systems. There are always detours in any cases. On paper, the human factor (toss-ups or something else), digital-hackers (viruses, hacking). Do not need to be naive.

No, not Bitcoin. Ethereum smart contracts can. Bitcoin is a means to transfer value. Ethereum is a decentralized programming language and a world computer. Ethereum will soon take over the voting mechanisms.

It's likely that this is possible due partly to the anonymity that Bitcoin strived to incorporate. Without the concept of anonymity, I'd assume many people would fear their data being compromised as well. Furthermore, the community does dictate the price of Bitcoin. When we buy, the price rises. As we sell it drops. This is pretty democratic in itself, but even beyond that blockchain technology is being explored as potential for voting systems as well. It'll be very interesting to see how that goes.

using blockchain for just one event every 4 years seems a waste of oppertunity

imagine every new law got a public vote. thus not needing houses of representatives/commons to vote for us.

the issue with old voting systems is getting enough people to take part of their day off work to vote, for there to be enough of an electorate for it to count.
but we now live in a technological time where people dont need to take time off to visit a polling station to vote. people can vote anywhere, anytime.

the only issue with technology a decade ago was preventing double voting (eg calling a hotline 2000 times to vote for america got talent)
which again is an old problem that has a solution.

if a population was given a blockchain based ID then blockchain voting can be ethically done and self audited, meaning it becomes free to use to make many rapid decisions more often than just once every 4 years

t's a ridiculous thought.
In the whole world you are using everything for a political purpose. Do not use Bitcoin or other coins for political purposes.

Yes. Applying the Blockchain technology to the democratic vote will be more transparent and more convenient. Your idea is very good, if the government apply like this would probably be better, more fair.

I want to clarify that bitcoin uses for transaction, storage of asset and investment. It means, bitcoin can never be subjective when using for election. But, the blockchain technology that used in bitcoin can apply the principles of a fair voting system. Due to the capability of blockchain to store a data that which is decentralized, I think an equal plebiscite or vote can happen.

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, when we talk about transparency, I think you are trying to say the blockchain technology. Blockchain technology can use in voting in my opinion. Data can be store in a blockchain, it cannot also be intercepted easily by either two of the parties, blockchain is decentralized, transparent and reliable. I think, thee comes a time that blockchain will use in election also.

People place far too much emphasis on the supposed panacea of voting.  At best, voting for an elected representative is a paltry impersonation of democracy.  When you stop and think about it, it's not really freedom at all if you need to have the permission of someone in authority to have an election in the first place.  And having to select someone from a predetermined list of candidates isn't freedom either.  Neither is votes being aggregated and grouped by arbitrary lines on a map, which those in authority can redraw to sway the result.  Once your elected representative speaks for you, they have all the freedom, you just surrendered your freedom to them.  Voting is based on what people claim they're going to do, but once the voting has finished, how many times do the election pledges actually come to fruition?  There's no guarantee of getting the things you believed you were voting for even when your preferred candidate wins.  There's also little to prevent "lobbying", otherwise known as "corruption", so money will always influence policy far more than any vote ever will.

Don't just record votes on a blockchain.  What a waste.  Consensus is better than voting in just about every conceivable way.  The sooner we apply Bitcoin's governance model to wider society, the better.

If everyone had a client that, rather than enforcing rules on a network, enforces laws within a geographical region, each person can make a determination about what those laws should be.  Majority consensus decides.  No need to surrender the decision making progress to some career politician who clearly doesn't give a shit about what you think.  Those unwilling to abide by that consensus can move to another geographical locale.  Society by the people, for the people.  Dispose of elected representatives altogether.  Consign them to the history books as the worthless middlemen they clearly are.

voting in the Bitcoin system has a different mechanism than the conventional voting system. In Bitcoin, voting is usually specified with flag day. Flag day marks the start of the vote. This sound is calculated by counting the number of blocks that have certain flags as predefined.
