Crypto currency may not stand properly without bitcoin.
I'm thinking of many logical comparisons where we can describe bitcoin has the highest position of them all.
But to explain briefly since there are too many posts that have said their opinions about the question and most of them told almost the same on my mind.
I'll only say to those that are thinking that crypto market can stand without bitcoin, crypto's will never be too strong and the same without bitcoin.
Bitcoin has been the king of all cryptocurrencies, already has a large edge, and been the benchmark of all other cryptocurrencies. Realistically, there have been other potential coins, ICO's in the market. In addition, despite the differences and its potential I still believe that each coin has its own strengths and weaknesses, it has different functionalities, offered great opportunities, and it's up to us to decide where to trade or invest. It depends how that coins strengthen its network, promote, and support its system for it to stand stronger and gain trust from the public. Better do background check, do research, and be strategic.But to explain briefly since there are too many posts that have said their opinions about the question and most of them told almost the same on my mind.

About your opinion that they have weaknesses and strengths, I agree with it but we're only talking about bitcoin here and what will happen if ever there's no bitcoin for the market.
Altcoiners will say the same thing that you have said.
Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and its network or the public ledger was considered the first blockchain. I am 100% sure that cryptocurrencies will prevail even without Bitcoins. There are many solid projects lie ETH, NEO, XRP. Stellar Lumens that can really strengthen cryptocurrencies in the long run. As a result, I am not at least worried about crypto and blockchain without Bitcoins.
I can not imagine someday bitcoin no longer exists. Bitcoin is the common currency of cryptocurrency world. If bitcoin is no longer exists, what crypto currency will replace it in order to lead this market?
I think no... because bitcoin influences a lot investors.. if price drops crypto market drops.. so if bitcoin ends then it will be very dangerous for whole crypto market

You are right, and bitcoin is the basis of the price of all alts in the market so if bitcoin will disappear maybe all alts or all cryptocurrecies will disappear too.

Not a chance i think.Bitcoin has more uses actually than any altcoin out there.Most of the altcoins are probably the ones useless lol
Never, in my opinion BTC is the core coin that attracts many investors to the crypto market, so if you can show them the big and potential coin like BTC they dare Risk of investing in, if exist altcoin can not
Anything could happen. But I can not imagine the world of cryptocurrency without bitcoin, because we can see the expansion of bitcoin that is very far away. Exchange, Mining and etc they exist naturally in the presence of bitcoin. If it can happen it will definitely require a very important reason, at least there are at least 2 coins that can compete with bitcoin is ethereum and ripple although their distance and with bitcoin is still very far away.
The point is altcoin against bitcoin. Like that huh? Bitcoin will not defeated with altcoin. Because, it's so difficult. See the price of bitcoin is very high, and maybe altcoins will be difficult to against bitcoin. And one more thing, BITCOIN IS NEVER DIE!
Blockchain is technology behind Bitcoin.It´s difficult to imagine that cryptocurrency world exist without Bitcoin but it is possibile.
Definitely No.It is impossible for the reason that bitcoin is a cryptocurrency.It is blockchain.It is dgital money.Bitcoin and cryptocurrency go hand and had.

I disagree that bitcoin is useless. Many people use bitcoin as a storage of money, some uses it as a currency and also for other transactions.
As an answer to your question, I think it is possible that an altcoin can lead the market someday, however, it will only be possible if bitcoin crashes and lose its popularity which is I think will took to long to happen. Bitcoin is just getting started to attract investors, from last year's price until now that many advertisements and news contains information about bicoin and other cryptocurrencies. Also bitcoin is the pioneer of all cryptos and most investors trust bitcoin more than any other cryptos.
I don't think the cryptocurrency will stand without the bitcoin support. Bitcoin is the first decentralized cryptocurrency. Bitcoin has become an identity of cryptocurrency. That's why most of the people has invested their money in bitcoin.

Yeah, in my view, crypto currency can not stand without bitcoin. Bitcoin as the oldest crypto currency gives great influence to the development and advancement of crypto currency. Bitcoin also has pioneered the existence of other crypto currency. So the crypto currency can not stand without bitcoin. Public confidence in bitcoin is so ingrained that it is difficult if the crypto currency will leave bitcoin.
Yes crypto currency can stand even bitcoin will gonna lost forever just like human kind after some old people die the next generations much takeover the world. I can see that any altcoins can survive even without bitcoin as long as there are some supporter of this coins.
In my opinion, crypto currency is very easy if you want to stand without bitcoin. Indeed until now bitcoin is still the king of crypto currency but all that will not last forever. While there is a stronger crypto currency than bitcoin then the possibility of bitcoin to shift from the top position is very easy. It can not be denied anyway if bitcoin can not make innovations and improvements to the system then bitcoin can be replaced by other crypto currency so it is possible if the crypto currency is standing without bitcoin.
Bitcoin is the base currency. It is something which drives this whole market. As of now its hard to perceive a future without it.
