I've realised that for new entry to crypto as of now ($7000/btc), it doesn't make any sense to purchase altcoin with the current BTC exchange rate.

Chances are, when BTC has a pull back; altcoin will increase in value.

But the capital appreciation from altcoin will knock off by the decreased value in BTC when we cash out to fiat currency.

SOOOOOOOO, the big question is...can I purchase altcoin with ETH?

Yes you can buy some altcoin using your ethereum wallet in etherdelta.com exchange. Some altcoins are listed in etherdelta like some of the latest airdrop from bounty section. Just import your MEW or your personal ether wallet to the etherdelta(be careful with the phising link). Deposit your eth to etherdelta and you can buy now some altcoin in their altcoin list.

You can do it in some big exchanges like polo. But what is the issue? Even in other exchanges you can exchange your ethereum to bitcoin after that you can exchange this bitcoin to any altcoins.

I think your purchase is reasonable because the bitcoin is too high and the eth and the altcoin are scary and down the bottom and the bottom line is that you buy the altcoin at the lowest price possible. After altcoin recovery, there will probably be a lot of words and if you find the coin price is very few hundred sts a coin then there are many coin will x2 value after altcoin recovery

You could buy altcoins using ethereum by means of trading to a person or through wallet exchange. If through a person, you must find a trustworthy one or a true traders by looking at the trust rate here in this forum. If through wallet, you must do deep research before doing transaction to prevent hackers or spammers.

Actually it can be dude but the funds you have must be available first because it needs big capital every time doing various types of coin exchange. And it's possible to walk according to plan if you meet all the requirements. If still not very understand can be in search in Google.

That may be in your perception but many others may still trade altcoins at Bitcoin price currently, because they believe Bitcoin prices will rise even higher. As for your problem, you can buy altcoins with Ethereum. Some online trading platforms support this. Etherdelta is a decentralized currency trading platform and it only supports coin trading with Ethereum, it is also quite simple to use. I think it is suitable for your requirements. Bittrex and Poloniex also supported this issue. You can refer to more

YEs you can buy altcoins with Ether and, personally, I prefer to. The fees and wait times with Bitcoin are considerably higher!

The best exchanges in the market are etherdelta and bittrex and many more. I suggest etherdelta i feel its easy to use and user friendly as well. Just import the coins to etherdelta and carry out the buy and sell quantity of altcoins. ETH almost supports all types of altcoins and is easy in terms of buying and selling the coins.I would still see the volume increasing day by day in etherdelta.

Practicly every exchange server has the ability of an ETH market as well, where you can easily buy alt coins with ETH. But beware, just because BTC is rising does not mean the alt coins are declining, while their BTC worth becomes less due to the BTC rise, their dollar worth is practicly still the same. For example ETH was a few months ago still around 300$ give or take but also around 0.09 BTC worth. Now BTCs dollar worth has more than doubled so ETHs worth has now become around 0.04 BTC while still being around the same dollar worth as back then.
So in short, those that bought alt coins stayed at roughly at same dollar worth, but got halved their BTC worth. And those that didn't spend their BTC on alt coins have doubled their dollar worth while still having the same BTC amount and due to this can now buy twice the amount of alt coins.

You can buy altcoins with etherium from EtherDelta. This exchange is quite good, and has got many altcoins.
And obviously these days trading btc is not profitable.

And you can, i don't care about the current price of the bitcoin. You should purchase various altcoin through the major exchange site and about the wallet i suggest you use or download eidoo wallet. it seems to be a very reliable wallet right now.
Bitcoin gets its traction on the bitcoin's price. We are waiting for another correction to the bitcoin asap. I believe that will be happening in the future.
Ethereum already traded in everywhere just like bitcoin.

Altcoins tend to grow more when the day of bitcoin. Ie. if bitcoin falls 20% then we can expect the growth of each altcoin at least 30%. IMHO.

Nearly all exchanges have eth/alt pairs, however I would not count on alts rising when bitcoin falls in price, if it is a really sharp fall a lot of money may flow back to fiat etc. Although logic would suggest BTC price falling would lead to alts rising in value relative to BTC this is often not the case.

There are some multi assets wallet like Coinomi and Exodus that have a built in exchange, you can use it to exchange your Ethereum to other altcoins or Ethereum tokens. Shapeshift and Changelly also lets you convert any altcoins to other altcoins without creating any account, you just have to select the input and outputs. For example your input is Ethereum and output is Bitcoin, provide the destination Bitcoin address and it will generate address where you will send your Ethereum.
