I don't think you can buy Crypto on Ebay. Actually Ebay doesn't allow digital currency listing. and you cannot look forward to buy crypto in ebay. there are several listings of things on ebay but cryptocurrency is not one of them. As per google: ebay prohibited Listing of digital currency since July 13 2021.

It must have hurt a bit when Mr. Mars inflated that coin to $0.70, because for $100 you could profit to an extent that you couldn't even imagine.
Nah, not really. I think that most of us who are in crypto long enough made some mistakes that cost us  a lot of money so that's just how it goes (either we sold too early/didn't buy enough/lost wallet etc). Its all part of this game.

Who would have thought that 10 years later that same coin would be worth $0.70 or today around $0.10 - I hope you sold them at their peak Cheesy
Unfortunately I lost the wallet long before DOGE reached its all time high. Few months after that purchase I went on a long break from crypto due some reasons and when I came back I coulnd't get the acces back of the crypto wallet.

It must have hurt a bit when Mr. Mars inflated that coin to $0.70, because for $100 you could profit to an extent that you couldn't even imagine. I don't know what kind of wallet it was, but if you simply forgot the password, there is always a chance that you will remember it or brute force it.

There's no secret keyword to search for crypto-related trade, payment, or activities on eBay because eBay is a marketplace and it's never an exchange site so there's no way you can buy cryptocurrency on eBay.
Second, if you're talking about using crypto as payment on eBay, the platform never supports crypto as a mode of payment but you can try Amazon using foldapp and paywithmoon I would have recommended Purse but ever since the website acquisition happened their service have changed

Wow, buying crypto on eBay? That takes me back! My first attempt getting into crypto was on eBay too, did not go so well though.  Taught me real quick you need reputable sources in crypto.  Nowadays there are safer ways to get into it and  ebay seems so old school compared to centralized exchanges and DeFi platforms.  At least I have learned from those early days.

I'm not sure how but those that are into crypto like selling they'd just order it from a specific merchant and it will be delivered to them once the payment is confirmed. But since it's no longer allowed there, he should look into the exchanges that he may be comfortable to transact.
It was just as you described, you sent the money via Paypal and once the seller gets the money, he sends you crypto.

My first crypto buy was actually on ebay. It was back in early 2014 and Dogecoin was just released and since I coulnd't afford one whole bitcoin I decided to buy $100 worth of DOGE. Since I already had ebay account and was using it regularly, friend suggested me to buy some via ebay. Crazy times... Cheesy
Wow, that's nostalgic and what an experience.

Dear, I have been working on the eBay Platform as a seller but for now, I am not working anymore there due to some personal reasons. As far as I remember they said that they would launch/make their ecosystem Crypto Friendly so that people can easily buy or sell their items using cryptocurrency but dear I have never seen people selling their crypto asset.
But for now, it's good that they're not going to do that and those that are thinking of buying crypto there or spending their crypto on ebay, find a better way to do that because it's not possible there if doing that directly.

I would like to ask OP that in which context he is asking as if we want to buy or sell any crypto asset we have to do P2P through these kinds of platforms only if the seller agrees to do but keep in mind one thing that you can easily get scammed there because for now, eBay is not crypto friendly. Let's suppose you add eBay to track the activities you want to do, or you involve their services to track your activities or you give them the reference of your activities they will not support your activities for now because their ecosystem is not crypto-friendly. So OP take the risk at your own end.
Before it was a crypto friendly platform and that means that anything can be sold there even crypto, the context is that he wants to buy crypto there just as like purchasing through exchanges.

It never occurred to me to buy any altcoin, and Doge was actually the first coin I had in my wallet thanks to faucets. At that time, the price of Dogecoin was so low that it was usually expressed as 1000 Doges = $0.14, and you could very easily collect a few thousand every day on the faucets. Who would have thought that 10 years later that same coin would be worth $0.70 or today around $0.10 - I hope you sold them at their peak Cheesy

And why would you buy bitcoin on eBay? There are specialized platforms where you can do this. Such as centralized cryptoexchangers, like Binance. Not the best option, but definitely better than eBay. Smiley The solution to the issue of purchasing bitcoin using Bisq or BestChange is, of course, much better in view of the absence of KYC (in some cases).
Back when I was first involved in cryptocurrencies, it was supposedly a way to purchase crypto, mostly Bitcoin or Litecoin, with PayPal. As another poster already mentioned, eBay banned the sale of virtual currencies, in 2021. It was actually quite common loophole to acquire crypto, while KYC was far more lenient those days, PayPal accounts functioned with limitations without any valid identification, don't ask how I know  Roll Eyes. I'm talking about somewhere between 2014 and 2016. I remember because I had my parents PayPal and it was the only way I could find to buy, even though I never proceeded.

That's probably because it used to be a thing in the past.

I got you a couple of threads for your curiousity:

1. Buying Bitcoins on ebay
2. Buy bitcoin on eBay?
3. I bought a Bitcoin on eBay using Paypal. Be careful buyers as you are not covered if seller doesn't send.

Fast forward to present time, I believe you have already answered this as there are no secret words plus unlike the old days, we have so much more options now when it comes to buying/selling. Stick with crypto exchanges, op.

Just try to find a legal way to buy Bitcoin. You may use P2P services to buy Bitcoin with your local fiat.
How can something that is still outside the legality be purchased in a legal way? Smiley It’s better to say, the most convenient and easiest way to buy bitcoin. And it’s important, safe, because there are still plenty of scammers.

If OP is looking for bitcoin to buy on eBay, then I doubt that he should make P2P purchases, especially for fiat. No matter how they tricked him there.

Are you sure eBay is offering to sell or buy Bitcoin? From curiosity, I searched there, but I couldn't see any option to buy or sell Bitcoin there. Just make sure you aren't going to be deceived by scammers. There is no need for any secret words to buy bitcoin. Secret words or seed phrases are for securing your wallet. No one can offer such words to sell. If you find something like this, it means they are scammers. Who has access if the seed phrase means he has access to the funds? Just try to find a legal way to buy Bitcoin. You may use P2P services to buy Bitcoin with your local fiat.

EBay is for getting gadgets like phones, computers, TV, and others, it's not a crypto exchange, if you want to buy crypto you have to find crypto exchanges, like Binance or HTX, among others, if you are looking for a way to sell your gift card for BTC then you should find platforms that deals with gift cards like bit refill or Remitano.

If you have any gift card you can exchange it for BTC on remitano for example, they are not like Binance exchange and other crypto exchanges, I think you should relax and learn about crypto exchanges and how to trade first, to avoid making some stupid mistakes.

Many people have lost money this way, even on something like paxful, so it's better to do your own research first before using any platform online, there are so many scam websites online this days and only doing some research will safe you.

Go and check for yourself, open Ebay website and type bitcoin.
Ebay is usually selling physical items, not digital items like Bitcoin, and even if did sell it I would not recommend buying it there.
Paypal is working with Ebay and I think they added support for bitcoin a while ago, but I would not hold bitcoin on any centralized services like that.

CAN I BUY CRYPTO ON EBAY?

Don't buy what you don't understand, and when you're looking for Bitcoin on such a site, you have a big problem - not only with the fact that you're looking in the wrong place, but also that you probably wouldn't know what to do when/if you manage to buy Bitcoin. Someone could sell you fake forked Bitcoin, or not actually sell you anything, and still claim to have sent you something.

First, get well informed, then find a safe wallet, and only then start investing, and only what you can afford to lose. Every investment is risky, never forget that.

Don't know why he think about he can buy crypto in Ebay since if he really mean the crypto well there's no way he can do that. But if he mean those virtual and crypto collectibles then maybe he can do that since I think there's a lot of sellers selling crypto collectible stuff on that platform. But if he want to buy crypto maybe he should locate those local exchange which accept their local currency or what currency that give convenience to him.
He mean literally crypto and I think that's because it's allowed before to do that there. I'm not sure how but those that are into crypto like selling they'd just order it from a specific merchant and it will be delivered to them once the payment is confirmed. But since it's no longer allowed there, he should look into the exchanges that he may be comfortable to transact.

Two exchange you mentioned is good platform to execute that but if he want a platform where he can directly trade his bough crypto then maybe he should check binance which is best exchange to trade at the moment.
Those that I have mentioned don't require him KYC but if he uses Binance, he should see himself ready to comply with the kyc policies through verification of his identity.

Ebay doesn't accept crypto payments. Use services like from Bitrefill to buy ebay gift card which you can pay with crypto. Also check if it's supported on your country.

https://www.bitrefill.com/us/en/gift-cards/ebay-usa/

Thanks to yamane, @OP you can't buy there either any crypto. Since you can't find any sales there, if someone offers you that you can buy from them, it's possible that you may likely get scammed.

That's correct basically I don't see reason of using it in as much you see that you could not find luck others means are there to be at safer side I think allot of suggestions is on ground that can help you to avoid scam.

eBay is not the only place where you could use cryptocurrency to make payment, since they have announce the suspension on that, i will suggest that you take a look on some of the available list and stores where you could possibly achieve this on-line from the list published under the link provided below.
