Some people including me have multiple myetherwallets as if one accounts is lost to a hacker or for some other reason the private key is lost, we do not end up loosing all our ERC20 tokens. The same goes for bitcoin wallets.

How can you hide your private keys from a computer with internet? The wallet itself is being created via internet. Then you need 100% internet to create one. So you'll use internet.
You can download Myetherwallet from their website. And run it without any internet connection. It is recommended to run a virus scan beforehand and reboot your computer before generating a key.
For a much more secure method, use a computer that have never touch the internet, this is the best method to keep your private keys safe. Also, consider buying a safe box with fireproof capacity to store your private keys (written on paper).

If you are talking about hack you can't have two accounts the hackers can only gain full control of the site for some time but there are some fake site out there that you need to be careful of they only want to steal your funds
There is no limit to having myetherwallet more than 1 account. As long as you can manage it properly and not get trapped by phishing site.
If we want too manage more and more MEW account's then we must definately look at securing them.There are many phishing sites waiting to trap the users even the first result in the google search I mean the AdWords also shows a phishing address.
The best way is to bookmark the site and use that for future logins and we can use etherscan to check its balance. The lesser we login the more safe or account's will be.

I also notice of that scam link on slack bot that always pop-up that ask for an update for your wallet. They hit more people and stole there eth wallet.
That's the problem people didn't foresee with the sort of service MEW offers. It's extremely vulnerable to phishing attempts. Don't be mistaken though, this has nothing to do with MEW as a service, it's just a problem of accessing something through the web. People have to learn to be wiser than clicking on links and entering their info.
As soon as you "login" to a website and see details that aren't right, immediately lose all cookies, go to correct website. Change PW.

Ohw yeah you can have it and you better have it for different purposes. I'm using more than five for different tokens because I'm afraid of loosing them in single shot if my account get hacked by any means.
This decision I have taken because I have been through a phishing attempt when I started with altcoins. Somebody sent me mail regarding change of private keys or shit like that and when clicked the link then there was same website or look alike site to my ether wallet which asked me for private keys. This could have led to chaos so from then now I use different mew for different tokens.

I think should would be used your privatekey in other wallet, That means if as long as your private key still safe and your amount will be safe although the mew got hacked by the hackers. it's means that any wallet can be hacked?
But just like parity there is a possibility to be hacked.
Why you want to new myetherwallet account.What did happen to your other wallet it s hacked or something because i never need to change my ether wallet
Yeah make as many as you want. i have one for each different token to minimize loss if i get hacked.
Like @defunctec mentioned, this approach is overkill and most likely to fail by management hickups.And I voice doubts that your redundancy is safe from the same hack, like all wallets maintained from single desktop.
Or two completely similar desktops, featuring the very same security leak.
Just a small advice from someone stupid who transitioned 8+6 IOTA wallets.

As far as I know of, MEW do not save private key. Therefore, the ETH wallets should stay safe if MEW is hacked.
I am not sure whether the hacker can access your wallet if the hack happens when you are accessing your wallet. Hope some experts can clarify on this point.

Yes there is no restriction on creating myetherwallet account and in fact that you can create a lot of it. What came to your mind about asking this thing? But I would prefer to have only one but if you prefer to have many MEW accounts at the same time it's up to you. My suggestion is that use only one, what will be the purpose of having many accounts there? Just keep your private key.
