Great initiative, a natural way to raise awareness about Bitcoin. It may look an absurd thing to someone who doesn't know but soon enough they'll get curious about it then the topic will definitely goes from one mouth to another and be included in a family or friend discussions.

This is one of the reasons I believe the "Merit" system hasn't really been used properly. If you actually acknowledged this "Oh yeah, I love this initiative. Well, to the other issue - this should serve as a caveat though. Before you ask if the shop or business allows for payment with Bitcoin, make sure you have some in a wallet in case the response is " Yes!" So you don't end up looking embarrassed.
Yes, it is annoying when people don't use merits. Noone should have merits they should have spent them long ago like as soon as they get them. I don't have any merits
which is the other problem. Those who hand out merits should get them often and become merit sources. There need to be more merit sources. You make good posts sometimes and no one even reads them. The same situation with asking shops about bitcoin. People need to do their bit to help. I ask about bitcoin even when I know they have no idea what I am talking about. I ask the waitress and waiter if they want a bitcoin tip. xD

In my country, paying for bitcoin every time I buy something is still very difficult. Almost all daily expenses are paid in cash. If you ask: can i pay with Bitcoin? Certainly the answer will be no. Some people invest in digital money but not everyone knows it.

Once I tried this way to push people to accept Bitcoin, but no one accepts payments in Bitcoin at that time. A couple of months ago my one of my village mate opened a coffee and burger shop, then I asked him to accept Bitcoin payment through the Coinbase, he smiled and accepted my crypto payment. It was a new experience for both of us and good thing is, by seeing him taking crypto as payment some other shop owner started to do the same. So, OP, I agree with you, we should do it regularly.

After a single question, curiosity will run through their mind and that is what brings them to take action to be knowledgeable about it. Learning and spreading a word comes from a single question, and that is what expands the community we have right now.

This is so cool! Thank you for the idea and for spreading awareness about Bitcoin. Somehow, they will really do their own research after that. I think if we will have a card that shows a golden Bitcoin logo on it, that will be very convincing or showing our mobile phones with QRcode scanner.

Me and my friends go over to asking the staff every time we have to pay a bill somewhere at the checkout if we can pay with Bitcoin. Of course the answer is always no. We are much more concerned with raising awareness among the general public about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in particular. Because we often see that shortly after this question, employees tell their colleagues about this presence, and they will almost certainly do so at home. A single question can reach dozens of people and Bitcoin is becoming more aware.
So: go out and invest those few seconds during each payment process to push the Bitcoin!

The idea of yours will surely give them interest and start thinking what is bitcoin. this is also good way to tell to all people that bitcoin or cryptocurrency is spread and there are a few people on that place that use it. maybe we should exercise this to help btc to be spread more and also we can do this as always to the country that lack of knowledge about bitcoin.

There are selfish person out there who know cryptocurrencies but he doesn't have any plan to spread what he know. It is really better if we will share what we know to other people because there is a positive effect to whole cryptocurrency market. We should not be selfish, we should always share our knowledge to other people for them to adopt it. There are many stores that are willing to adopt it if we will influence and encourage them. This is a great idea. It will really help spread bitcoin knowledge and open up something that will change the payment system. Maybe mostly will ask us back what is bitcoin and in that way we can give them ideas about it.

Peoplewho doesn't know about Bitcoin would be curious about it and maybe they would try to invest if they find it profitable for them,

It is a good idea to raise awareness to the public. In my community there are still a lot of people who do not know what it is and it uses. As a part of the cryptocurrency community, I have also responsibility and it is to raise awareness to the public. Asking stores and other merchants if they are accepting bitcoin or other cryptocurrency as mode of payment is really a good idea to promote it.

It could potentially increase adoption on single-user level and smaller community, which could increase demand and thus, the price. It could also make larger companies look into adopting cryptocurrencies because it's what the people 'want' to be accessible, though I still think we are still small in number. In US alone, only 8% actually use and hold cryptocurrencies, and that number would be reduced based on how many of that wants to participate in the agenda.

Indeed short questions sometimes can make curiosity people increase because if we asking this questions everytime we want to make transactions then those people will asking too what is mean bitcoin and indirectly this makes people slightly understand what is bitcoin and who knows after short explanation from us they will interested to joining and using bitcoin so i do liked with your idea

Of course, this can be helping a lot because all businesses are always listening to their customers or clients and if they can sense that a good number of people or possible customers are asking for something which they think they can easily provide then they will do it. In fact, the biggest reason why we have low number of merchants is because people are not asking for the possibility to pay with Bitcoin as the majority of Bitcoin holders are more concerned with speculations rather use Bitcoin as a currency or to pay with something. When there is a big demand from people that they be served with the choice of paying with Bitcoin, then there is no question that a business will really do anything to have it on board. In other words, we have a big problem on the demand side.

I will ask in some stores. Privately owned ones. I don't ask in chain stores since the people are less likely to talk about it as much as a private one since they have almost 0 control in a chain store but in a private store, their opinion will be heard. It is also easier for private stores to start using crypto. I think they will need to learn how to convert to either stable coin or fiat so they do not lose the value of their services or whatever they sell. They could also choose not to sell and keep to hodl as an investment as well. It really brings many different things to the table.
