Loneliness is just a part of living, our Loneliness exists if our mind Recognizes it and gives it the order to feel alone, so when we are in any activity, or in our home we always look for ways to do things better,  For example, if we are at home we feel like doing anything, and who tells us no? Nobody, if we want we go and do it, and if we don't want to go out or do something then we don't do it, we have our complete freedom, so in this order of ideas when we are in a time of healthy environment and we don't like loneliness That is what causes us some Terror, or stress, or something that does not make us feel alone, some people resort to having or going out to other places, traveling and doing any type of activity if we stick to doing any type of activity. thing, what can we do? Go to a casino? yes, why not? Does going to a casino mean that we are going to be violent, addicted people? No, the company has a sometimes very erroneous approach to casinos , for this Reason when we are in the middle of action of any kind we must think about the best for ourselves.

Is addiction the best thing for anyone? I don't think so, nor are we looking for a way to lose money, if we see that in a casino we allocate about 30usd and we lose it, are we going to continue having more money? No, we wouldn't even want to be stupid, because the money that was spent there, but what we could lose, the rest of our money could be compromised, and that with 230usd we could have had fun all afternoon making small bets, resting, playing in other games, and it just so happens that when we are playing casino games time flies, and when we see the clock a lot of time has passed, that happens because of our great commitment to concentration on our activity, and that does not mean that we go away Addicts.

Loneliness can make one do a lot of things, get addicted to a lot of things, and do so many crazy things, but all that depends on your preference and what actually gets your mind off whatever you are passing through at that moment. Like you said, your friend's wife left him. I assume that the incident has broken him emotionally, and he is actually looking for something to do in order to get out of this situation.

Some people can get addicted to alcohol, getting themselves drunk more frequently, while others are never drunk. Some get used to smoking, and some people also get used to taking hard drugs.

So, in my conclusion, I think loneliness can really make people do different kinds of things that they can easily get addicted to.

I'm confused and looking for answers

If you are lonely, can you have interest in gambling simply because of your loneliness?
A feeling of loneliness can easily lead to depression. Somebody in that situation can do anything to feel better; some resort to drinking, some play games and I wouldn't be surprised if some can choose gambling as a solace. So, yes loneliness can be the reason for some people to indulge in gambling and if that be the case, their are chances such person will perform so badly in gambling. This is because the are not with the right frame of mind and that will affect their decision making.

How would you judge someone who says they don't gamble because it's fun, is that a sign of a gambling addiction?
I'm not among those who think they can gamble for fun because there is no fun in loosing your money. The winning rate is very low and the only thing that makes the difference is that win to loss ratio for gambling is very high which is as high as 1:10 to sometimes 1:1000. Meaning one win can offset several losses. Gambling is a serious business and should be treated as such and not like some random video game. I saw a ticket of a $100k bet shared here...that make me begin to wonderful who will place a bet of such amount and call it al for fun!

It could, but also gambling could make someone lonely as well, we need to focus on that part a lot more. Someone who gambles because they are lonely, could be lonely because they are gambling. Not a lot of people would want to be in relationship with someone who would be spending all their money and keep losing at casinos, why would they want to put their life at the middle of something that is a psychological issue?

Also, because you are gambling and even maybe "chatting" with people there, you may think that's good enough for your life, and you get to work during the day and gamble during the night and not socialize outside or meet with new people. That could be quite a terrible thing without a doubt.

With the rate of suicide increasing due to loneliness, it would be better to embrace responsible gambling than taking one's life. Gambling might not be the ideal solution to boredom but it could assist in the recovery process for people who are suffering from depression caused by loneliness. Although I will recommend other means of fighting loneliness such as visiting friends, playing video games, watching movies, or seeking professional help if gambling seems to be the only activity that gives the person relief, there is nothing wrong with engaging in it responsibly. I am by no means advocating for gambling addiction but it is better than having suicidal tendencies. It is just a matter of choosing from two evils which one is manageable.
I don't know whether it is true that suicide cases are increasing due to loneliness and in several countries we might see various news about suicide cases, the majority of which are due to being in debt, financial problems and also love problems.
These three are the main factors in someone ending their life, not loneliness.

But it is true that gambling provides really great effect of pleasure and satisfaction that cannot even be obtained from other activities, so it is only natural that many gamblers have reasons for being lonely or having nothing to do when they decide to gamble.
And about gambling being able to help relieve depression or stress, I agree because when someone gambles they feel entertained even though they have to give up a certain amount of money which might be lost more quickly.
Just don't lose control or overdo it because when this happens it doesn't relieve depression but adds burden that is even more complicated to feel.

In my opinion loneliness can make more addiction on gambling. People feel depressed when they are lonely they have no one to talk no one to share their feelings etc. if you are a gambler and you feel loneliness and you don't have anyone to share your feelings you spend a lot of time on your gambling. Because of you want to move on from your loneliness you spend a lot of time for doing gambling. That helps you to move on from loneliness but giving extra time for move on from loneliness that's creates a huge addiction on gambling.

Gambling addiction is a bad habit. If you feel lonely then don't do over gamble for move on loneliness makes friends talk with your family members do limitation gambling and enjoy with your money to move on from loneliness.

Yes, this is indeed prone to happen, if they have already gambled when they are alone or lonely, they can just do gambling because I think that even in gambling there is pleasure that they will feel even though the great number of them lose, but this way of thinking has become common for gamblers because they have no other choice, sometimes when there are other choices they are lazy to do so they choose to take this (gambling).

It's true what you said. Maybe when they are lonely they should look for other things, such as talking with friends or family, but in my opinion, even talking with friends is also prone to gambling because many people are currently gambling so that the discussion of gambling has become a common thing that everyone usually talks about, so the point is to have good self-control, so that you can divert the feeling of wanting to gamble with other things.
It is true that there is no real reason why gambling becomes addictive to relieve loneliness. It will generally depend on the individual's own will and if a person can control himself he will never become addicted to gambling and will look for alternative ways to relieve loneliness. Loneliness can be overcome even if you don't get a chance to focus on yourself many times. So it is important to pay attention to yourself you can keep your mind healthy by exercising regularly and following a healthy diet. Lazy brain also causes loneliness. Always stay engaged in activities of interest.

With a lazy brain it can indeed make them interested in gambling, and with the current boom in online gambling which makes it easier for them to access gambling using the gadgets they have. By diverting the desire to gamble, maybe they can do what you said or hang out with their friends which will allow them to eliminate the desire to gamble. But because currently there is a lot of online gambling so that it can be done by anyone, including their friends, they will definitely recognize gambling. So sometimes even chatting with friends can actually increase the desire to gamble, because most likely they will also know about gambling that is currently busy in all circles.

Loneliness is a very bad experience especially to people who weren't raised in isolated environments. And in a bid to keep themselves busy, lonely people do engage in several things which gambling is also part of.
But the better people who are lonely come to terms that gambling isn't a good engagement for them to get busy whenever they're lonely the better for them. Engaging in gambling when one is feeling lonely will definitely make the person to become addicted to gambling because he'll always gamble even when he's winning or losing

Gambling was analysed of the game had more possibilities of getting addicted whether man or women was not consider in this way of gambling. The gambler should ready to spend the time for the gambling,So the gambler will return with the profit to the gambler. The greater chance for the gambler,Once he is ready to spend time for the strategy building for the game. The game like poker need of the technical skills, this only make you to win more matches based on the technical skill in the gambling. The loneliness allow you have more time and that time can be used on the gambling by the gambler to build their own empire.
And with that loneliness, he will use it to learn poker playing techniques that can improve his ability to play poker. This is the same as making his loneliness even more lonely because he only thinks about himself to achieve high skill in playing poker. This is actually good because he can focus on practicing the game of poker to have high skills but the problem is, he won't think about other things because, for him, it's not important. He will only get deeper into his training until he achieves mastery of playing poker. If he plays poker more often, he will become more addicted to gambling because by practicing his skills in real poker games, he will definitely meet pro poker players. If he loses, he will definitely be determined to learn more so he can beat many poker pros and become a legend.

You are completely right, though i understand that most gamblers, if not all gamblers, don't usually know when they become addicted to gambling, but this does not change the fact that becoming addicted to gambling is as a result of the actions of the gambler, one thing that is very certain is that, addiction don't just fall on people, no one slept in the night, woke up the next day with gambling addiction, so, our actions of in-actions is what leads many of us into becoming addicted to gambling, and not just gambling, but any other activity that one can possibly get addicted to.

So, to avoid gambling addiction, like i did mention or say in my previous comment on another thread before this one, it is very important to take out time to engage ourselves in other activities that is outside gambling, for someone who is lonely, spending too much time gambling is one of the fastest way to gambling addiction, and besides, being lonely is a choice, one cannot be lonely if he or she decides not to be, it takes a very little effort to step out and look for someone to take to, start a good conversation with, rather than lock oneself in a room and gamble all day.
Becoming addicted to gambling starts from what we do continuously, and we rarely stop these activities to rest. This activity will become the most important in his life so he finds it difficult to stop gambling even though it is to refresh himself after gambling for a while. If he could balance everything, he would not become addicted to gambling and in fact, he would not only focus on gambling to fill his free time. Still, he would do other things because he knows that being in one activity, such as gambling for a long time without a break, can cause him to become addicted to gambling. He didn't want that to happen so he tried to time it.

For lonely people, they are really looking for activities that can fill their time so that they are not alone. People who are alone without anything to do can become frustrated because they are confused about what to do. Maybe this requires attention from his family, who can encourage him to do something so that they can use their time well and won't feel lonely. As much as possible, they should not approach gambling because that can make them feel comfortable gambling and they will eventually forget that they need other activities that can make them avoid gambling. If he remains gambling, he may develop a gambling addiction that he will not even be able to realize.

If you ever feel lonely and you have money on you, there are other things you can do to kill time, grab yourself a Nintendo console and have fun with some captivating story telling games like Zelda or Fire Emblem, you will be in good mood in a very short period of time playing these games, you aren't also losing any money too.

Yes, that's right because if someone doesn't have any activities and there are no people close to him, he will try to find activities that can make him feel comfortable. If he then finds gambling that makes him comfortable in spending time, he will probably spend more time gambling than doing other more useful things.

He will have a greater chance of becoming addicted to gambling, especially if he gambles almost every day. If you feel lonely, you can ask someone to accompany you to pass the time and you can also do something different every day so you won't feel bored. Actually, many things can be done, but it depends on a person's intentions and how he uses his time.

He just wants to forget the hurt and his gambling session fulfills that, we all know that dopamine is associated with gambling, and by playing, he forgets his wife, and the hurt is replaced by the excitement of playing, it is a replacement and unfortunately, it's a bad replacement that will lead to addiction.
When you are hurt, sad, and depressed, you barely care about the positive or negative consequences of something that you are doing as long as it helps you heal your depression for at least some time, whether it's gambling, smoking, drinking, or whatever else that you start doing when you are lonely and depressed. It's only later that you might realize that you've got yourself into another problem by trying to get out of one problem and there was nothing you could do about that.

So, we can't blame a depressed person for getting addicted to gambling or anything else that might be harmful to them in the long run because they surely have started doing that thing so that they can escape the loneliness and depression that have taken their mind with a storm and made everything dark.

We can see it from various points of view, even providing various assumptions and arguments. but basically, we don't know the facts that actually happened. So far, we have only concluded from the posts presented in this thread. Talking about loneliness, basically humans are social creatures. then everyone will always look for ways to avoid feeling lonely, I mean based on the contents of this thread.
As living and thinking creatures, we will look for various ways to be free from loneliness itself. Moreover, in this case, loneliness occurs due to an incident or case in the household. This man was concluded to fill his loneliness by gambling, which in the end he suffered a lot of losses. In the end, he became a gambling addict. So is loneliness the main factor in this case, I don't think so at all. because, the man can do many activities that he can do and not just for gambling.

The point is, "Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling" maybe yes, maybe not. because this depends on how a person responds and resolves the problems that befall him.
referring to what you said, I agree with the first point. In fact, many such cases occur in the wider community. However, again a person will go through phases in times of difficulty.
for the second point, the problem of addiction lies within ourselves. and in fact, we cannot judge it. In fact, I have been in that position. then what is the point, there is no other word other than being a responsible gambler. The method?  It depends on how we understand and how we respond to gambling itself. for me, it's that simple.
This is a fundamental human experience. Social creatures crave connections. The game alters when loneliness strikes. It alters our thoughts and actions. And gambling? A fast fix, a false friend. The realm of online gambling is vast. Right at your fingertips. It welcomes you when you're lonely and down. A mirage, nevertheless. It promises excitement and connection but delivers nothing. The cycle is harmful. You win, you feel fantastic. Losers chase losses. It spirals downward

The addiction is crucial. It's not simply gambling. What's driving it. Why are you lonely? Is it disconnected? No purpose? Addressing that is necessary. Gambling is a symptom of something bigger. Does loneliness cause gambling addiction? Definitely a factor. Not the complete story. How you face loneliness matters. Finding true connections and purpose. That's difficult. That's travel. Also, internet gambling? Distractions and roadblocks on that journey. Recognize, comprehend, and overcome. That's the real victory

Well, loneliness is hard when the Person Intends it to be hard , because a person in solitude I think has to have a different attitude, because he is alone and has to be happy in some way, if a person is alone and Wants to die Well, he will die, Worse than that is what they Really want, but if it is a person who wants to get ahead with everything, then he will get ahead, and the game, in casinos, in real bets is not bad, it is a way to wake up and have a different means of Entertainment to get out of what you are Experiencing, you can do it, what happens is that you can do it but in a very moderate way, this so that you do not suffer disastrous consequences, because there are also other types of activities that can be stronger and do more than be stuck in a hole, I have my friend, his wife left him and at first he was very bad, he got depression and everything, with 23 years of marriage, children, and the wife didn't care It was important to leave him, I wanted him to be Calm, to pray, that she would Surely come back.

After 4 Months had passed, she came back, but he worried me, because he told me that his chest hurt a lot, he felt like his chest was opening up, that he wanted to die, and well, it's hard when you have a bad friend. I told him that he was going to look for another woman, he didn't want another woman, finally some friends over there told him that a very pretty friend liked him and he was getting on with the girl, and his wife is now doing it. search, now he tells me that he no longer loves his wife very much, nor the girl, but that he is Happy to have gotten rid of that pain , so the depression and everything that loneliness can cause he does not remove or do that gets addicted to the casino, the casino and all other means of entertainment and devicersion should be taken as that: "Fun" because otherwise a person gets carried away and dies Unnecessarily.

It's how one handles solitude, not just being alone. Your friend's experience shows that emotional resilience is vital. Response to solitude is the problem, not solitude itself. Solitude leads to entertainment gambling, a slippery slope. Its distracting, but is it helpful? Hardly. Gambling, while fun, should be added enjoyment.

Your friend's recovery from pain, depression, and recuperation shows human spirit's resilience. But consider: Is hopping from extreme to extreme healthy? From deep depression to casino escapades, isnt there a middle ground? Great that he's found relief, but at what cost? Finding lasting fulfillment and joy requires moderation. Would volunteering, reconnecting with friends, or exploring hobbies be healthier? These alternatives offer entertainment without the risk of addiction or financial loss of casinos.
