It good sometimes to reminisce because we compared the value of the bitcoin now and before. The value in the picture is very low than now and I think that price happened last few years ago before the bull in 2017 what more for the last 1 decade the value only is 1 digit and people who knew and believe and held the bitcoin got more profit because they pruchased only very cheap value for the each bitcoin.

For $651~ you could of got yourself a shiny whole bitcoin on coinbase plus their $6.66 fee.
I wouldnt of mind paying this fee on top regardless.
Even if they were asking 10% of the purchase amount at the time which is probably more by now. Wink

That is history and that time will not come back. If anyone knew the potential of bitcoin, they would have bought all at such cheap price.

After 5 years from now, you might again be showing a photo where we see bitcoin at 11,000$ and we all would be wishing we could have accumulated bitcoin at such low prices.

These kinds of posts actually puts my mind at a stress so as how we missed the opportunity to gain a lot of money ,who knows we could have been billionaires till now.

All I learned from this is :-

*One should take risks , because they may or may not be worth it and if it is worth it then your are a millionaire *
(Only for Bitcoins )

People who brought pizza with million dollar worth Bitcoins are famous today and ones who held onto that are billionaires.

I stand with Ukraine.
~maybe in a several years time we post screenshots with 10.000$ per coin buys and comment - imagine that you could have bought bitcoin this cheap and easily:D

This is what most likely will happen in several years. The vast majority of people, over 99% of the world population, have never used a satoshi yet, but it's obvious that a big part of them will be using crypto, and Bitcoin in particular, in the upcoming years. The higher demand will inevitably kick the prices up, and today's price will be seen as $651 for 1 BTC today.

I'm a gambler and it used to be a normal practice to rain for players in chat after a win
I myself, got a 1 bitcoin tip once ( yes ONE whole bitcoin) when it was 100$ and 0.01-0.1 countless times
a minimum tip was 50.000 satoshi and they were flying left right and center ~

I remember those days too, I even remember you in PD chat back then. )

Indeed it wasn't unusual to see 0.01-0.1 tips, and I remember getting 0.015 tip from a guy who registered that very day, deposited 1 Bitcoin, made just one bet, all-in with 50% win chance, won 1 BTC, and tipped around 0.2 out of it. Good Ol' Days. )

Those who are really lucky have bought BTC with this price in previous years. It is also a reward for those who approach this new industry.
Those who go ahead always get their own reward.
Some people have bought ETH with ICO price and now all of them have become millionaires.
So, always have positive belief in BTC, you will be rich soon in a few years. Grin
Many people did not still believe the impact of bitcoin and some are still waiting for when bitcoin will be buried but those that have faith on it are really making money and buying at this current price is not bad if you understand were bitcoin is heading to. It will happen that in the next ten years to come people will be saying that "did you know that 5 years or 10 years ago bitcoin was around $11,000" maybe by then bitcoin will be trading above $500,000!

I know that FOMO is a term, but has anyone made one for that pang of having already missed out?  Grin

The only consolation is that btc having hit $20k once, could hit for much higher and that the current "bullish" $11k is still low when you consider that.

Someone else on the forum said a great phrase that is appropriate here... "you just need a piece of the trend".

Nice quote. We really just need to get our feet wet sometimes.

What about 4 years ago when you could get it for $220?

I remember thinking it was overpriced then and was just going to remain stable or sink. Naive little me, I also had a coinbase account but wasn't able to KYC yet so I was stuck watching the price rally up...

If I'd have bought 10 btc and sold when I did in the spike in 2017, I'd have $140,000 now... But then again, I might have sold when we got up to $280...

There are always what if's and shoulda coulda woulda. I also wish I spent my inheritance on btc and then sold later. The thing is, I say this but then I don't know when I would have spend or sole those bitcoin. Maybe I sold them early to get the money back plus a small profit and then later on I would have bought a few bitcoins but who knows how often I would sell them off. I guess I would probably have kept them. I try not to beat myself up though. We all make mistakes, we just must learn from them.

When I joined the crypto community, the price of 1 bitcoin was around $250 only. I can still see the past transaction of my old wallets. I remember spending most of my coins for buying amazon gift cards and other stuffs online. The transaction made to buy that $10 gift is now around $600 USD. I know its funny but I don't regret spending my bitcoins  Wink.

I have several things I'm ashamed of buying but at least it makes for a good story in the future. There will reach a price level where I don't regret spending the BTC I hold at all, I'm not sure what that level is but we're definitely not there yet.

I can still remember selling one whole bitcoin on similar price @700$ but don't know the exact date, still I can remember the guy who was buying bitcoin for first time and can still remember the place where we made that cash on hand deal  Grin

Haven't followed him or made any contact after that so don't know what he have done with that bitcoin.

I sold 2 BTC  @ $506  then sold 12 BTC @ $2000,  if only I knew that BTC would reach 10x than that, I would have waited.  But we do not know the future so no regret on my part.
It is indeed the sad part where you do sell off your holdings into cheaper prices but no one can really predict the future and for sure lots of
people who did the same mistake but  somehow we are still standing inspite of our mistakes and we do eventually learn.

However, finance doesn't work like that, you can't look at what you have missed all the time because looking at the last 10 years, if you had gold you would have profit, if you had stocks many of them would profit you, if you traded on forex many would have profited you, there are so many things that would have profited you like crazy and you just can't get stuck on them, maybe not as much as bitcoin but they would have all made your life better.

You need to keep focusing on the future, you have seen what you could have done in the last 10 years, don't make it ruin your next 10 years.

100% agreed.  If we keep regreting or reminiscing times and keep thinking "if only .. b", we won't be living in peace.  Those things that we missed will only give us despair.
We do need to move on and continue and you are right, keep remembering those mistakes will just really be a burden with our crypto journey.

By this logic, you could have bought more 10 years ago when it first started out, you could have gotten bitcoin for cents and now it worth over 11 thousand. That is a return of god knows how much and nothing has ever given the same return in the last decade so we can call bitcoin the best ROI ever in the last 10 years.

My highest sold bitcoin amount is like .5 BTC +.
It was already at four digits but if I could get it back then I will.  Grin

It is funny to go back to the history of your transaction and look back into what if I didnt sell.
Just looking at the total amount of bitcoin that I had before makes me feel guilty of why the hell I didnt had faith with bitcoin before.
Thankfully, now I do have faith and never sold large amount just so to profit.
Still waiting for that big pump and if innovation will come, I may not sell it anymore.

I remember that moment when bitfinex was hacked in August 2016 and quite a lot of Bitcoin was stolen.  This was a shock for the entire cryptocurrency market, which caused Bitcoin to fall as low as $ 500 or $ 300.  Many then doubted the future prospects of Bitcoin, but nonetheless still lucky for those who are not afraid to invest their money at those low prices.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
Well, I still remember those days bitcoin price is very cheap in the market and my uncle has introduced that bitcoin to me that it is profitable if I am going to invest. But instead, I did not follow him because I think it is another way of scam business. Indeed, now I realized that I was mistaken, if I listen to him it might I also have a huge profit like him and that was a regrettable moment. Well, maybe 5 years from this year Bitcoin will triple again the price. Indeed, I prefer to invest and I did that last year 2018 when bitcoin was around $300k + in the market.

Even I have experienced and bought bitcoin at a price of $200, bitcoin users who have joined since 2013 certainly have experienced it, Smiley Experience up and down prices to almost touch $100. unfortunately many of us don't save it for the long term Sad

Many of us here have BTC before that price. And you know what, it was the time after a big drop when price touched $1,200 for the first time and started going down. Do you know how many people cried after that drop, and cursed BTC, how many topics about BTC going to zero? And what happened? People who waited long enough are rewarded, people who sold at that time regret now. This should be a reminder for all the people who still doubt in BTC!
