I hope that this won't go to the judges verdict and GGG will knock out cold Alvarez. This fight would be just a formality to announced that GGG was the winner of the first fight.

I haven't watched the entire 1st fight or paid much attention to either of their careers.

Offhand I have GGG. I don't think Canelo can match GGG's pace. Whatever happens, GGG should throw a significantly higher volume of punches in comparison to what Canelo can match with his limited cardio. Punch stat numbers alone should put Canelo at a distinct disadvantage.

Canelo doesn't appear to have power in his punches enough to turn the tide of the fight. We saw this in Canelo's fight with Julio Chavez Jr. Canelo landed many clean punches without hurting Chavez Jr. The same might be said of GGG. Over, decision or the fight going the distance could be worthwhile props to play. Although like I said I haven't paid much attention to either guy.

If Canelo is using steroids, his cardio could suffer for it over the long term as PED's are often known to damage the body's organs in a way which reduces cardio capacity. This can be seen in the unfortunate history of many WWE/WWF pro wrestlers who suffer premature heart failures from steroids damaging their heart and cardiovascular systems.

Adelaide Byrd and the judging panel may be the last major factor determining how events will play out. Manny Pacquiao and many others have been mis-scored in Vegas before in poor judging decisions. GGG being denied victory in the 1st fight sadly isn't the lone exception.

UFC allowed its own reputation to be tarnished, by allowing Adalaide Byrd to return as a judge. Her scoring during UFC 222 was even worse. Just confirms my feeling that UFC doesn't care about the fans at all. How can they allow someone so biased to be a judge?

1.  UFC is not BOXING      ROFL

2. The UFC, or other organizations do not decide who the judges are, the Athletic Commission

Here is an artilce to shine some light on boxing judges

Regarding MMA and the UFC , they had to conform to the same scoring system as boxing in order for Athletic Commissions to give them licenses.
There are some new rules that the UFC has created that some Athletic Commissions have approved , this allows for more 10-8 rounds and I think
that is good.

@Jannn - its Adalaide Byrd, the judge who score a whooping 118-110 in favor of Canelo. She made a lot of controversial scoring not just in boxing but UFC as well.

If Golovkin will still be able to take the haymakers and power punches of Canelo Alvarez while also giving some solid punches of his own I think GGG will now win this time. The problem I see here is Alvarez' punches might be more powerful this time and GGG's chin might not take it anymore as he almost got knowdown during tge first fight. Gennady Golovkin really needs to win this fight as settling for a tie won't identify who is the best in their division.

@Vishnu.Reang - I say the rematch will be just as the same as the first one, so I don't see any KO happening, although its good to see GGG battered Canelo to a UD.

@krach - we might see some odds change/switch as we get closer to the fight date.

I know that Golovkin is already 36 years old, but I have a feeling that he is going to win this match by KO versus Canelo Alvarez. A lot of experts, including Lennox Lewis and Terence Crawford are predicting a GGG victory as well.

Many of the previous matches between Canelo vs Golovkin judged that Golovkin deserved to win the match, but the judge's decision was a legitimate match, after the match, Canelo had not had the chance to go back to the ring after receiving a ban, Canelo had the chance to win points from Golovkin because he would play smarter for 12 rounds compared to Golovkin, he didn't change much

Personally I'm going to have to say GGG has got this one easily. Last time he was completely robbed by Amber Byrd or whatever her name was, who somehow scored Canelo massively in the lead (blind, paid-off or heavily biased?) GGG is just a beast, so is Canelo but I really don't think Golovkin will let it go to a decision again.

I still got GGG. The first one was closed but every boxing fans knows that GGG was the winner. Canelo started slow and GGG was the aggressor and he closed the ring and Canelo doesn't have the answer specially when he was corned. He made a rally in the championship round but for me its not enough to overcome the lead of GGG. So I don't know how (judge) Byrd scored the fight 10 of the 12 round 118-110 edge for Canelo. Plus there's controversy of banned substance, and alvarez blamed on the tainted meat he eat in Mexico. LOL. Anyways, I will beat for GGG again, gonna be the same, UD or SD.
