So wait. Cann donates the Canndy to the distributor for free who in turn trades 1 gram of free weed for 1 $Cann?

Seems legit.

Or the dispensary itself donates the medication into the CANNdy inventory.

For the last few months the Herbal Wellness Center dispensary has been getting about 0.5¢ (1 CANN) "handling fee" - don't expect they are getting rich off that, eh? And that's not including the cost of any product they themselves are donating.

I've gotta be honest. I don't get it. So the dispensary donates weed (not Canndy), to CANN? Which then CANN donates back to distributors (Canndy or otherwise) to trade in for $CANN?

Serious question regarding 1 $CANN being pegged to 1 gram of Canndy:

The above is in affect for people carrying medicinal mj perscriptions and only during "Yes we Cann" events.

Is this correct?

At sole discretion of the particpating dispensary or retailer / shop including event vendor or the general public.
Medicine provided by cannabis growers / cultivators to dispensaries or shops for the "Yes we CANN" movement will be for the 1:1 peg.

Ah ok. So... just so I'm 100% clear perhaps you'll indulge me in breaking this down:

- Q: What exactly constitutes a "Yes we CANN" event?

- "Any participating merchant is allowed to participate."
Q: Does the merchant simply purchase $CANN and exchange each $CANN for 1 gram of Canndy?
When?
How?
Obviously before they can sell it for 1 $CANN to their own clients, but I'm just curious as to the logistics.

Thanks.

Actually you have it wrong - it is not just during specified events at all. With the obvious limitations of stock availability it is an everyday thing.

And no, the CANNdy is donated, either by growers or the dispensary itself. See the OP:

Quote
This movement is a way for dispensaries and shop owners to show their appreciation to their patients by donating some medication into the “CANNdy” inventory.

One of the grow sites is the CANNLab, where strains of CANNdy are under development.

Quote
The Cannabis Coin represents REAL medical marijuana specifically designed and grown by “CannabisCoin Marijuana Cultivators“.

Mmj patients exchange CANN for CANNdy, dispensaries do not purchase CANNdy with it. As it becomes a more valuable medium of exchange that situation could change for general purposes but as far as I know the intent is always for participating cultivators to donate purpose-grown CANNdy.

Quote
CANNdy is a supply of meds that consists of strains grown specifically for CannabisCoin purchases and/or strains that can be purchased at the rate of 1 Cannabis Coin (CANN) to approx. 1 GRAM of medication.

This of course does not interfere with the use of CannabisCoin for general purchases, which are made at the current exchange rate, not the equivalent of the peg.

TL;DR

No, it isn't event-specific and no - dispensaries do not purchase CANNdy, either growers or the dispensary itself donates it.

Can't be bothered to read the OP, that's why I asked you. Tongue

Well, what good is a cryptocurrency unless you have applications and platforms to use.  An android wallet and a QT is not good enough.

Easy answer to this nonsense Chuckles: THIS crypto currency, unlike so many others, does exactly what it set out to do - facilitate getting mmj to patients. It requires exactly zero further core development to do what it does and what it set out to do.

Beyond which, CannabisCoin already has esotericizm to code any required changes at any time, why waste funds importing someone else to do "something" which is not required? That would simply be foolish.

"Development" to no good purpose is an absurd distraction that has already killed lots of hopeful coins that had no focus.

About the only thing CannabisCoin needs for now is a crowd chant around the stadium:

Canndy! Canndy! Canndy!
YES WE CANN!

Canndy! Canndy! Canndy!
YES WE CANN!

Canndy! Canndy! Canndy!
YES WE CANN!

Don't lose focus, the crops are coming.

Actually, an Android wallet is good enough to be accepted at The 420 Alliance Joint Force store.

Crypto X is starting soon (~3 weeks or less):
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annpre-launchicodao-the-420-alliance-joint-force-store-967364

Hopefully this can lead to more "DAOs" being set up to support CANN while also creating jobs!

Many coins have android wallets now. Staking too. Wouldn't be that big of a deal to pull off. But ask yourself if you really want a staking android wallet. Consider your data costs vs. a few $Cann at current price.

Hmm... yes... hype, hype, hype.  Pump, pump, pump... yes we cann...  because who really cares about technical innovation anyways?!?

Well, so far I've made .15 BTC trading this coin in the last 24 hours.  Thanks to the whales that are running this market, it's pretty easy to scam their bots out of BTC.

I think some more technical develoments would be good , like a cann - fiat exchange , mobile wallet etc.

Would also love to hear if D9 is talking to other dispensary owners (like the one from a couple of pages back) and when the first harvest will be done.

Fiat exchanges are the domain of financial services companies and banks, not coin "technical developments" and there's already the Android mobile wallet - done all done. If you've done any development at all you'll know Apple is a pain in the butt about what can and can't be in the Apple Store and the chance of getting a marijuana purchase app distributed while it is Federally illegal is about as close to zero as you'll get. Look at the hoops Leafly had to jump through just for an info app. Do any of you really believe ∆9 would not commission one in a flash if it were a viable proposition?

If you've followed CannabisCoin for any length of time you'll know commercial activities are not publicized in advance. You'll also know ∆9 spends a lot of time traveling and talking to dispensaries and growers. Can you imagine him not talking to a dispensary owner attempting to make contact?

Come on guys, think.

He could use telepathy. Or carrier pigeons. Yah!  Shocked

And then there's the "why would you anyway?" given that apple toys are relatively expensive and less likely to be the mobiles of choice for mmj patients struggling to afford their meds.

interesting presentation on the potential of cannabis..

"In this article, Mike Zappy transcribes the contents of a talk on cannabis and how it's going to change 'life as we know it' that he had intended to deliver at a Tedx event in Boca Raton. The text was approved by the organizers and Zappy was scheduled into the event but a few days later he received an email from the same organizers cancelling his talk. They said that 'Boca Raton was not ready for a talk about cannabis'.

Zappy wants to take a stand against what he believes is the hypocrisy of Tedx, an event that is supposed to break barriers, and is publishing his talk in full here."

Why some here really want to Cann was traded on a new exchange. There probably will not be an adequate amount on DRK, not to mention Cann. I think this is no good coin will not bring in General and even the hype about it costs almost nothing. Look on Cryptsy for example, there is interest in the coin is considerably less than Bittrex selling there just follow Bittrex. The coin needs to develop and be strong in the framework of the major exchanges, is the key to success. Separation of financial flows on different exchanges damage is increasing the price if you want. Too bad that Mintpal out of order, the trust of a number of large investors left with him, and there would be very good to trade.

Money often costs too much.
Who is the imbecile that is pumping fake volume at bittrex, LOL this guy is so stupid because he is burning his BTC with bittrex fees.

The only thing that this guy got until now with that stupid thing is to make bittrex´s owner richer.

Bill Shihara, Rami Kawach, Richie Lai, Ryan Hentz are thanks giving for you.  Grin
That could be the shortlist of people involved here. You know it isn't fees if you pay them to yourself.

I can even name them 4 peeps.

Price doubled in 2 weeks.  That's not a failure, that's a success at dramatically raising market capitalization.  With 4/20 right around the corner, things have never looked better.

Roadmap to success:

1) Publicly advertise and Hire competent Bitcoin/crypto core developer using funds from 5,000,000+ CANN premine to bring in core dev

2) 4/20 Event at Herbal Wellness - even if just for Bitcoin and CANN education

3) Bounties, bounties, bounties.  Using some of 5,000,000+ premine, offer development bounties for iOS wallet, new faucet, and more.

Meh...

The coin is rock solid, which is all it needs to be to serve its function of facilitating getting medical marijuana to patients at a reasonable price. It will get a major boost if (when) Arizona goes recreational. Even more so if it spreads to out-of-state dispensaries.

Faucet? Who cares? I don't think they do anything for coins anymore. iOS wallet, nice for people with iphones I guess but I don't know what proportion of mmj patients that would involve, I suspect not large.

A decision will have to be made sooner or later about subsidy. Whether that involves switching to multi-algo, merged mining or simply staking I do not know or particularly care, as long as it keeps the block chain moving reliably.

What will be really great is a means to directly exchange fiat for CANN, preferably at least with debit card access. Whether that is what's in mind for mjpay or some other gateway it is a key component to making all this work conveniently and well.

As it is CannabisCoin has the ability to be transferred and stored, what else does it need? So, to my way of thinking at least, no coin development beyond an adjustment to subsidy is needed, wanted or even vaguely desirable.

Sorry to seem disagreeable but I just don't see "development" for novelty's sake having any value whatsoever.

Well, what good is a cryptocurrency unless you have applications and platforms to use.  An android wallet and a QT is not good enough.

Scratch the faucet... but at least be willing to use the pre-mine for bounties and development.

I'll reiterate these points to break through the sound-barrier on this forum:

Quote
Is there any development of the CANN core?  Updates to latest Bitcoin codebase, or any additional development going on?  I'm not talking about Cannabis growing - I am talking about technical development of codebase/applications.

I agree, price must rise ... or value must rise.  Now is the time for big promotion by developer... use the 5,000,000+ remaining premine to hire a core developer. https://github.com/cannabiscoindev/cannabiscoin420
