I've held ADA in a Yoroi wallet for quite sometime. If I upgrade my wallet and decide to stake it, how long do coins stay staked? Is there a minimum time frame? What if ada hit $1 and I wanted to unstake half to sell it? Could I do that?

No, you cannot download blocks manually. Moreover, have a look at the following posts of mine, especially the last sentence of the last quoted post:

Are you talking about incentivized testnet Daedalus OR the main Daedalus? Moreover, are you talking about the "syncing" or "connecting to network" status? Because in the case of syncing, it doesn't take much time (depending on your internet speed). However, if you're stuck at network connection, then try restarting the application. If that doesn't help, just move to Yoroi till IOHK makes Daedalus rock-solid.
What kind of software is Deadlus ? Is it open source ? Can maker reach to private key of software ? it connect to which servers ? and why doesnt make Electrum version for cardano
Daedalus is a desktop-based application, and it's completely open-source: https://github.com/input-output-hk/daedalus
It's created by IOHK, and they've no access to your private keys or master keys. All of the keys are completely stored offline in your own system storage.
It's a heavyweight wallet as it works as a full node (and needs to have 100% Cardano blockchain synced), if you require a light-weight wallet, go for Yoroi (mobile/browser).

Don't worry about the price of ADA because in the last bull the price of ADA was above the 1$ with less active developments during that time, now ADA has matured a lot with a lot of developments, so in the next bull run, we might see higher value compared to its previous value.
I am worried that the price will go higher and I didn't bought as much as I wanted.
You are right about Cardano development and maturity and am confident that ADA will go above $1 again, yes, there is no doubt.
Even myself thinking which the ADA price will surely increase more than 1$, so it is good to grab at the current situation of the ADA price. I am also very much interested in the ADA project, which we are seeing active developments and it will surely help this coin o increase it's the price.
