Ethereum got the benefit of widely used solidity and EVM so people are well versed with developing contracts in ethereum and in turn there are many influx of new dapps.
with cardano, it's like starting everything from scratch again learning all those new languages such as Opshin, etc. nobody got time for that.
so I suppose if cardano want to have as many dapps as ethereum they should support solidity language.

What about Solana? It started from scratch and now it's one of the most popular coins on the market. There's a lot of buzz surrounding SOL and its tokens (particularly "meme" tokens). If Solana did it, so can Cardano. ADA's problem is not the tech, but rather its slow and steady approach regarding development and innovation. A lack of a strong marketing strategy has left Cardano under the scope of mainstream investors and traders alike. Charles Hoskinson and his team need to hype their project a little bit more, don't you think?

Comparing both ETH and ADA, I think the latter is a far better choice for those looking into decentralization. ETH turned centralized a long time ago. It may have first-mover advantage on the market, but it's not as good as it used to be in the early days. Vitalik and team got greedy, and now they don't care about fixing centralization issues. As long as VCs, and institutional investors are happy, nothing else matters. Hopefully, Cardano stays a community-oriented project (decentralized) forever.

Well for me I do hodl both of these tokens in my portfolio. But there is something for me that is better to have more eth then cardano.
We have dapps and reasons to use the eth blockchain. We can not say this right now about cardano. I do invest in cardano because I think it will see big gains.
And now there is a new cardano update. And investors think it will make the coin be 'bullish'.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up!
I too think that ETH has more priority simply due to it being №2 after BTC, but each has its uses.
And it's completely fine with me.

Do you think Cardano will replace Ethereum?

Personally, I think that both blockchains will develop in different directions in the future.
Both blockchains would therefore be relevant and coexist.

I personally think of something like this:
Ethereum = DeFi
Cardano = dApp

I also thought of something like this:
Ethereum = NFT & Gaming
Cardano = dApp & DeFi

In my opinion, Cardano will not be able to replace Ethereum as the top Altcoin and the best Altcoin in cryptocurrency history. and Ethereum continues to show excellent development from year to year, making it increasingly popular with various groups. compared to cardano I'm sure everyone chooses ethereum and ethereum is irreplaceable by any altcoin.

No, Cardano will never be able to catch up to Ethereum because there are several factors that make Ethereum superior in terms of adoption and blockchain technology development. One of them is the established network and large community supporting it. Additionally, Ethereum has a very strong ecosystem, with many applications and projects built on top of it. Although Cardano offers advanced technology, it still needs time and significant effort to compete with Ethereum's position.

But, I have both  Grin

Well I do think we are going to see some 'bullish' signs next week for Cardano. The hard fork called Change will launch next week.
And we will see co-founder Charles Hoskinson and some others step down from his leadership roles.
https://ambcrypto.com/cardano-chang-hard-fork-launches-next-week-here-are-the-upcoming-changes/

See? That's what I'm talking about. Cardano often strives to be as decentralized as possible. Not like overhyped chains such as Ethereum or Solana. The former may have been the first smart contracts plaform ever created, but with PoS and Vitalik behind it, the project won't be going anywhere. It will turn more centralized over time.

The day Vitalik announces his departure from Ethereum, will be the day when decentralization will reign victorious. ETH needs to be just like Bitcoin without a leader. Unfortunately, money (particularly from big investors) has led Ethereum to the point where it is right now. Cardano will never surpass Ethereum in terms of market cap, but it will always be there for those who need it the most. ADA will be the "backup chain" in case all else fails. At least, there's healthy competition in the crypto space. Cheesy

Ethereum is currently the second most popular cryptocurrency coin. Basically we consider Ethereum to be second only to Bitcoin in terms of popularity. So if you compare Ethereum with other coins, Ethereum will definitely be ahead. But the coin you compared with Ethereum is definitely in a good position at the moment and has the potential to touch a good value in the future. Cardano is one of the few coins that have gained popularity in the market.

I don't think, any altcoins will going to replace Ethereum in the market, because it has been long Ethereum has be maintaining first position among the altcoins and if you look at the position Cardano is in the market and the population around the cardano, you will agree with me that cardano will not take the place of Ethereum in the market. You can see that many investors prefer to invest in Ethereum than any other altcoins, because they came to discovered that when the bullish season is on in the market, Ethereum will pump higher than any other altcoins in the market. Just ignore what people are saying about Cardano, that it will take the place of Ethereum, I don't think such dream will come to pass in the future because the team behind Ethereum doesn't look like a weak team that will give up easily for other altcoins to over take.

The thing is Cardano isn't as heavily-marketed as Ethereum is. It puts its focus on development more than anything else. The "slow and steady" pace is what has kept Cardano under the radar of mainstream investors since its inception. Unless the team promotes the project heavily, don't expect it to go anywhere soon.

Around 90% of the dApps we know and love today are built on the Ethereum blockchain. You can see why it's still the #1 altcoin on the market. It comes next to Bitcoin in terms of mainstream adoption and security/reliability. The only thing that could propel ADA's price to the moon is if the market turns extremely-bullish for a prolonged period of time. Will ADA be able to finally reach $5? Only time will tell. At least, the competition in the crypto/blockchain space is healthy. Cheesy

Cardano is one of the altcoins that has great potential in the future, even though Cardano is currently experiencing a decline, I think Cardano can develop even better in the future, but when compared to ethereum Cardano is still far from good in terms of ratio, popularity, as well as the level of potential growth in the future, I think ethereum is superior, until now there has not been a single altcoin that can match ethereum's achievements other than bitcoin.

why are you asking something when you know there is a different direction between ethereum and cardano. how can they change positions from different directions. so I think both work in their own direction. and nothing can replace ethereum or cardano in cryptocurrency. and I agree that the two will coexist in the future.

Both in price and market capitalization are very different here, considering what ADA and ETH have achieved is very far, so I don't think it's comparable because ADA is far behind ETH, so the development of the project ADA looks more stagnant and there are not many updates or applications built on the ADA network, but ETH has tremendous adoption until today the issuance of the ETH Spot ETF, it's a step too far and seeing that the blue chip of the crypto currency market is Ethereum so I think ADA doesn't even have much opportunity to grow like ETH.

To see whether or not it's profitable probably depends on the market adoption where they will see projects built on both and where they can benefit, and I think ETH has much more potential than ADA even though the price is still cheap.

People will "stick" with the chain that has the most hype. And that chain, is NOT Cardano. It's none other than Ethereum itself. Cardano's development progress is slow as it's focused on security/reliability more than anything else. This leads to less excitement among investors and traders alike. Everyone is looking for the next big thing.

With ETH constantly building and innovating, all of the attention goes into it. We shouldn't expect ADA to reach higher market prices in the timebeing. At least, the chain works as intended. It's much more decentralized and reliable than the overhyped Solana chain (probably even more than Ethereum). Who knows what surprises we'll find in the future?

In my opinion, Cardano is one of the altcoins that has great potential and popularity in the crypto world, but ethereum is an altcoin that is highly prioritized when compared to Cardano, because ethereum is one of the altcoins that can always survive in any condition, if Even if the price declines, it will quickly recover following the development of Bitcoin, and in my opinion that is why Ethereum is better than Cardano.

The Cardano was the good coin,but compared to the Ethereum is not that much potential one.It’s my opinion and it may vary to the person to person.Because the Ethereum had huge number of years surviving in the market and the price of the Ethereum also already reached the value of 3k dollars.The price of the Cardano was not reach upto the 1k dollars.So the more year surviving in the market will increase the demand for the Cardano as like the Ethereum in the cryptocurrency market.

I think Cardano and ethereum both have very good potential in the future, but Cardano's achievements are very far from ethereum, because ethereum is the best and is a very priority investment compared to Cardano,

Not that it will catch there neither, ADA has 15 billion marketcap whereas ETH has about 420 billion (lol) so I do not think that we are going to see ADA pass there neither. So, only thing we can have right now is the question "which one will make you more money if you invest right now", and in that situation ADA has a chance, doesn't mean it can win, but at the very least there is a possibility of ADA being better investment.

ADA can still increase its market capitalization while ETH already has a very large market capitalization so I think it will be very difficult to make a lot of profit with ETH. ADA has a chance but I think it will be very difficult. These two tokens are very good for investing. ETH has the potential to continue to create profits and it is like Bitcoin for altcoins. ADA has a promising future and has smooth and fast transactions.

We can't really tell for now and Cardano price is still far below comparing to Ethereum. Cardano price $0.4224 and Ethereum is $3,514.29 so this comparison is abnormal because the gap is too much. Before Cardano reach $1, Ethereum might reach $10,000 so this comparison is not fair for Ethereum.
And I a simple way to the question, I will say cardano will never replace Ethereum even in 2 centuries. And I know because you like cardano token and that is why you are comparing these two.
I would guess that what they are talking about is market cap, and not the price of the currency because that would make more sense. Price wise ADA can't reach ETH at all, that would not be possible, and to be fair nobody really expects it to catch neither, but marketcap ranking is another discussion.
