I regret nothing. Maybe should have bought more of them.

Think of the premium you paid for them in USD. That premium EXPLODED!

     Never..I bought 1 silver gilt from Mike directly..the other five 2011 series 1 and 2 in 2013.

These are the first physical incarnation of bitcoin on a coin..to me they are a priceless part of bitcoin history.

They will never be sold but will remain a part of my collection to be passed on to my children.

Thats not true, they are not the first.

Yes they are THE FIRST PHYSICAL INCARNATION OF BITCOIN AS A COIN!

The first incarnation of a physical bitcoin are BITBILLS, as a CARD

The only regret I have about Casascius coins is not buying a truckload of them 6 years ago.   Cheesy

I do not regret buying a truckload of them. They might have been duds and rejects, but they got me through some tough times. I do regret selling most of them though.  Sad

It is always fun bumping into a fellow collector from time to time.

The same can be said about any transaction in which you previously had spent your BTC over having used FIAT.
Lazlo paid 10,000 Bitcoins for a Pizza but at the time that was the going rate. You can’t look back at it with regret.

Agreed.  If we all just sat on the BTC the economy would never have grown.   Best you can do is repurchase BTC after spending it.

I have no resentment when I see my now priced $14,000 Roomba do a half assed job sweeping my floors...  Undecided

Hi Guys,

Do you regret buying Casascius back a few years ago? I bought my Cas MS67 0.1btc for 1.2 btc in 2015 when btc was about $500, but the premiums on these coins have squeezed a lot and rightfully so as many people can not afford the heafty price of BTC now a day, but if I held the 1.2 btc, it'd be worth much more than the 0.1 cas I have now.

What do you think will happen going forward? Do you think the Cas premiums will come back? If so, how?

And now with BTC at 10k, what do you think a coin like mine would even get? like 0.4 btc?

I don't mind to regret , but as you say these prices are perfectly good.
It doesn't really have to decrease in regards of bitcoin price stay with the price. Wait.

If any of you guys feel better, I paid 2.24 BTC for an MS70 dime a year or two ago. Looking at the txid makes me think the same thing, but then again looking at the coin, I know I or my family will be fine eventually once they hit mainstream. Grin

Casascius coins also make you hold your coins if you have weaker hands. Everything about them is amazing when you think about it.

1) Rare
2) Pretty to look at
3) Makes you not impulse spend coins
4) They are offline storage
5) They collect endless shit coins

+1 on number 3.  How many times have you spent btc that later go, wish I still had that bitcoin.  Easy way to not spend and pretty secure at this point.

I have the same regrets in a way like OP but this is also why I bought coins otherwise its easy to try to day trade which Im not good at or sell on the exchange. When they are in the safe its harder to sell IMO and makes you think more.

No. Not in the slightest.

I can't remember what some premiums were, one was bought direct from Mike Caldwell so it was low, but as soon as I got them I put whatever the premium was out of my mind.

They weren't bought to flip and it was obvious that the premiums couldn't hold as the price rose.

The only one I do regret is a Bitcoin Bowl coin that was 0.3 BTC.

Let's see if they're discovered by collectors outside this space in the years to come. It's easy to forget how rare certain ones are.

If properly executed fakes come along then many will be up shit creek though.

If I hadn't bought Casascius coins, I likely would have bought more AsicMiner shares at 5BTC each.
