peeps bad news .. when i ask to djm34 for crowdfunding and dev fee for his miner. he said
neiher one nor the othernow you may start to cry.
Based on the recent increase in hashrate I'm pretty sure he sold to a couple big miners for a lot of BTC. There are two extremely big miners operating on both Suprnova and Coinmine that didn't exist a couple days ago. When he talked about his miner he said 130s so a 4-5x improvement over .3a would yield those sort of results and still be somewhat believable.
Nix only... *yawn* Not sure how some devs are lead to believe that's where the miners are. I'm pretty sure it's the elitists you can find on niche forums. A lot of horn tooting from the vocal minority.
Broken dependencies, compiling that doesn't work properly, completely sharded communities through multiple distributions, everything has to be done through CLI, and it's a PITA to use... Totally sounds like a good candidate for most users. It's actually weird that some people can be lead to believe it's a great idea for mining... They use a all-in-one distribution that's just supposed to 'work', then when something breaks, they have to sit on a forum and wait for a knowledgeable user to ride along and save the day.
It'd actually be neat if devs started tagging their windows and nix binaries so you can see what sort of distribution there is between the two groups. There may be a couple big farms riding on nix, but the majority of users are definitely windows... and there in lies the money as well.
