So you buy at 0.0005 and they don't mine!? Can you get back the equipement?

cloud mining (ALL OF IT) has always been a ponzi.

No equipment, no mining, just promises of forever payouts.

things can't sustain when demand drops and overall price is not rising.

cex.io and many cloud mining companies proove they have the equipement!

correct but it is necessary new equipment+ electricity bill(which is huge) and you need money for that. without profit, no money.
no money? no hardware and no mining Smiley

one thing is sure. the price will FALL a lot in the next days.

The difficulty may go down so the revenue of current miners that are connected will go up.

How big was the clouding mining farm / hash rate?

If my memory is correct, cex.io was running the network/pool that had almost 50% of the entire Bitcoin network, just last year.

I think it was around 10 Ph/s.

Correct me if wrong.

Have they stopped mining?  All I've heard is that they paused mining contracts.   No more payouts, but no fees either.

People still own the Gh/s but are no longer suffering a loss.

Curious to see if they keep mining in the coming days/weeks.

You are correct, but they stated that they had no intention of an attack as this would impede on business and even if I recall allocated some has to other pools.

And what happened to the people who bought the Cloud mining service and their contract is still ON . they will get refunded or something?
Probably nothing will happen, they will pause and resume client mining when difficulty will be even higher ; /. Sounds like scam.

This is bad news for the BTC community.

This is good news because cex.io shares are now valued appropriately. Before this move, anyone buying them was a sucker. Why were people paying 1 mBTC per GH/s for negative income? I don't know, but cex.io has done them a favor because zero is better than a loss.

I suppose we need to wait until they restore it...
If they really suspended because it's unprofitable you'll have to wait until bitcoin gains value and this might never happen.

Some cloud minings closed when bitcoin fell to $350. It wasn't profitable back then so it can't be now.

I cannot remember anyone making profit with cloud so far.

I hate cloud mining.

Thank God. Cloud mining is history.

Here's the news from CEX.IO blog:

http://blog.cex.io/cryptonews/cex-io-temporarily-suspends-cloud-mining-services/

They are blaming the BTC price drop & difficulty increase

"as soon as we get an opportunity to upgrade mining hardware, or come to more efficient terms with energy suppliers, cloud mining process will be automatically resumed". - No date given, do not hold your breath.

This is bad news for the BTC community.

They stopped cloud mining but you still can buy or sell GHS at 0.007? You buy in hope of future profits?

I think that's what some people will do and hold out hope that they get everything back up and running.

Or one of the options cex.io gave is to solo mine existing gh/s so maybe people are buying them up and doing just that
