Most of the gamling sites hire someone to repliy in the questions asked in chat box but most of the people were not professionally gambling related and technical related persons so they can't assist the person in the right way.And as someone said having emojis will be a good addy and will save lot of time to convey what we are coming to say.

Good evening!

Almost every casino or Dice site already have the chat for community to connect.

I'm thinking about creating the chat functionality from scratch in order to provide other companies that don't know how to start with it.
Therefore, I'd be very grateful if your could tell me your opinion on what functionalities the chat in gambling site should have and why?

Why reinventing the wheel when their already exiting templates that can be of greater help to you! But nevertheless you can do a google search to find some good template!

I was trying to find some templates that could help me, but none of my findings were proper for casino. Do you have something worth mentioning?

In my view chat room feature is neccesary and it can be very helpful because the players can be interact to other people during gamble or the players can asking help to the owner of the gambling sites regarding the games or if those players have some issue to solved because usually if we complain our issue through chat room then the owner will fast respond

Not only the owner, or rather the support, is fast to respond when someone is asking for help in chat, but it is often that other players are giving very helpful advices. And to reward those who are helpful to the community, I think something similar to bitcointalk merit system should be implemented in the chat. If a user receives a certain amount of merits, he/she is tipped by rainbot accordingly. Of course such a feature can be vulnerable to abusing, so it should be given a great deal of thought before implementation, but I think with the help of this community it is possible to minimize the risk of cheating the system. I have some ideas on how to make it work, and I'm sure there are a lot of people here who would be more than happy to help in fighting scammers.

I’d highly recommend you add in a tab to use emojis in the chat box of your casino

I will say this is important also because of the international nature to most sites and the audience to build up any kind of communicative spirit, atmosphere or community you have to let people speak in something understandable by both parties.   Not everyone speaks english or has that comfortably recognisable for themselves, in any case its far quicker to post a smiley then sentences

People are far more responsive to a picture or icon then maybe long sentences.    If it was me, I'd say discord is ideal because its so open to post all kinds of screenshots if need be.  Perhaps thats too open for most places and requires alot of moderation.

So thats your focus to give freedom but also some restriction to prevent spam or overuse by just one especially new user

That is a good idea, but I think most of the gambling sites has already the chat in mind even before they launch their sites.
But if you can add some cool features, why not?

It is just a matter of finding your target market and spoil them with the chat features they would love and you are in business Wink

.. what functionalities the chat in gambling site should have and why?

Requires some minimum balance or waiger requirement for a certain user to be able to post message on chatbox.

The required amount however should be not that much.

In that way, trolls will be minimized. There are people who will just register in a site to spread "something" on the chatbox and will not actually play.
We know the tendency of spams when theres a chatbox that is completely open for everyone but it isnt necessary coming to a point to have that wager requirement.
On my part even i do have the money to play or wager on if i cant chat directly this will really somehow affect my interest (this is based only on my own).
This is why theres a chat moderator to handle spams.

Waiger requirements is honestly not totally my suggestion but consideration. Im more of minimum balance requirement but not much.

Chat moderators are not present all the time. Trolls are everywhere. If newbies want to asked some question, then there should be a certain requirement before they can participate in the trollbox or "for the meantime" they can used the chatbox function between support and users just like other sites does have. In that way, things will be sort out.

Anyways that suggestion isn't really a mandatory for me until that gambling site will have lots of users. Chat moderators should able to handle an average numbers of users on their early phase.
Have a lot of users or not but chat system should really be putted up on a gambling site.Spam is inevitable and i agree about that initial chatbox function between support and new users
because most players will only chat specially new ones when theres question regarding on the site.

Chat moderators should perform their job well in the case where player numbers is shooting up. Social interaction between players does really give out some affect on a gambling site.

Chat can be very helpful for newcomers, for people to share their gambling experieces and many more. But at the other side, it can be very annoyed when people just spam the room with useless words or even talking bullshit. The feature that must be exist on chat room are rainbot for active users and the ability for users to send tips. Those two features will keep people stay active on a gambling site.

Some good things are mentioned in the recommendation but I am looking forward to seeing chat boxes of gambling sites that can be hidden/close when you are just playing. Also putting the option to mute the sound effects as well is good idea. I just want to see this function as some times chatboxes are eating up a big space when you are playing your game but with this functionality when you are gaming you can be focused on your game at the same time not be disturbed by the noise popping from the chat box.

I’d highly recommend you add in a tab to use emojis in the chat box of your casino. Emojis are a great way for chatters to convey emotion, and I like to use them whenever possible, especially when I’m trying to do something for entertainment like in gambling. I don’t use the chat box of casinos often, but it’s always interesting to speak to other people online and talk about their experiences on the site.

Adding emojis in the chat box can be another good advice because people want to express their feeling in the chat. Perhaps, activating private chat for each member will be a good suggestion too because they can share something privately. But I guess that you can find more functionalities in the admin chat setting, or you can modify from the source. But you need to try by yourself to use the chat box, so you know what more to be added in the chat box.

I don't know if that's such a good idea actually, since they would probably be spammed quite a lot.
That's just personal preference though, most chats on gambling websites aren't known for their deep discussions anyway.

It's a good piece of idea. If this idea is for a new gambling platform,  then I don't see the need since chats are only required or needed when there is a large pool of customers and the moderators or customer support are finding it hard to handle or attend to customers.
But for bigger platforms that might need such chatbots, the key functionality/features from my own point of view should be
1. It should be well designed and captivating
2. It should offer something more than generic responses and replies
3. It should be engaging and bug free
4. It should provide detailed solutions to most customers problems.
5. It's should be fast and responsive

I have often wondered about the need for chats features in the gambling industry until I had a problem with my funding on vegasonline  and the chatbot was able to guide me and help me out of the problem/challenge. Aside that Vegas casino have limitless number of games that one can play over there and there is a provision for responsible gambling. There are also different genres of games and they hold a high reputation as regards giving high user experience. They offer high deposit bonuses too and offer good VIP treatment.  Considering all the service they offer and high user engagement,  I think there is a need for chatbots with great features and functionality in all online betting systems.

The chats are usually pretty simple. I think it's nice when you can reply to messages apart from just typing something. Also, it's helpful when there's an admin in the chat. Perhaps, it would be good if there was a way to trigger the admin specifically (so that this person receives a relevant notification) with something like @admin. Moderator who is clearing the chat from spam is quite important, there's a lot of nonsense in gambling chats (oh, and people who are writing in their own languages in an English chat). I also think it's fair is a person gets banned for some time for the violation of chat rules in the chat. Good luck!

I am from those players who love to chat on gambling sites, so I appreciate your initiative about creating a perfect chatbox. I agree with most suggestions above and just want to add one more for you to consider.

I propose to assign different colors to different people in the chat, not permanently but for the time when they are chatting. So that if there were 20 players in the chat simultaneously, each of them would have a different color. In order to avoid a mess, it should done automatically, and players should not have the ability to choose colors for them. This feature, plus the ability to block a user, like posters above have suggested, would make chatting even more pleasing, in my opinion.

EDIT: Regarding the ability of adding GIFs, it's a great feature, but I think it should be limited to one GIF per user per day.

Good initiative! Even though a lot of plugins available in the market, majority of them have limited functionalities. I would recommend you to incorporate the below features in your chatbox to make it stay ahead of the competition,

1. choice of colours given to the users - majority of the chatboxes we see are matched with the website colour. Users are not given a choice to change the colour of the chatboxes even if it is burning their eyes. If we can get a customizable chatbox, that would be a great addition.

2. Moderation facility - Someone has already mentioned about it. A moderator panel would be a great addition where useless messages can be deleted and trolls can be blocked.

3. Pop up chat window - Most of the chatboxes are fixed in sizes and takes up a significant amount of space within the game window. If we can get a pop up facility where we can remove the chatbox completely from the game window and open it in a new pop up window, that would be great!

Wish you success!

I think it's hard to have something that could really shake things up in the chatting box within the gambling sites. I had thought of this when I was reading it, and I'm not sure if there are already chat boxes where you could gamble together with the chatbox. Probably, you could collectively have a poll or something in the chatbox then to the users/members of the site could cast their vote, and of course, they are going to risk some bitcoin with it. It's just a collective or group together. You could make it so that people could form groups and debate with each other. Some trivia questions, I guess, could work too with it.
This reminds me of rollin's chatbot they had different kinds of mini game(hi lo, lottery etc) on their chat every few minutes with a reward of 1mbtc. Their chat games had a level requirement though which made me wager more just to join the fun. It's a good suggestion but not necessary where it's a must have for a chat box.

Most important feature for sure: "Rain" to distribute coins among active players on the chat or between players who want to reward themselves.
The rain feature only acts like a faucet though the tip feature is much more important tbh since it allows you to exchange funds without having to spend fees.

Plus, easy command to add gifs and videos from Youtube (with the option of hidding this for players who are too systematic, this way everyone will be happy).

And maybe the possibility of editing name and words' colors, type, bold, italic for each player.
